Why Documentum?

Likelihood to Renew

Stability is a key factor as well as its flexibility. Also, any organization that deploys Documentum will have made a significant investment in terms of time and money, so not renewing its commitment can come with a significant cost. That said, the decision to deploy Documentum initially should come only after extensive evaluation, knowing that once deployed it will likely remain the platform of choice.

Likelihood to Renew

OpenText Enterprise Content Management is reliable and it has a friendly user interface. It can replace all legacy document repositories. With the integrations with SAP, it gives non-Sap users visibility into documents that are critical for making key decisions.

About OpenText ECM

OpenText is the largest of the ECM vendors, having grown through acquisitions, including Documentum, which is now part of the OpenText ECM suite of products. OpenText's ECM solutions handle all the standard ECM functions including records management, archiving, search and discovery, The product competes with IBM FileNet, Oracle WebCenter and Hyland OnBase.

OpenText ECM also includes the original Livelink product which was designed for collaboration. Thiese collaborative tools which are now part of the larger content management suite means that the product also competes with vendors focused on the collaboration platform space like IBM Lotus, Microsoft Sharepoint and Jive TeamCollaboration
