Optimizely is a website optimization platform, providing A/B and multivariate testing. It enables users with and without technical expertise to make dynamic changes to their websites, test the variations to live traffic and gather immediate results.https://media.trustradius.com/product-logos/PJ/xR/9ITXLXGFX53G.PNGPlease A/B test this review! We use Optimizely for all of our A/B webpage testing across both our main website and any campaign landing pages. Only the Marketing department uses this tool. We use Optimizely to test out theories in order to see their effect on conversion rates and other relevant KPI's.,It makes it easy to set up the A/B testing parameters and allow us to focus on running multiple tests. We love the ability to exclude audiences so that the test data is as pure as possible We like the interface since its easy to see what version is "winning",There is a bit of a learning curve with the interface, it's not that intuitive day 1. You will need a web dev to help get these tests set up. It is not easy enough for a non-tech person to do.,8,It has a positive ROI overall on the organization. It has saved us from lowering our conversion rates due to the data we get from the test results.,Acquia Lift,Google Analytics Premium, Drupal, Acquia Platform, Marketo,3,2,To test an element to increase the conversion rate on a specific page. To prove (or disprove) with data the idea that a person may have to "improve" a web page. To see the impact of what a small change could have and at times be surprised how much something like a color change can affect user behavior.,Finding out what "little things" can do to move the needle and make a difference in the performance of a page.,Use it for ongoing personalization of content based on either 1st or 3rd party data. Testing new elements to increase time on site or click troughs to content pieces.,8Great Tool for CRO ProgramsWhen we first implemented Optimizely, I was the only one using it to run tests. As I gained momentum and other members of the marketing team, management and customer service became familiar with the platform and possibilities, they began contributing to the testing backlog and even running tests themselves.,It's simple to integrate with any website, one tag in the header and you're good to go in a few minutes! The interface to set up experiments is easy to use for simple experiments, just about anyone who can use a computer can set up an experiment in the Optimizely editor. Their new Stats Engine they realeased a few years back allows marketers to declare a winner sooner (with a smaller required sample size) than traditional statistics would allow.,While it's great they offer a free version, technical support for more difficult experiment set up is unavailable unless you are an enterprise level member. Optimizely has a synchronous tag, which means it cannot be added to a website using Google Tag Manager (>90% of all sites using a TMS use GTM so this affects most users.) I'm sure most of us mathletes would appreciate a more in depth explanation of the statistics used in their new Stats Engine. I did a lot of digging when it was first released and wasn't able to get answers from their support team. It's great to be able to test more rapidly but understanding the maths behind the decision engine is paramount - or your essentially flying blind.,10,ROI is always positive - because it's free! I've run some experiments with estimated uplift in annual revenue of over $0.5MM (or an additional 2.2% revenue). It's a great tool to use for team-building. Everyone can have input to a CRO program - I prefer to send out a Google form to an entire company to allow anyone to submit ideas to the backlog.,Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugins, AdRoll,2,7,CRO Quick fixes for website bugs or errors, last minute updates etc. Marketing,One year we ran a countdown timer on the site navigation, it really boosted conversions One time we tested adding an additional checkout button on the shopping cart and saw a rediculous increase in conversion rate It ended up beating a great training tool for new employees learning about statistics and the science behind CRO,I would really use it for anything that comes up, it’s a great training tool for those starting out and in a pinch when a developer’s not around for emergency updates.,10Optimizely lets you test easily with low overhead. We utilize Optimizely to test our clients UX on the Magento platform. It is easy to install and there is a handy module for Magento that makes it easy for clients to add the snippet to their site. Optimizely is very easy to use and even better if you have jQuery knowledge. It loads fast and allows you to test many things on the site without a lot of overhead and minimal effort. If you are a savvy user it is easy to work with. If someone isn't savvy and tries to use the editor there is a risk of breaking your site. For example, if working with a product detail page template, be wary of using their WYSIWYG editor on any dynamic information like pricing. It can turn it into a static html element on the page. Overall it's a great tool that allows you to be nimble with your testing and has great reporting on the results of your test.,Test setup is easy and doesn't take a lot of company resources. The impact on page speed is incredibly small. The results dashboard gives great insights to how your test is performing and you can track multiple goals.,I'd like to see more tools comparable to Visual Website Optimizer (VWO). Like user recordings and in page analytics. If you have a dynamic area of information and edit it you pose a risk to making the page templates dynamic data static across the site. Pricing is a great example of this.,8,Increased click through rates from homepages for clients. Improved conversion rates from product detail pages. Tested category pages and increased conversions.,Visual Website Optimizer,Visual Website Optimizer,1,1,Testing CRO for clients Testing internal lead generation,Testing our lead generation funnel using mutliple landing pages / funnels.,Testing checkout processes for our clients.,6,No,Price Product Features Product Usability Product Reputation Vendor Reputation,None, but they change their pricing structure too often and we are considering other vendors.,Implemented in-house,No,Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled,None.,8,Self-taught,It was easy and I became Optimizely platform certified.,6,Implement the snippet high up in the <head> so you avoid any flashing while loading the test.,No - we have not done any customization to the interface,No - we have not done any custom code,No,4,No,They provided a great detailed explanation on testing pricing using a workaround method.,Changing static text or css elements. Viewing the results. They are easy to interpret.,Editing anything dynamic.,No,9Doing it fast with OptimizelyOptimizely is now our primary tool for A/B testing and deploying temporary code fixes between releases. It's been an amazing tool for us and has helped us ramp up our optimization efforts considerably. We've gone from deploying a handful of experiments per year to launching several new tests every week. I'm the primary user of the tool, working in the product department, but I often seek out help from various developers as we conceive of progressively more complicated experiments. I've been amazed by what you can do with Optimizely and a little determination. We've lifted conversion rates all over our site with Optimizely.,Optimizely has a very intuitive interface that really makes learning to use the tool quite easy. Even a complete novice can develop and deploy simple A/B tests with minimal effort. Optiverse, Optimizely's support forum, is an excellent place to learn how to take your A/B testing to the next level. I've gone from running simple copy change tests to advanced multi-page funnel testing. The ability to simply modify existing pages on your site rather than recreating them and redirecting traffic has been immensely valuable and allowed us to deploy tests much faster than we did before.,I'm often frustrated with how hard it is to monitor results from my phone. I wish there was a mobile optimized version of the results section. I'm often travelling on the weekends and need to check on our tests via my phone. It can be done, but it's a very sub-optimal experience. I wish I could see the results of all my active tests on a single dashboard. Currently you have to drill into each experiment individually. Since I sometimes have as many as 10-15 experiments running, a good part of my day is spent monitoring a ton of open tabs for each test. Just nitpicking, but it would be nice to be able to reorder your experiment's goals without having to exit editing mode and return to the main projects page.,10,Higher conversion rates across our site! Greater insight into how visitors use our site. Massively increased employee productivity. A less buggy user experience since we can quickly deploy temporary fixes when bugs are discovered. Facilitates a culture of testing. Because it's so easy to do, we test many of the changes we make to our site prior to deploying them in our code. "Let's test it" is a very common phrase around here.,,,,A/B optimization testing Deploying temporary bug fixes Gaining insights about how visitors interact with our site Refining marketing copy,As a stop gap solution for bugs To customize pages for business partners on our site Temporairly redirecting SEM traffic from inefficient pages Swapping images and copy for Marketing and Legal,Longer multi-page experiments Testing site-wide changes to headers and navigation For co-branding opportunities,10Optimizely is Best-In-Class!We perform A/B tests and improve user experience with the tool.,It's very easy to set up tests Their tech support is amazing it gives very quick and strong results.,I would have liked to see improvements with the sitecatalyst integration.,10,We used this tool to execute several tests. We saw huge ROI compared to our prior use of Adobe Test and Target.,Adobe Test and Target,Google Analytics,8,Implemented in-houseOptimizely - It's GoodProvides a dead simple way to get up and running with AB and MVT testing on your web properties via its super simple installation and highly intuitive variation WYSIWYG based editor. Open and transparent with its inner workings. Curious what that WYSIWYG editor is actually doing? Optimizely provides full access to all variation code. Don't like WYSIWYG editors? Handwrite the standard Javascript based variation code yourself. Uncomfortable with code executing on your site that you can't see? Simply append the "optimizely_log=true" parameter to any URL on your website with an experiment running and check the Javacript console. You'll see a highly verbal log of all that is happening. Want to programmatically execute experiments yourself? Checkout Optimizely's extensive API (https://www.optimizely.com/docs/api) Not just for beginners. Being "enterprise" doesn't have to mean being hard to use. See comment above. Very competitively priced. Offers competitive segmenting capabilities which allow you to target experiments based on location, operating system, device type, referral, javascript variables, cookie values, URL patterns of all kinds, and more. Supports mobile web testing with intuitive tools and emulators to create experiments specifically for mobile and tablet devices. Allows you to create custom user segments that can be reused across experiments. Ability to organize and group experiments under "Projects" which can have their own granular user permissions. Ex: Give a partner or member of your team admin access to one set of experiments and read-only access to others. Provides a very simple set of tools to create and track custom experiment goals such as "mouse click" events on a specific button or traffic goals to a specific URL. Ability to demo the product immediately without an initial sales call. With a recent $28 million round of investment, you can feel confident that Optimizely has the funding to stay in business for a long time and continue to disrupt this market. (http://blog.optimizely.com/2013/04/10/optimizely-raises-28-million-to-go-global/),Optimizely does not support the use of alternative algorithms for judging experiment winners such as those of the "bandit" and "adaptive" nature. I can only imagine that doing this would be highly complex, but the ability to select different algorithms could be killer and a true differentiator. I know of no other optimization software vendor that provides algorithmic choices for judging experiment performance. Optimizely is not yet able to ingest and segment off of more advanced and / or custom data sources such as your own CRM data, weather and census data, data from re-targeters like BlueKai, and other fancy data sets that some of the other major players have. There are ways to build work arounds via their segment API and custom targeting variables, but it would be nice if more advanced, pre-built segmentation conditions were included in the product. The integration with Google Analytics, while extremely easy to set-up, leaves a bit to be desired. Its dependent on Custom Variable slots of which you only get 5 if you are not GA Premium (most aren't), and it does things with visitor scope that make repeat visit conversion tracking challenging to do over the course of an experiment without custom Google Analytics JS code to manually set GA visitor scope. That said, there are also work arounds for this as well. There's no experiment version control. You'll often find yourself having to hard refresh while editing variations within an experiment without saving to revert your changes. Not the end of the world because there is this and other work arounds, but it's a nice to have. Again, it's important to point out that few have others have this capability.,10,To start, Optimizely is very competitively priced and dead simple to set-up and install, so the bar to start getting a return on your investment starts off low. From there, it's up to you. What ideas do you have to improve your digital business? Optimizely is a tool that will help you test and measure them, and quantifiably tell you if they work or not. Your return will be as good as your testing ideas.,10,A/B Testing Multivariate Testing A handy work around for CMS and E-Commerce platform limitations.,Implemented in-house,10,Self-taught,The basics of Optimizely are very easy to learn especially if you have web development experience including basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills. The documentation is solid. The community forums are fairly active, and the Optimizely admins regularly participate. However, the more advanced tips and tricks that the Optimizely support engineers know like the back of their hands are a little harder to find for the average user. Those tend to be gleamed during 1:1 sessions during support requests. It would be nice if Optimizely published more advanced "tips and tricks" video tutorials.,Yes,10Expensive But Awesome and Powerful Optimization ToolEasy to set up test variations, either with their visual tools or with Javascript. Easy to describe goals - can be clicks on a page element, page views, or custom Javascript. Can segment and target visitors based on URL, referral information, custom Javascript conditions, or a number of other variables. Good for previewing and testing variations prior to launching tests - has great live preview functionality and integrates with cross browser testing tools. Has good flexibility and control over implementation - especially important for avoiding the flash of unstyled content problem, as well as Javascript race conditions. API lets you integrate with Google Analytics or other third-party analytics system.,Javascript frontend sometimes loads slowly or requires refresh to load completely.,9,Varies from client to client and test to test.,,3,2,Website optimization.,10,Implemented in-house,10,Self-taught,Yes. Has a very intuitive user interface and lots of feature documentation.,No,8,9,9,7,Google Analytics,No,Visitor caps may be somewhat flexible.Using Optimizely Has Been a Boon For Our Business - Read this review to find out whyWe use Optimizely to perform conversion rate optimization for a variety of business needs but mostly for lead generation, e commerce, and brand engagement. Our parent company, Incubate, owns a variety of online properties and we use Optimizely to split test landing pages, concepts, and value propositions as well. Many companies make business decisions based a variety of data - except many cases, when it comes to their website. Using Optimizely we're able to help business leaders make decisions based on real data to back up the findings. This could be anything from value propositions to page layout. With Optimizely you can test just about any facet of a website and this is particularly valuable when it comes to the funnel.,Split testing unique value propositions - Honestly, split testing text could not be any easier AND the reporting that we're able to deliver is top notch. Experiments that allow you to segment visitors in a variety of ways. One example - first time visitors often behave much differently than repeat visitors. With Optimizely, you can set up tests that are unique to each group. Split testing by traffic source. Need a test just for Facebook users? Twitter users? Or any other referral source can be set up in a matter of minutes.,When you look at the price point of the platform there really aren't any "weak points" but as this format requires you to list something here they are. Reporting is great but I'd love a way to export all segments a bit easier like in Google analytics. I've heard the Optimizely team is working on this so we should see it soon I'd love a client manager like the "My Client Center" in google adwords we use to manage multiple paid search accounts with a single log in.,10,I've yet to come across a single website or business that didn't benefit from split testing. For lead gen, testing content can result in not just more leads, but better qualified ones as well. Learnings made from website testing can also be transferred to other mediums like email marketing, print, TV, and radio.,Google Analytics - Content experiments,Google website optimizer,9,10,10Test - get data - and decide!A/B Testing for changes to the website,Editing test variants Integrating with Analytics,Needs a little work on targeting - specificaly how it uses Cookies - it needs to spell out the exact full value - it would be good to use RegEx,10,Faster time to decision for data driven organizations. Easier implementation of new experiments. Easy to use reporting.,,7,10Considering A/B testing? Set up in minutes and move the marketing discussion from opinions to results. It is used for website optimization by the marketing team to improve web page and landing page lead conversion rates. e.g. testing call to action, name of tabs, color of buttons, length of forms, whether customer reviews or awards resulted in more leads.,Simple to set up and use Accessible to everyone on the marketing team; no web design technical knowledge required Solid results to make objective business decisions; eliminating well-intended but uninformed opinions,Would be nice to see an overall score trended over time for all tests. i.e. show the team whether overall the type of tests being run are improving or getting worse. Need to ensure this does not discourage testing. Some of the navigation is a little odd e.g. sometime things open in windows/tabs when you'd expect them to remain in the same window.,9,Increased lead conversion rate Increased click-through rate in the triple digits!!!! Decrease team discussion on what was the right thing to do.,9,3,0,A/B Call To Action Testing on Web Pages A/B Call to Action Testing on Landing Pages A/B Page Copy Testing on Landing Pages A/B Customer Testimonial Versus Awards Testing on Landing Pages,Implemented in-house,No,Change management was minimal,9A required tool in any online marketer's toolbox. We use Optimizely in the marketing department to tweak and modify our paid search landing pages for maximum conversion. It gives us the ability to see how people interact with our pages and see which assets are driving value. The ability to split into multiple variations gives us the flexibility we need to test on the fly.,Optimizely's user interface is simple enough to use and understand quickly. You can select elements to track by just clicking on them. Optimizely's goals are easy to set up. Optimizely has a lot of great resources that help educate it's users.,The way goal targeting works is a bit confusing. The snippet verification never seems to detect our snippet. Regardless, the tests run fine and are tracked properly.,8,Lead conversion has steadily grown with our iterative testing. We've seen what types of things leads are looking for through optimizely.,Crazy Egg,10Optimizely is a must-have resource for any business that has a strong investment in the digital atmosphere. We began using Optimizely in an effort to capture insights while continuing to develop our website with customers in mind. From I.T., Sales, and Marketing our business has become very in-tune with creating a more simplified approach to displaying products and information, making it easier for the customers to find the parts they need and fix their machines quickly.,A/B testing on-the-fly to measure multiple metrics efficiently. Easy implementation and reporting features makes beginning tests and tracking progress easy. A large database of resources to help those new to optimization set up their tests and expand their ability to use the software effectively.,The ability to group certain tests together and allow for one report would be nice. We test multiple pages at a time, and having the ability to look at one screen to track results would be a big win for us. Some delicate html or javascript does break when using Optimizely. So large-scale changes may be best handled by using redirects instead of the on-page tools.,9,We have been able to lift conversion rates and revenue over time since implementing Optimizely. Making decisions for website development has been made easier by knowing what is positively or negatively affecting customer experiences. Getting a better understanding of how customers interact with certain pages on our website has given us the tools to move forward with other website goals.,Visual Website Optimizer,10My go-to tool for a/b testingWe selected Optimizely as our main tool for a/b testing after trying Google Analytics Content Experiments and Visual Website Optimizer. It's easy to use by everyone in the Marketing team so they can quickly test their ideas.,It's very easy to use. Their support is excellent. On the technical side you add the code to the site only once and you don't have to create a new page for variation.,With bigger sites you can reach the monthly visitors limit pretty quickly.,10,We managed to increase our trial conversions.,Google Content Experiments,Visual Website Optimizer,10Easy and quick to setup and useI've used Optimizely at my previous employer and when I switched to my current employer two years ago I brought Optimizely over here as well. We brought it on mainly for frontend website testing - and have been very pleased with it! It's super easy to use - you just embed some code (same code for sitewide pages) and then go into the Optimizely tool and select which elements you want to switch out and what you'd like to switch out with. Super simple. Only basic HTML/CSS knowledge needed. They do have a WYSIWYG easy visual changer you can use to make changes to be tested, though with our site which is custom built in-house it doesn't give us the flexibility we need so we do need to know some basic HTML/CSS. I'd definitely recommend it!,Ease of use - point and click WYSIWYG editor if you like that method. Easy to setup - put code on all pages sitewide (with a simple include statement in the header) and you're ready to roll! Great price - compared to competing products you really can't beat the price!,Their code snippet (Javascript) that they run on the page has been HUGE - it keeps paused test code in the on page script... which gets unwieldy after you run lots of tests. Thankfully, Optimizely just announced that they're fixing this issue to lighten the code on the frontend. Haven't tried it yet though to see how well it works.,9,We've improved our customers site use experience considerably. By improving customer site use experience it's helped revenue as well.,Adobe Test and Target,5Optimizely helped us OptimizeWe use Optimizely to make simple A/B-tests on landing pages, product pages etc.,Great ease of use, also for users with little or no programming skills. So far, it has been possible to run most of the tests we've needed even though we could not forsee what the future would bring when we first decided to go with Optimizely rather than the alternatives. Fast and competent email support, ok knowledge base.,Segmented results are only available in the most expensive plan. WYSIWYG editor is not suitable to build completely new pages. Copy-Paste function missing in editor. Only one custom variable available for revenue, lead values etc.,8,Many minor improvements that had great impact. Sometimes the tests we've made showed that adding / removing even the smallest pieces of content made differences worth millions. The ability to argue against HIPPO's (highest paid persons oppinion) with qualified, accurate and indesputable data is always worth a lot. The ROI depends heavily on how much you use it and on your site, but to us, it has paid back manyfold.,Visual Website Optimizer,Adobe Test and Target,10You Need to Be Optimizing Your Website, and Optimizely is the Ideal Soltuion for Most CompaniesWe are currently using Optimizely for both multivariate and A/B testing our websites, and we have received some pretty big incremental wins. Optimizely is easy to use and affordable. I like that there are several tools to help cross-browser check the edits you make on the interface. There are more advanced options available, but for most companies, Optimizely should certainly be enough. (Especially since Google does not offer multivariate testing these days).,Multivariate Testing: Run many variation tests Easy to use: Can design changes within the interface and after the first install, no additional code is needed Cross-Browser Testing: Allows you to test the changes in many browsers,Advanced options: I have had some issues configuring very advanced tests,9,Increased lead conversion Increased sales conversion (Increase ROI of all other marketing campaigns),Google Content Experiments,Adobe Test and Target,9Brilliant product let down by speed issuesWhen I used Optimizely - and I still will be in future - it was just me at Engaging Networks who used it. We used it to help clients decide which of their fundraising pages converted better.,It's so easy to set up a split test even if you have no coding knowledge It's good at tracking the results You can do multivariate testing Great interface,The main problem I had with Optimizely is that it caused test pages to render much more slowly than pages where the Optimizely embed code wasn't being used. Given how important speed is to the web and to ROI, this is a serious problem, and as a result I try to use Optimizely as little as possible.,6,Ability to write better case studies for clients due to the learning we now have about what works and what doesn't for online fundraising.,,5Integral part of our approach to marketing & onboarding. We use Optimizely whenever we make a change to our www website or onboarding process. It allows us to see the true impact of our design, marketing, and onboarding decisions. This has been interesting because some things have no long-term impact and others do, yet they aren't always the pieces we'd imagine. (We also use KISSmetrics for long-term tracking, and tie it all together with Segment.io.),Easy to use. Whether we're doing redirects or changing the DOM, it's pretty easy to figure out. Segment.io integration. Makes it trivially easy to implement and to reuse our existing events and goals. Reasonable pricing.,Tests that involve redirects can be a little awkward to setup and modify. No serverside tracking for longer-term events. (We use KISSmetrics for this though, and Optimizely connects nicely with that.),10,Higher conversion rate from visitor to signup to paying customer.,Google Analytics,10A visual designer's point of viewI work as a product designer and Optimizely is being used by our team to test out growth and customer acquisition projects. Optimizely helps us quickly design, develop and launch temporary tests on our website without having to engage all of our engineering resources, or disrupting the core features of our sight. It is also invaluable in terms of gathering user data based on our tests.,Great user interface that I was able to learn quickly. I was up and running within one hour. Optimizely creates temporary interactive layers, almost like "stickers" that can be placed, replaced and adjusted without major repercussions sitewide. Since we started using Optimizely, we are able to take more creative risks and see what helps reach our customers and what doesn't. As a designer, it is great to get in there and make minor tweaks to alignment and typography without having to take up a developer's time.,It would be wonderful to see the design WSYISWG interface expanded. Right now it works well, but is somewhat limited.,9,Definitely increased employee efficiency and better use of in-house resources Our customer base is growing every day based on the learnings we have gotten from our testing, thanks to Optimizely! We are able to continue experimenting with new creative ways to introduce users to our product.,,9If you have $ to spend, Optimizely A/B testing lifts conversion ratesWe use Optimizely across Clever Zebo for A/B testing, both for us and clients.,User experience is simple Feature-rich tool As a marketer you can set up your site for A/B testing and rarely need a developer's help Great customer support.,Can't think of a bad thing about it. Great tool. Maybe it's a bit pricey.,10,A/B tests have shown big conversion rate improvements for our clients. We've also seen big lifts in engagement.,Google Content Experiments,Visual Website Optimizer,10Optimizely ReviewOptimizely is being used by our marketing department and product/service department. We use the tool to conduct multivariate tests in order to improve conversion rates and the overall customer experience. Improving conversion rate ultimately ties to the success of the entire business, so the Optimizely tool is great in that employees without technical experience can easily create and optimize multivariate tests.,Ability to easily insert texts and images into web pages Allowing for detailed targeting options Optimizing desktop and mobile pages separately,Page load time Including anchor text Creation of new pages,7,Increase conversion rates Increased number of tests conducted Improved customer experience,Kenshoo Search,8Optimizely, a solid conversion and optimization toolOptimizely is used by our Digital Strategy team to manage not only our own web properties but those of our clients as well. Optimizely provides a lightweight solution to our optimization needs and makes it easy to apply solid strategies across all of our products. The product is easy to use, easy to learn and packed full of powerful solutions.,A/B Testing Code optimization Experiment with changes before going live Conversion tracking,Interface can be confusing for some Pricing,8,Enhanced ability to track custom conversions Easier to target hot spots on pages and optimize for them,UnBounce,8Optimizely: Solid A/B testing solutionOur client has been happy with the tools. The set-up and execution of experiments is relatively simple. It has been used extensively to test content, banners, sign-ups, and product locations.,The design needs of the client has required a lot of developer experience to create test content and integration with site functionality that's not 'out of the box'.,In my current role I am not measuring the product performance.,8,7,4,1,A/B & Multivariate testing on a retail website.,,Professional services company,7,Self-taught,Product training is always preferred over self-training. This helps to have multiple people with a similar product skill-set available to assist with projects and train others to the same level of expertise.,There has been a lot of experiment integration with site functionality like email sign up, add-to-cart, product display grids/positions, custom espots with additional functionality, etc.,No,8,5,9,7,Adobe Analytics (Site Catalyst) Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager,Many of our clients also use eBay Enterprise Attribution (formerly ClearSaleing).,,N/AOptimizely - The A/B Testing Tool to Rule them AllThe best thing about Optimizely is how quick and easy it is to use. With one line of JavaScript, you are able to install Optimizely on your website and start testing. Design and dev work is no longer a bottleneck to start testing. Simply open up the Optimizely dashboard and use their WYSIWYG editor (What you see is what you get) to start changing content. If you are lucky enough to have design and dev resources, then you can simply create a redirect test that points to your new design.,The product excels at creating tests quickly and getting up and running. Results are also easy to read and no dev experience is necessary to get started.,We have been able to lift our conversion rates by 30% across various content assets since running Optimizely. This has, of course, had an effect on increasing signups and increasing revenue.,10,10,6,2,Optimizely is used to A/B test our entire website and marketing landing pages. By creating different types of content around different products and features, across different sources of traffic, we are able to test various messaging to find the 'optimal' one that works for a specific segment.,Implemented in-house,10,Self-taught,Optimizely has a lot of documentation on how to use their product. Reading these docs and experimenting with the product is the best way to get acquainted.,We added a custom event to Optimizely, to track a signup event from our application, in addition to Optimizely page view and click goals.,Yes,10,8,10,9,We have integrated Optimizely with CrazyEgg and Mixpanel.,Optimizely is very worth it for the priceSite optimization is one of the most critical activities of a product manager. It allows you to test different experiences against each other to learn which is most effective for customers. Optimizely allows you to do this very easily. It may not be as robust as something like Adobe Test & Target, however for the price it's beyond worth it.,One thing it does not appear to have is the ability to segment an A/B test into different customer demographics. If it's there, then it's hard to find.,You can increase your revenue per visitor and overall site conversion which pays for itself.,10,10

Overall it it one of the best if not the best tool in the market. It has all the features we need and seems to be growing functionality so that there is a future with them as we grow our needs. The only issue could be price increases that we keep an eye on.

Because it's an incredible and essential tool for my line of work as a conversion optimization specialist. Really couldn't do my job nearly as effectively without it. It's paid for itself many times over and I feel like I'm only beginning to unlock the tools potential.

We're concerned about possibly scaling to a point where the cost of Optimizely may go out of reach. It's the best tool out there. We're considering the possibility of switching to an inferior solution.

For the job, and for the PRICE, Optimizely is the best tool that we've come across. We've had plenty of experience with other platforms and I can't think of an instance in which I've wished that we were using a different testing platform. Talk is cheap though, so I'd recommend giving their free trial a test drive.

So far we have been able to uncover key elements of website traffic, design, and development that can increase usability. From the testing we've currently done, we could not be more happier with the results we've achieved and we're excited about continuing to optimize our website to achieve far greater results in the future.

It's very affordable and easy to use, so I want to renew it. However, we're currently testing Optimizely to see if the code running on our paid search (Adwords) landing pages is affecting quality score. It appears it may be affecting quality score, and if we determine that it is then we'll stop using Optimizely and look at other solutions.

We would be very likely to renew our use of Optimizely because we believe that the benefits far outweigh the cost of the product. With Optimizely, we're able to conduct numerous tests which allow us to discover conversion rate improvements, ROI improvements, and increased business efficiencies. The direct benefits from the tests that we've conducted have exceeded cost of Optimizely.
