We were using an in-house SSO product but were facing a system availability issue which got resolved with Auth0
  • System Availability
  • Better User/tenant Management Dashboard
  • Easy to integrate
  • More Custom UI
  • Better log searching
  • More detailed error messaging when SSO connections fail
  • Downtime
It is configurable. We are using it for authentication.

Auth0 is being used as our authentication provider for our new portfolio of Security solutions. With Auth0 we've been able to have a reliable, and easy-to-use authentication solution for our technical team and end-users giving us the time to be focused [on] building our products.
  • Integration with different identity providers
  • Libraries and SDKs for different technologies
  • Support via forums and dedicated post-sales teams
  • Add documentation and examples on libraries and SDKs
  • Add functionality to the Universal Login that can help to customize its graphic styles
Well suited for authentication via Identity Providers, Users, and API security management. I can´t think of [an] authentication scenario where Auth0 can´t be used.

It's used by the Information Technology department, the front-end, back-end, full-stack, and all other developers and Application Programming Interface partners. Auth0 helps with the security in authorizations for logins, and in compliance with Brazil's legislation for the safety of users' data. It also authenticates and minimizes risks cheaper than building your own solution.
  • Authorization
  • Authentication
  • Compliance
  • I like how it is actually
It is well suitable when your area needs an easy and flexible platform to make the authentications satisfactory and confirm the terms. It is less appropriate when you don't need authenticators, or need something that is not on the platform and have the time and money to spend building your own platform.

Okta is one of the better directory/SSO products and is something we use daily. It solves things like onboarding and offboarding, plus app provisioning. Provisioning/Deprovisioning capabilities of Okta really stand out.
  • Single Sign On
  • Directory
  • SCIM
  • Profile mastering is a bit awkward
  • UI is somewhat inconsistent
  • Reports could be easier to read
It is THE exact SSO solution that any business would want. Capability is definitely out there. Some UI elements are a bit rough, but the product is very solid.

We are a big corporation with many internal and SaaS apps. We leverage Okta for all the authentication sequences. We use the portal and the add-on. You need some experience with using SAML to add new apps. Okta is integrating with LDAP which is very convenient also provisioning new users is a vert cook use case
  • supporting multiple SAML apps
  • Okta verify is great for 2fa
  • logs a bit unreadable.
  • password less hard to implement
Okta Identity Cloud is a good SSO solution. A bit pricy but very well maintained. Good for corporate environments. Too much for small companies.

Okta [Identity Cloud] was offered as a voluntary solution for eligible users within our Enterprise. Right away, I was very much interested in the offerings of the Okta Identity Cloud as the pain of remembering so many different passwords in both my personal & professional life can be a bit intimidating. As I started to use Okta [Identity Cloud], I realized just how much time this could save on a daily basis if the whole company started to use it. Gradually, more and more fellow co-workers opted into using Okta [Identity Cloud], and soon after, an increase in productivity in our department followed.

Having less users frantically trying to remember, reset, or change passwords to all their applications and logins is a huge blow to productivity. It might not matter too much in one single day's worth of work, but over weeks, months, and years, I am afraid to ask how much time an entire Enterprise wastes on these mundane password recovery issues. Okta has changed the way I think about logging into these frequently used applications and streamlined our business to be more productive, all through one single login.
  • Single Sign On
  • Waste Less Time
  • Once in a while, there are some glitches that still require me to login manually.
Remembering so many different passwords in both my personal & professional life can be a bit intimidating. On a larger scale, the Okta Identify Cloud helps put more time in employees' days to be productive.

The Okta Identify Cloud is primarily being used as a Two-Factor Authentication service to help keep our users that login to our main company portal secure. It's used by all departments that need access to the portal, and exists as both a desktop login, or as a mobile app. It allows for a consistent and secure tool for helping keep all our users' logins safe.
  • SMS verification codes
  • The side-car mobile able
  • Easy-to-use
  • [It has some] blocky/clunky aesthetics.
  • Sometimes it feels like it requires you to update your password too often for simple input mistakes.
  • Pricing [could be better].
[The] Okta [Identity Cloud] is great when your business has grown to the size that you have multiple users accessing one centralized portal or platform that you want to keep protected. However, if you are just a smaller group, perhaps services like Last Pass would be better suited for below the same price point.

[The Okta Identity Cloud] is used for corporate employees in the US (I'm not sure about other countries or customer support roles). [The Okta Identity Cloud] keeps information secure and manageable now that most people aren't working in the office.
  • Organizes products and tools in one place. This is especially helpful if you forget the name of a program.
  • Makes it easy to log into all your top tools - just log into [The Okta Identity Cloud] once a day.
  • It's secure.
  • [In my experience] the need to routinely update my password is really obnoxious. First off, my password gets more obscure every time, and second, it logs me out of [The Okta Identity Cloud] on other devices. Meaning my Google Calendar notifications on my phone completely stop until I remember to log in to everything on my phone again.
  • I [dislike] the constant notifications to log in. I don't need [The Okta Identity Cloud] every day, so it's not relevant. For example, I may need access to Jira on Monday, so I log in to [The Okta Identity Cloud]. But I may go Tuesday without needing access to any tools, so the constant reminder to log in for the day [I feel] is irritating. I'd like to at least be able to hit ignore.
  • I imagine losing your phone is a headache. It's one thing to walk into another room of the house to retrieve my phone (which is intentionally not in my office). It would be another to not have my phone entirely. It would be great to verify security [in] another way, such as email.
Okta is useful for companies that don't meet in the office because there's an added layer of security. It's also helpful for companies that use several programs/tools because it organizes them in one place.

The entire organization uses [The Otka Identity Cloud] for single sign-on services. This has been a great help for those that have multiple applications they interface with during the day. As it is all online, the application has been especially useful for remote working. There are super users that assist with access and they are very responsive.
  • Single sign on
  • Handling multiple applications
  • Ensuring employees are able to stay secure with many accounts
  • It can take time to onboard new applications
  • Only super users can resolve problems
  • Not every application is compatible
For large (500+) organizations, I think [The Otka Identity Cloud] is essential. There are many employees that have many applications they need to log in to, and [The Otka Identity Cloud] helps simplify this. For smaller organizations, and organizations that are very simple as far as employees that don't use multiple applications, [The Otka Identity Cloud] may not be the best solution.

[The] Okta [Identity Cloud] is used across the entire organization to provide single sign-on, user and groups management, and application onboarding as well and user lifecycle management as users are provisioned or de-provisioned across the organization. The user interface is intuitive and easy to manage and scale for the entire organization.
  • User provisioning and deprovisioning
  • Application onboarding and integration
  • Reporting and logging for troubleshooting purpose
  • Better reporting ability would be helpful
  • Built in query can assist troubleshooting
It is appropriate for any organization where security is a concern and [the] ability to provision users and manage application lifecycle that supports modern authentication. Organizations today tend to use multiple applications from various vendors delivered on the cloud and a cloud identity solution is well suited in this case. It is a must-have tool in digital transformation for any organization.

Okta is used by our entire company, we use it to connect to several programs and products that we use here. I find that it can be a super helpful tool but it's not as seamless as I hoped it would be. The text features get tedious when you're trying to re-authenticate and the verify app itself was working perfectly for a while, then I started having issues when I changed devices. I think it is a secure program and useful overall, just some minor hiccups that aren't major issues until you wanna get through the process quickly.
  • Connect multiple company wide programs for easy login
  • Browser extension that is easily accessible and straight forward
  • easier verify app usage, its a little minimal and i find hard to navigate sometimes
Okta is well suited for teams, I feel major teams might benefit more who use more programs. I think any business wants to be secure, so this is a step in the right direction, especially if you're not the greatest with remembering passwords or hate logging in to multiple platforms on the regular.

Basically, previously, we are using Google Firebase for auth and Red Hat LDAP serve. Due to the high resources and private cloud, it's hesitant to configure and make all things work together. After we changed to Auth0, it's was easy to just connect and done. One year back, I have also implemented it in an organization for their user auth services and really to say it worked well.

  • Fully coded auth service.
  • Just API-connection.
  • Easily deployable and low pricing.
  • Sometimes it's buggy on the frontend.
  • Uses an AD.
  • GIT Pill secure auth
We can use it as an alternative to all other products like Firebase Auth. Why? Auth0 has its specialty for authentication and is most focused on it so bugs will be reduced by 90% compared to others.
  • Low pricing point
  • Easy to connect
  • Simple UI AND UX
  • Have logs and records like AD

After carefully reviewing the product offerings of several vendors about 4 years ago, we picked Auth0 to be the Identity provider for all of ConstructConnect products. We are extremely pleased with our decision. Our developers and architects found it really easy to integrate our applications and services with Auth0. Our business leaders and customers are happy with the overall reliability of the service. What's more, they have continued to add important enhancements to their feature set (e.g., Adaptive MFA). Their support team is best in class and always available to answer questions and allay any concerns promptly.
  • Easy to integrate
  • Documentation
  • Reliable
  • API first approach
  • Usability of Adaptive MFA features (Self-service)
  • Disaster Data Recovery support (Not available)
Easy to integrate. Highly reliable.

We are a service-based software company, we use AUTH 0 on client projects to create seamless login and authentication process.
I have really enjoyed the service and support from Auth0. They quickly answer all of our questions and have gone beyond expectations to make sure we understand how their platform works, and how we can better utilize the service to meeting our authentication and authorization needs.
  • Social Login
  • Ease of setup
  • More UI elements
  • More Verbose documentation
  • More social logins
Where we need to develop using agile methodology and to fast development this is suitable in that case, and if are looking to build our own login system with our security then it is not suitable.
It has been a great experience using the product, given that Auth0 is a trusted Identity product, we have not much complains benefiting from the features that the product is getting us. It is up to standard, and we have not much worry to get the platform into production usage.

Auth0 is used as a login/sign-up service provided on the website. It helps users create accounts using their favorite social media app or with their email address. It makes the whole login process simple and user-friendly for anyone to log in because of the social media login integrations.
  • Social Media Login Integration
  • SSO Login
  • Separate domain login for apps and websites
  • Custom domain implementation could be made a little easy
  • Pricing can be further reduced for paid plans
  • Deployment integrations can be simplified for popular hosting platforms.
Auth0 can be used for websites and apps, where the process of login or sign up is either required by the internal team or application users. It makes the process really simple for everyone - the website or application owner and the user. It integrates your website or app with popular social media login integrations, which makes it super easy and quick to sign in.

We are using Auth0 to authenticate end-users with apps that we develop. By using Auth0 as our Identity Provider (IdP) and login/logout solution, we minimize the scope of work required for an application development project that requires authentication. This in turn reduces the amount of time required to come up with prototypes, demos to prospective customers, and eventual time to market. In addition, for some apps that require us to manually provision accounts, having a user database built-in is a big plus.
  • User database and management
  • Hosted login and logout
  • SDKs for almost every framework
  • Many tutorials and guides
  • More in-depth guides for other frameworks like Svelte
  • More competitive pricing (eg. vs AWS Cognito, Azure AD B2C)
  • Pricing details beyond 10K MAUs
Auth0 shines when one needs a simple auth solution, particularly for beginners building SPAs, as well as for those building apps on more obscure frameworks like Cordova or Nativescript. Pricing premium is acceptable when a low number of MAUs are expected. Pricing however does not scale well, as other providers like AWS Cognito and Azure AD B2C have priced an order of magnitude cheaper and much more generous free tiers. Essentially the trade-off is developer experience vs cost.

It is used by our entire organization to authenticate and authorize users to various applications. It serves as a single source of identity for our applications regardless of which cloud they are in, allowing us to be multi cloud. It offers many integrations with other SaaS applications, so that users can just click a tile on their home screen and get signed into that SaaS provider.
  • Good documentation
  • Widely used and trusted in the industry
  • Very little downtime or outages
  • Needs better self service APIs for developers
  • Needs more supported client libraries for developers
  • Needs to support common developmemt frameworks sooner after they release
It's an enterprise ready cloud identity provider that is scalable and reliable. It offers great integrations with other SaaS providers out of the box, and makes it easy to administrate user access and authorization. I wish it had better support for developers and development tools, but maybe the recent Auth0 acquisition will help that.

We are using Auth0 for our app users' sign-in/signup. We are currently using the SMS login but plan to implement more authentication solutions.
  • Third-party integrations.
  • Use of JWT.
  • Ease to start.
  • Lack of control. For example, on the verification code sent by SMS.
  • Lack of implementation between different services.
I think Auth0 is excellent for enterprise customers, but it's not too good for final customers.

Around one year ago TransferWise migrated from Google Single Sign On to Okta to have one identity management system across multiple services in our enterprise. We now use Okta across the whole organization, to ensure security access to all our internal systems.

Our IT team is constantly onboarding and integrating new services so that the experience is the same across all internal services for internal expenses, document management, vacations and health time off, surveys and other internal systems, including engineering specific tools like Github.

Integrating with Okta made our work lives easier, accessing those services is way more simple and secure now - and when an employee decides to leave, it's easier to offboard him from our platform and services all at once.
  • Single sign on
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • Multiple services integration
  • Notifications
  • Onboarding customer on new services
Okta is really well suited for medium to large organizations when there's multiple third party service integrations and not all of them use the same standards - if your company is not that large, identity providers like Microsoft and Google that also provide work collaboration and productivity tools can handle most of the needs, but once your company starts integrating multiple competing services, and does not want to be held hostage by one large corporation, Okta can be a great tool to achieve that independence and flexibility.

My company use Okta to manage single-sign on and identify management for our entire 500 person company. This helps us maintain secure logins, prevent unsafe passwords, and more. This also helps our IT team manage permissions for our employees.
  • Manage permissions for our employees
  • Sign users into their services
  • Connect to secure two-factor authentication (2FA)
  • Require fewer logins throughout the workday – I'd like Okta to remember users' identities for at least 24 hours after login.
  • Contemporary design – the login screens look outdated but function well.
Well suited for larger organization of several hundred employees or more.
- Manage users
- Manage logins
- Track activities

Less suited for smaller organizations that do not plan to grow.
- No need to pay that much to manage users, logins, and activities.

Auth0 provides us a trusted and scalable method for user authentication and authorization for our Software as a Service (SaaS) product which includes a user dashboard accessed via a web browser. We embed Auth0 in our flagship product and use it for our own software testing and development.
  • Easy to implement
  • Clear documentation and use cases
  • Ability to scale with our company as we grow
  • Annoying sales people
  • Shift from open source to for-profit model
  • Unsure of their future roadmap as they are now profit driven and no longer open source
Great for user authentication and access priviledge management. We are using it for both our commercial and financial clients and Auth0 meets all the regulations and due diligence required to close deals with these enterprise customers. Given their tiered pricing structure, we don't see a scenario where Auth0 would not be appropriate for the solution it provides.

We use The Okta Identity Cloud for our SSO solution. The Okta Identity Cloud has some great security features such as trusted locations, MFA, etc. It is used throughout the entire organization and we continue to use it as the default login for any service/product that supports it. It's flexible enough to sync users/passwords against AD and Google LDAP.

Great if: Looking for a cloud solution, that is very robust and feature-rich. It allows for tremendous flexibility on configuration based upon an application, group, user, location, etc.

Not Great if: If you have limited knowledge of security or if you need to manually configure an application. The Okta Identity Cloud has a great amount of apps, compatible with out-of-the-box, and it can be manually configured for other applications. If someone is not familiar with or comfortable making some application configuration changes, this may be challenging.

The Okta Identity Cloud is used by our entire company to manage all of the access to our Cloud-based programs. It makes it easy for all our employees, regardless of where they work from whether or not they're in the office to easily access all of their assigned programs via one single token based login.
  • Extremely simple to use and manage
  • Excellent mobile app regardless of the OS you're using
  • Easily manages a user access level and the programs that are assigned to them
  • Simple UI that's configurable per user
  • It can be confusing for the first-time user to switch between The Okta Identity Cloud sign-on and the token generating app if they're trying to do everything from their phone.
Being that we're a global company of over 3000 employees, we desperately needed a way to manage each user's access easily at the employee level or by specific groups. The Okta Identity Cloud has definitely solved that for us. It was easy to implement, and we have very few issues at the individual user level. Now that a lot of our employees are remote or working from the road, The Okta Identity Cloud's mobile app for single sign-on has been extremely useful as well. It's well laid out and gets the job done. User access was definitely an area we struggled with before this came along.

Okta Workforce Identity is used as [a] single authentication tool used to login across all platforms within our organization. It is integrated with other VPNs like Cisco AnyConnect and acts as [a] primary authentication layer tool. All of the company’s communication ( G Suite, Slack, Jostle, etc.) tools are running under same authentication layer of Okta.
  • Real time accurate push authentication notifications
  • Password recovery management
  • Accessibility on any platform
  • Approve authentication device dependency
  • A specific authentication can only be granted for maximum time frame of 24 hours. One had to re-authenticate an access session after 24 hours.
It is well suited for people who mostly have functional roles in the company like sales, marketing, csm, [and] product management as there are [a] lesser number of tools needed to be authenticated (like G Suite and chat apps like Slack) through Okta as compared to the number of authentications needed [for] various other cloud applications used [in] business.

Auth0 is used by a department to authenticate the users who use our platform, we also authorize the users using the app metadata that Auth0 has. We currently have three applications that use Auth0 for the same purpose. Also, we implemented it in one of our backend services to decrypt the JWT token.
  • Authenticate
  • Personalize login
  • Create rules
  • Roles
  • Usages of user metadata
Well, I find it quite difficult to find documentation or example in real life applications. I remember that the examples for react are quite simple so when we implemented on a production application, we had to make some changes that we didn't consider.
