Okta is being used across our entire organization. The Single-Sign-On allows for an easy flow of software and application access without the requirement of having to login to each application separately. This makes our jobs more efficient and allows us to assist our customers quicker. To be able to get to our customers faster allows for us to make our customers happy. With Okta as our SSO partner, our organization is able to sign in to our plethoraof applications, internal and external.

Okta is best set for businesses with multiple Saas applications and resources that will allow users to have streamlined access to the different resources without having to log in to each and every application. The downside of Okta is the ability to have personalization across the different resources, but this really won't hamper the everyday business user.

I have been able to get into my daily applications quicker, which allows me to interact with my colleagues and customers at a more manageable time. Simply put, signing in to 20+ applications at once, saves me at least 30 to 40 minutes of going through and logging into all the applications
No support has been necessary to this point.
The reliability of Okta has definitely made it easier to access our applications quicker and make our lives simplified in a very hectic environment and with customers needing support for their products, having access to our resources makes it that much easier to support our customers and make their lives simpler.
Okta is the first of a kind for me and this organization. At this moment, we haven't even considered another provider. I am aware that other companies provide SSO options, such as Microsoft, but if something is working properly throughout your organization, why make a change? Okta just makes my day easier.
It allowed for our organization to be 100% remote in regards to supporting our customers. I am sure that from an IT perspective, our organization sees the benefit of having a tool that connects you to others within the organization and externally, that it just makes our jobs easier to do

We recently deployed Okta for the entire organization to simplify the login process for the applications we use, both on-premise and in the cloud. It also solves the problem of single sign-on and mainly saves a lot of implementation time, deployment, and maintenance cost for hardware and software. It solves the issue of simplifying security and authentication in the whole organization.

  • A trusted tool used in most corporate environments
  • Simplifies corporate authentication with an added layer of security, I.E. the multi-factor authentication
  • Password Vault for Unix landscape is not easy to set up when compared to other SSO tools
  • Adds an additional layer of complexity if you have multiple forests/domains in the environment
It is suited everywhere due to the number of cyber attacks and malicious attempts to steal identities or information. The additional layer of security and integration with corporate apps leaves no room for hackers. It helps to track devices where the user logs in and simplifies the security audit procedure.

  • It all depends upon the size of the organization but Okta is scalable to a mid-sized organization.
  • We have seen unauthorized access is blocked and after Okta implementation, any suspicious activity is reported as well as recorded.
Okta works well and is used in many of the utility companies for securing their environment. The Okta UI is simple and easy to navigate and integrates well with most corporate applications.

We use Okta across the entire enterprise. Okta has solved several business problems. First, keeping our attributes in sync between our HRIS (Workday) and our Active Directory, also it provides us the ability to quickly provision and enhances our security by quickly de-provisioning users as they leave the company. Second it an easy method of providing SAML support to SaaS applications. Finally it allows you to inject user names and passwords into websites that do not support SAML.

  • Software Deployment of Okta Agent for Firefox and Chrome is difficult using IBM Tivoli
  • In the past it felt like a true partnership as I would be contacted at least quarterly by my account manager to ensure I was happy as a customer. I no longer receive these calls and have lost a sense of partnership with the vendor.

Some people need a security assertion markup language (SAML) solution that is a bit outside the box, other SAML as a service providers can be more flexible with their solutions.

When we selected Okta 2 years ago they had by far the most mature Workday integration. Okta as an organization has greatly matured over the last few years and is focused on providing the missing features that set their competitors apart. As the feature sets of the different SAML as a service become more unified what sets Okta apart is their ability to capture the market share. Switching SAML providers is very difficult over time and having a company that will be around long term is very important.
Over the years the competition has taken to large pricing discounts to attract customers to leave Okta. Okta is a major investment for most organizations and this would effect our renewal. On the positive side the service for the most part has been highly available. and stable. Universal Director is the game changer for Okta and its quick maturity is important to renewals.
