We are looking to both use and sell products that help us monitor and aggregate data for us and our clients. Oracle's name and reputation are one that is not surpassed. We believe using advanced analytical programs, like Oracle's, will help us stay on top of emerging technologies as well as accomplish our goal of utilizing the data of our company and clients to its fullest.
  • Find anomalies.
  • Understand anomalies.
  • Fix anomalies.
  • Help prevent the problems that it shows us.
  • More AI but with human back up.
  • Less mumbo jumbo so even IT guys/gals can more easily work.
  • More statistics (math) and orientation for those not familiar with it.
  • More live as well as virtual (live) show casing of real situations in business.
Oracle, for anyone that is slightly interested in the goings-on within companies, especially large influential ones on a world scale, know that like IBM and such, is soo admired, that even entities larger than it, have tried to 'knock it' down. But as in life and with man, it is impossible to keep a good thing 'down'. :)

  • We are still reviewing this.
  • So far we believe we will be using this product in the future more and more.
  • The speed and smoothness of the interfaces are a pleasure to use even with 'boring' stuff!
  • Acoustic Analytics (formerly IBM Watson Customer Experience Analytics)
IBM is also a very fine contributor in these fields of software engineering. They like Oracle are the masters of large data, whether for large entities, or small shops.

Mainly IT and business (accounting and such).
  • The sky is the limit and will only get better the more we learn from it.
  • Check the general state of our modules.
  • Check the state of our clients data.
  • Research for future use and expansion (of both our company and the BI).
  • The great extent that AI has come over the last decade.
  • Checking to see how 'correct' certain predictions are.
It is only a matter of time for us to fully integrate and expand to Oracle products.

We are still researching & testing. I am sure we will be using this product(s) more and more as time goes on with our company and clients.
Nothing.
  • Implemented in-house
Yes
Typical learning curve because it was a completely new entity.
Change management was minimal
Enjoyed/enjoying the options and new ideas that this program has brought.
  • Learning curve, which is normal.
  • Still researching purchase.
Like most other large implementations of such technical programs, it pays to plan as much upfront as possible, and this is why we are researching this great product so much.
  • Online training
It was a private training site.
Seems just right. We are still implementing it but we don't envision any serious problems based on the trial/demo.
Only what the docs suggest and in-house knowledge based on our requirements.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
It is there for the taking when we are ready.
No, however, we may in the future should we decide to buy.
It is surprisingly smooth and covers areas we never contemplated.
No
No.. we have not had any issues that required that.
  • Finding issues.
  • Fixing the issues.
  • Help to prevent these issues.
  • some terms we are not familiar with.
  • areas not connected to our business.
Yes, but I don't use it
It is like a Christmas gift to a child with the myriads of options and modules.
We have seen the results of this in our initial research and are not surprised that Oracle does this like it does soo many other things in this area, so well.
No problems, it's that simple.
Other than anomalies or expected quirks, there were never any earth-shattering delays.
  • Our in house modules.
We are still attempting this and so far no issues.
  • Any future programs of ours will be considered.
  • Other monitor type programs possibly (ie Nagios, etc.).
Yes.
  • File import/export

PHP programming. C language.
We are not done testing or we would give it a 10.
You could not find a better candidate.

At the time we used the software it was being utilized by a specific department, account management and technology consulting. The information/data is passed down through all departments (the reporting) but management uses it to determine where time is spent for clients, employees, reoccurring issues, etc. This product is nice so we from an IT prospective can pass off ownership and utilization of the actual product to other members of the team/department so we can continue to manage backend reporting. Once in-house members and clients are taught how to use the software, IT can take a step back and not have to run needed reports.
  • Reporting, for our company and when recommending it to our clients its a huge selling point.
  • Especially the granular graphs, they can be adjusted for what each needed person (CFO, CEO, Managers) specifically requires.
  • It's also helpful to determine where the "bottlenecking" could be occurring within workflow.
  • Although after a quick tutorial or testing from an IT end, some users struggle with learning the software.
  • This is not uncommon for a learning curve but having quicker resources to point users to for learning would be beneficial. Something such as a direct video less than 5 minutes on how to complete specific functions will help the training.
Honestly, IT appreciates the product however pricing is a huge concern when pitching new incentives to clients or internally. We know this going into these meetings and having a proper presentation helps secure a better foundation when pitching to the team. We've been very detailed and straight to the point at the same time which helps. However a small/medium size company has been difficult to pull off. Having a plan that will work overtime for these companies will help get the product in use for clients to see the full potential and consider long term usage.
Oracle is a solid company with solid products. There support has been better then others (depending on service plans) however still very good. There are other options out there such as Salesforce, AutoTask, Sharepoint even PRTG. However they are not as detailed and visually easy to understand(the data as well as the ability to perform in-depth customization of that data).

The questions were fair for the outlined product. I like the option where I can select that I haven't used that "feature" which helps make for a more accurate review.

Yes
In phases each part was confirmed working before the next step. Typical best practices.
Change management was minimal
Tricks of the trade, to keep all associated members in the loop of any major implementations; on both ends.
  • Scheduling downtime.
  • Licensing from all needed software vendors, determining network/hardware resources appropriately.
  • Configuring the virtual machines correctly.
Typical product roll out however once again support was with us at all times.
Yes
Yes most of the time we push for this or ball it in with other Oracle packages when adding BI.
It's fast, efficient and easy to work with. Scheduling could help when planning out a day however overall it's a big plus when rolling out and supporting Oracle.
No
We had a highly visable database authentication issue which was resolved by reinstalling a few components via the command line which resolved the issue. This was huge and it was impressive they made it a priority (it needed to be) and in reasonable time.
  • Reporting
  • Troubleshooting (database management)
  • Dashboard
  • Teaching the staff. It's easy to use however there is always the learning curve.
  • More short video's for staff to review on their own for specific tasks.
For me or a staff memeber that uses it frequently, its usability is sufficient. However newbies could have a few issues but find their workflow.

Endeca is good fit for multi billion dollar companies who are trying to derive value from unstructured data.
  • Endeca uncovers patterns and relationships in your data that traditional BI tools are not built for.
  • Endeca has been used for a wide variety of business problems including warranty support, directing social media spending, and optimizing staffing efficiency.
  • Endeca is not well suited for small or medium sized businesses.
This is a very pricey product that needs to be heavily aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. Simply put, this is best suited for very large companies who have large data sets and large problems to solve. This is a poor fit for small or medium sized business that just need to do light analytics.
Endeca has been implemented by one of the largest professional services organizations in the world that requires hundreds of complex visualizations on top of a large number of data sources. The solution is available to thousands of global users. This product was designed for consuming Big Data in large enterprises. This fact combined with Endeca's text enrichment and content acquisition features single Endeca out from the competition.
This software is enterprise class and while other vendors do offer alternatives, they don't have the proven track record that Oracle has in the enterprise space.
  • Oracle Endeca Information Discovery helps solve problems associated with analyzing both structured and unstructured data. Endeca is used to find better ways to listen to customers, improving the relationship between companies and their employees and customers.
  • In short, this is a data discovery tool that goes beyond the capacities of traditional BI.

Professionals with a BI background can install and solution with this tool, but training gives you exposure to ETL architecture and best practices that you might not otherwise learn on your own.
