Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I don't like Evernote's privacy policy. Plus, they were hacked and I don't think they're paying enough attention to their security. Evernote is decent for a consumer experience or a college student, but I think when it comes to an enterprise use case, it's really important to have trust and security in your note-taking platform.

Evernote and OneNote are very similar. Mac users may be more comfortable with Evernote as it has been the standard on Mac for many years, but OneNote has definitely caught up in terms of feature/functionality. Personally, I bounce back and forth between them as I have many years of notes in Evernote, but have more recently started to use OneNote to collaborate with colleagues.

As stated earlier, Evernote is a little better at mobile and list making. Especially when doing things like needing to record different media types [written, photos, audio recording]. That being said, if Evernote shut its doors tomorrow, I'd just download all of that content and import into OneNote. If the inverse were true, life would stink for the type of work that I do and how much I depend on it.

For me, OneNote is way simpler and easier to use. Furthermore, the storage options was one of the key factors that I choose OneNote. Since it's a software for my PC, I can just store all the documents on my computer and I will never have the fear of running out of space and then having to spend extra money on expanding my storage capacity.

  • S-Note
S-Note is very local and works only on your Samsung device. Attempting to share S-Note notes across devices will turn them into pictures, which are hardly useful on a PC. OneNote's format is standardized between PC/Mobile/Web. Also, OneNote is clearly better for the different media it supports (e.g. videos/audio). S-Note, at this point, does a better job at recognizing handwriting and doing special actions based on it (like arranging a meeting or making a call). OneNote is improving on that area, but only if you allow it to tap Cortana's power.

OneNote is by far the easiest to get familiar with for our end users as well as its integration into the Microsoft suite has made adoption much easier with our employees. OneNote allows for Active Directory setting internally which help us administer and deploy the product through our organization.

OneNote's tight integration into the devices and services I used meant that it presented a stronger value than Evernote. Furthermore, OneNote uses an account that I already make heavy use of (Microsoft Account) and did not require me to establish yet another account.

OneNote was the best choice over Google Drive because Google keeps changing their products too often removing some features and adding others that we do not need. We also looked at self hosting with ownCloud but the ability to use OneNote on a multitude of devices and no purchase of hardware was needed by us to operate OneNote.

  • Google App
It may be more cumbersome to use than Google Apps but it works very well on our Office systems we are running here. We did initaially look into Google but being we have not deployed Google to staff we are still using Office as our main program. This is what lead to OneNote being the choice for our environment here.

When I'm on my Mac I use Evernote - but when I'm on my Surface Pro I use OneNote. I feel that for my specific needs, the two programs complete the same two jobs. However, I like the visual format of Evernote a bit better than OneNote. Evernote I use more for creative notes, and OneNote more for professional notes and the ability to write notes with a pen.

I feel that OneNote is a good take on Evernote and even Google Keep which is not listed as far as cloud note taking abilities is concerned with some collaborative abilities. One would use OneNote as they would be more familiar with how MS products works as it is the staple office utility.

I find OneNote to be a much simpler product compared to Evernote. I lean towards Microsoft products because they speak to each other. OneNote gives you the option to export from other applications.
OneNote does more than NotePad by giving you the ability to create sections, notebooks and tabs. It's overall very easy to use.

I've looked at Evernote and a few miscellaneous Android apps but nothing is as integrated with Microsoft Office or quite as flexible as OneNote. To be honest, OneNote chose me. It has been a part of Office Professional for many years. Though, I admit I didn't start really using it until one of my key clients insisted upon communicating technical specs this way. After using it for awhile, I looked a few apps that would be accessible on my Android device (prior to OneNote compatibility change). They were all great for text notes and quick scribbles, but none seemed to be "growable" into more than just that.

SharePoint is another Microsoft product that could be adapted and used similar to OneNote. However, if you are looking for a simple system with the flexibility for any user to start it up and build their own information repository, OneNote is your solution. OneNote also integrates very well into SharePoint if you are using SharePoint as your intranet solution. You can have your OneNote files render in SharePoint through the Office Web Apps solution.

OneNote has a wider selection of fonts. OneNote also allows for more flexibility in formatting. Evernote, on the other hand, is a free service. Even though Office 365 allows for several GB of space on OneDrive, it is still a paid service, and Evernote gives free users more space each month.
