Octopus Deploy is a good Continuous Deployment tool
- Saves time for deployment and reduces Time to Market (TTM).
- Helps managing environments where we deploy in a convenient way.
- While not an inexpensive product, it has proven to be a good value. I don't have firm ROI numbers but our PROD deployment quality has improved, and we now measure deployment times in "person-minutes" rather than "person-hours".
- Our defect rate due to missed configuration items has been significantly reduced.
- Octopus has enhanced our ability to enforce SDLC separation-of-duties.

- Reduced the amount of time that I personally spent (Architect) doing things that required a high level of expertise. I am no longer asked to, for example, do a backup of [the] production server and restore it to a lower environment. That is the following process: Click on Runbook, Click on Copy Prod > Env's Run button, select Environment, click "OK' and DONE.
- Reduced chance of Error on our process - we had a process before where I was one of the few people (almost always the only person) who would do a backup of the production server and restore it back to a Dev/Qa environment, and then apply a process to cleanse the data and set up test users. Now, this is a simple process.
- Reduced time we spent during our bi-weekly deployments. The process is super quick compared to what a manual process would be.
- Reduced time it takes to add a configuration variable to the system. You add it to the config file, use it in the program, add it to Octopus Deploy (which has a step to auto-patch the Config file - even the OLD ones (we have a VB.Net App) - ADO lacks this step, so I had to write my own script to do the patch. You can see in one place the variable and all the values/environments that it applies to. If you leave the environment blank, it applies to all of them that don't have an environment selected (And unlike ADO, you can list all 5 QA environments on ONE variable if they are all the same, instead of listing all 15 environments because two of them are different from the rest).
- Project Spin-up is quicker with Octopus Deploy.
- Creating a runbook to do an automated task has saved us countless hours/money.
- We can even give this to our customers and have them be able to see what is in what environment, when it was deployed, or what runbooks got run when.

Octopus Deploy is a well thought out deployment orchestration solution that is an integral part of our process
- More reliable and repeatable automated deployments, this is priceless
- Removing the possibility of human error from the deployment process
- Saves developers time - humans shouldn’t need to be doing repeatable tasks that a computer can do better - isn’t this the whole point of IT?

Great tool to automate DevOps
- Significantly reduced deployment errors, which significantly reduced downtime.
- Made the time spend by DevOps teams more effective.
- Reduced downtime through the management of password resets and certs.
- Allows us to deploy to our fleet quickly and without interruption to service
- Can roll back to previous releases quickly, allowing us to back out of breaking changes in the worst-case scenarios.
- Integration with several targets has allowed us to explore new platforms for our products, such as Docker in AWS ECS.

Much simpler and safer implementations.
- Octopus Deploy has allowed us to carry out implementations of our applications in a much more effective and secure way, since it is much simpler to decide in which place we want them to be carried out, in what time or moment is desired, and what is the state of each one of detailed form. It is for that reason that the time it takes for us to complete this task now is much smaller and we can say goodbye to errors as well.
- It also gives us the advantage that implementations can be executed on several servers at the same time.
- And the best thing is that it gives us the confidence that what has been tried and implemented is what it really is.

Octupus - Deploy new code at scale
- The ability to grow at scale is what sets this product apart for our company and has yielded great benefits to how we deploy code.
- Allows developers to patch their code into specific packages that can be easily deployed and verified programmatically allowing for more frequent pushes to occur from multiple teams.
- It has allowed our IT teams to stay ahead of product deployments while still allowing us the ability to monitor and maintain a complex infrastructure.

Octopus Deploy - a great deployment automation tool with an awesome free plan and extensive integrations
- Any automated deployment process will save your company a ton of money on testing and bugs. When you don't automate your deployments, you can't be certain that what you are moving between environments is the exact same code with the same or appropriate configuration. What you tested might not be what got deployed.
- We've saved a lot of money using Octopus over the mostly manual process we were using before. We've removed a lot of the errors that come from manual, human intervention.
- Octopus has also allowed us to accomplish more with fewer people. It is easy to bring new people up to speed on the deployment process, and we can be confident of success after very little training.
- We now deploy a lot more frequently.
- The number of mistakes while deploying has gone down significantly.
- Because it is now much easier to deploy, we have multiple environments for testing and QA: Testing, Staging, and Production.
- Deploying to new servers is simple and painless.
- Customers are happier to provide Octopus Deployment access than they are to give Remote Desktop access.

Focusing on Deployment with Octopus Deploy
- Octopus Deploy created a consistent interface and platform on which to standardize deployments for our development team. The integration of Octopus Deploy as the standard deployment configuration tool for our development team streamlined deployment planning, provided consistent configuration standards and provided increased logging for troubleshooting troublesome deployments.
- Using Octopus Deploy as the tool for implementing Release automation has really paid off and delivered great business value. It has helped us release 4 times faster than earlier with better quality and made us agiler.
- Integration with IT management applications is lacking currently which would have driven the benefits of Release automation a notch up.
- Developers love deployment tools like Octopus which take away the anxiety of Prod release and helps them to focus on their core strengths to deliver better software faster.
