We use Odoo to manage our sales, inventory, manufacturing work orders, service orders, and accounting.
  • Great flexibility in manufacturing assembly for a low cost.
  • Very open and flexible system.
  • Integrates with many other systems.
Cons
  • Customer service is nonexistent. You will need a 3rd party to assist you.
  • The system has an open app for integrating with other programs. These are developed by third parties and can be hit or miss in functionality.
  • The system offers great flexibility; however, it is too much and requires coding. For example, changing a Sales order PDF requires coding to modify the document.
  • Initial implementation is clunky and seems to require a 3rd party just for setup.
Implementation was a terrible experience for us. Because it required a third party, we ended up way over budget and schedule. While Odoo advertises that it works with many systems, these third-party integrations often don't work out of the box and require extensive coding to set up. Furthermore, these "apps" can frequently break or lose integration.

Customizable ERP that's affordable.

We use Odoo as our sales, accounting, manufacturing, service and inventory control system. We had several less efficient systems in place prior and with Odoo we have been able to combine them into one. We also like it because there is a communications system built in. You can tag people in messages and assign activities. It makes it very helpful to reenforce the importance of communication amongst the teams.
  • Easy to add or archive product.
  • Sorts customer information easily.
  • Integrates with other programs like Slack.
Cons
  • We had to work with an implementation team to customize Odoo into something that could truly work for us.
  • I would like to be able to run some reports in an easier way.
  • We did have to implement the use of an iOT box as well for something like printing barcode stickers.
Over-all, due to the customizations we were able to make to Odoo, we were able to make it work for our company. We are a company of only about 45 people and I think Odoo can support smaller companies like ours. I don't think it would suit larger corporations with large warehouses. So I gave it a 7 because for the price of the base product and the implementation team, I feel we got what we need. It took us almost a year of meetings and discussions and playing around in a sandbox version to get where we could launch it and then almost another year after the launch of tweaks and changes and support from the team.

You can do whatever you want with Odoo, from ordering lunch to selling online.

Well I'am an Odoo consultant and also an Odoo user, internally at our company we use it for Sales, E-commerce, marketing, HR, Projects, Recruitment, CRM and more.
  • Accounting is the core of Odoo, it started as an accounting software back in the days when it was called TinyERP, the key value added in the accounting is the usability, so far now in the market, there is no accounting software as user-friendly as Odoo
  • Scalability, Odoo is highly customizable by developers and end users, once installed with a little bit of practice and training users can maintain Odoo by themselves.
Cons
  • Bug fixing by the Odoo team is not that good, it can take up to a month to solve an issue
  • Not all localizations are included in the core.
Odoo is flexible but is a generic suite of business apps, it has the core of every business type but is not vertical for special needs. Good news is that you can modify it and make it work for your industry as you wish, and I think that if you use a consultant for the implementation of Odoo in your company, few things can go wrong. In my experience, things go wrong mostly because of the lack of knowledge of the tool. If you get trained and read the documentation, there are a few things you cannot do with Odoo.

I will gladly do Odoo again.

We are using Odoo for Sales and Inventory which seamlessly integrates with the products on the websites. This means the Sales teams effectively manage the products on the back end and front end is automatically maintained.
  • Product integration on websites
  • Customization is endless
Cons
  • It would be great if one could load Marketplace Modules on Odoo.online
  • Documentation is lacking for customers that want to do self-serivce on Odoo.online
  • Not having product dimensions as standard feature is a major downfall
Odoo is well priced for small teams and negotiable on enterprise level.

Odoo is getting better.

We use it as our ERP system. We will also be using it as our POS.
  • Manufacturing orders.
  • Support
  • Shipping
Cons
  • POS is missing a lot of functionality.
  • Can be glitchy.
  • Seems to do MOST of everything. But has gaps.
It does seem to be getting better now that Odoo Corp is getting more involved. It is good in manufacturing but not in POS.
