Sharing and collaboration capabilities are great. The security of data is on top priority, meaning, only someone with the appropriate access can view the information. All the security controls are available to the dataset owners and they can enable access to groups or individual recipients. Once the access has been provisioned, the user can even view the required info via a mobile device.

While it is quite easy to add a ton of different users into Oracle Analytics server and have them all play around with the same set of permissions, actually creating a micro segmented workforce with different roles and permissions that are applicable to their unique roles is quite a challenge or impossible.

All bases are covered here as usual by Oracle. If you do not have one collaboration program that integrates easily, then Oracle will be sure to have many that will.

Security reinforces all the necessary standards, in addition to keeping data safe, complying with the world's main privacy and data protection laws. Another very positive point is the way that the end-user can contribute to the validation of reports and dashboards and collaboration between teams in reusing data cubes or data lakes.

This is probably one of the best tools in this aspect. The agents make it a breeze to use this tool. There are multiple ways the report can be scheduled for delivery and the recipients can be easily selected . The delivery object can also be selected based on pre determined conditions while allow fool proof delivery

OIBEE has impressive features, access controls and ease of sharing reports and dashboards. Most of these features are available to the end-users which makes it self-service. Report distribution thru on demand of via schedule is quite heavily used in the company. There are various formatting options available and PDF is the most common option.

Sharing reports across teams and publishing reports on an intranet is a breeze. Collaboration with other data sources is very useful and a must. Since it is access based, roles can be set up for all user-types. We had to set this up in our organization as it was being used by a large number of users.

Perhaps the biggest limitation of Oracle BI is that the software does not have a very large user base. So, sharing with non-corporate users is generally more limited. With that said, the ability to control access is fine. The software also makes it easy to share across data teams and to schedule reports. The software needs to become more wide-spread.

Good capabilities for access control and rest of the standard security needs. Integration with mobile and its sharing capabilities are good as well. They claim some more advanced sharing and bursting features which should be good but we haven’t used those and would be interested to see the effectiveness.

The scheduling features available on OBIEE 11g are simply great. Report generation can be triggered in many ways - scheduling based on time, event-based triggers, data-driven triggers that are enabled based on certain fields or criteria, etc. While the scheduling features are quite well developed, the visualization tools, however, leave much to be desired for. OBIEE could really incorporate several charting tools available in most other business intelligence tools available.

Oracle BI Foundation Suite was taken into consideration for usage in the enterprise-wide need for reporting and they have really nicely taken care of all parts of all access control, sharing and data security features.

We have a fairly complex structure, with many areas and many levels of responsibility, and must ensure that each user has access to all the information he requires, and only to it. However, with this tool we were able to solve these needs quite well.

The tool does not allow sharing of data via FTP or on Sharepoint location whereas it does allow sharing the data by scheduling to email and shared locations. It does allow a few standard formats of report extraction like PDF, Excel and CSV but does not support report publication or broadcasting.

Once you create a report using Business Intelligence, there many ways to share the report. You can burst multiple reports to run at any given time and have them emailed to specified users, or you can run one report at a time and if it's going to take a long time to run, you can set it to automatically generate the report and email it to any person that you choose. Formatting a report is quite easy -- all done while writing the report -- but you can export in multiple popular formats like Excel, PDF, and MS-DOS.
