Very useful product. Wouldn't be without it.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I am a lawyer with my predominant practice being mediation and arbitration. I practice by myself. I use Nuance Dragon Speech Recognition for all of my document creation needs, for correspondence, legal briefing, and all other things that happen within a law office. Using this application has allowed me to avoid hiring a secretary, except for special projects.
Pros
- Accurate word to print recognition.
- Creation of all varieties of documents.
Cons
- Word recognition can always improve.
- Sometimes puts stray words or characters on the page if you forget to tell the microphone to go to sleep.
- Adds non-spoken words for no reason if there is a delay in speaking.
Likelihood to Recommend
Nuance Dragon Speech Recognition is well-suited for any document creation need. Not as great on forms, because there must be time for one to process one's thoughts, but still pretty good. Memory issues seem to make the program delay transcribing words to an unacceptable extent. I'm sure artificial intelligence will change the program substantially.
