Reviews
(201-225 of 245)Successful campaigns drive business revenue
- Data analysis and insights from campaigns have proven that marketing initiatives have driven the bottom line
- All client services staff are knowledgeable and provided valuable insight into our business strategy
- The Maxymiser UI allows for simple tests to be created by all staff very quickly and released same-day; and more complex MVT campaigns to be coded and QA'd by devs
- Improving report functionality - though I believe this is already in progress
Maximum happiness with Maxymiser
- A perfectly placed tool within the market. With Maxymiser you have the flexibility to create and manage tests without technical expertise using their Visual Campaign Builder, but you also have the technical expertise available (as part of their managed service) to create more complex tests that really help address key business priorities.
- Supplier relationship is key to ensure an efficient testing pipeline. The level of service received has been excellent. Responses are clear and timely, tests are managed and QA'd effectively and our account team are fun to work with.
- Confidence in data and results. We have Maxymiser integrated with Google Analytics and we see parity in results and claims from our tests. This has ensured confidence across the business in the tool.
- The interface isn't the prettiest or intuitive thing in the world! However once training is complete it is easy to use and most importantly the data is accurate.
However as we operate a large scale and complex ecommerce site, simple WYSWIG tools can't meet all our needs. That is why a hybrid provider like Maxymiser meets those needs perfectly. We have the flexibility to make the changes we can with their Visual Campaign Builder (WYSWIG editor), but we also have the support and technical expertise to create tests that we are confident work across browsers and devices.
I have used optimisation tools at both ends of the spectrum (simple to very complex). Maxymiser for me has been the perfect blend between the two, which means we can get more tests onto the site and more benefit for our business.
- Success of Maxymiser is due to the technology and the great level of support that Maxymiser is able to provide. They are reliable on project plan timing which has often proven to be particularly accurate
- Maxymiser Platform has proven to be scalable enough to support high traffic levels which helps for big audience websites known for high pics of traffic notably
- Quality of development is indeed appreciated, the deliverables are very well tested and almost always can go directly live
- Maxymiser is currently missing a test on native application for mobile.
- Maximizer’s platform is efficient, but it could be also improved by adding more filtering possibilities to get more detailed analysis.
Eloqua, the Superior
- Email Campaigns- I drive events, and use all facets of Eloqua: E-mail, landing page, form, confirmation pages, integration with SF, auto-alerts, list segments, reporting, etc. It's a sophisticated all-in-one platform.
- Nurturing Campaigns - the campaign tool is the most robust of anything out there. It allows you to do basically anything you want, like creating assignment rules based on the lead's actions. Once you set up the campaign, you don't have to worry about it again. You can make it as automated as you want.
- Intuitive - stores and keeps information in an intuitive way without duplicating leads. We're able to see a full lead lifecycle
- It does not duplicate leads whatsoever, but sometimes that can be an issue - I work in the channel, and sometimes it's necessary to duplicate leads so that one lead registration doesn't override another partner's registration.
- Only allows us to push inquiries into SalesForce when it would be helpful for Eloqua to allow us to push suspects in there so we don't have to upload them directly to SF.
- Wish it had better integration with WebEx
Maxymiser is a winning AB test solution.
- AB and true multivariate testing.
- Automated and real-time data analysis.
- Deep knowledge of the testing process which leads to good consulting around good test design.
- The test specification process could be cleaner, quicker and definitely more tailored to a more general web services and development community.
- "Coding" a test (going from spec to launch) could be MUCH faster, and, having a simple, ready-made template for simple AB element swaps or AB page redirects would be a BIG win. A simple, every-day test like that should take hours rather than days to launch.
Powerful tool, great people
- Training - I attended a 3-day training session in Maxymiser's NYC office. I learned everything from basic testing concepts to how to set up a campaign in the tool. Our instructor was very engaging and knowledgeable and our account reps were there to answer questions along the way.
- Service - Our dedicated team at Maxymiser is extremely helpful, responsive and willing to answer any questions we have in a very timely manner. They understand our business because they have been in our shoes in their previous jobs and they focus on our industry/sector with their other clients too. I've really enjoyed working with them so far.
- Setting up a campaign in the tool can be a little complicated; there are a lot of different steps involved and if it's not something that you do every day it's hard to jump in and do it yourself. We rely on our account managers to do the large-scale test set-up for us and if it's a really complicated build-out then it can eat away at a lot of our allotted hours.
- Their 'out-of-the-box' testing tool, Visual Campaign Builder, is easier to use for a non-developer like myself, but the types of tests you can set up are limited to simple A/B tests on single pages. I know they are working on building this out and making improvements, which I am excited about because it will enable us to have more tests going on at any given time that I can set up myself.
- Maxymiser is able to track several metrics at once which allows the business to see the overall picture and make educated decisions on tests.
- The user interface is clear and it's east to see when a test has reached statistical significance.
- The ability to pause tests (self service) is a nice feature to have in the event it's needed.
- The Visual Campaign Builder allows business users to run small A/B tests while more complex tests are being run.
- Maxymiser collaborated with us on test design and ideas to help us run powerful tests with meaningful insights.
- While there is the ability to create scheduled reports to get emailed to users, it would be nice to be able to do this on a batch basis instead of one off.
- Some reports almost have too many options of how to slice the data and can get somewhat confusing when you have multiple tests running simultaneously and need to run each report slightly differently.
- Another nice feature would be the ability to edit an existing scheduled report instead of having to delete it and recreate it.
Eloqua
- Campaign management and execution with the campaign canvas is best in the market
- Writing to custom data objects in SFDC
- Webinar management within Eloqua and its various end point solutions via cloud connectors.
- Since Oracle took over support has been more red taped
- The application itself could support more browsers
- The application behaves slowly and erratically at times in different browsers.
Solid Platform for those with the resources
- Publisher Diversity - Their exchange has pipes laid with the "who's who" of publishers providing a great conduit for our data to meet publishers.
- Strong Customer Service - While there is plenty of documentation available online, it is nice having help a quick phone call away via our account manager.
- Reporting - There is a lack of solid ah-hoc reporting in terms of data purchases and transactions. This makes it difficult for us to see what data points are hot and selling.
You won't sing the blues when you use BlueKai
- They have a wide variety of 3rd party segments to access at a fair price
- They have a very solid DMP offering
- They have great behavioral data that is "in market" which is really the key to 3rd party data, especially in RTB based environments where we are targeting cookies not sites
- Data is fairly priced but still tot expensive, especially for programmatic where clients are looking for efficiency in CPM pricing
- You can utilize recency in terms of when a user hits a segment but that sometimes kills scale
- Data in general isn't always actionable - we want to say that everyone is "in-market" but that's not always the case and because of it's pricing sometimes BT just doesn't perform as a tactic compared to other tactics like 1st party retargeting or various types of contextual and search retargeting tactics.
- This product has the best marketing automation out there, period. Very robust database, great email sends of all volumes, and allows for very complex, specialized marketing.
- The interface is actually quite difficult to use. While Eloqua 10 does the setup of campaigns much easier, creating an e-mail is actually very difficult. Beginner users basically cannot use this product without significant training and technical ability. Bugs and issues have cropped up quite a bit.
- Allows you to define and target key audience segments - you must be sure to be collecting this data from your contacts however.
- Presents results data well - can function like a pivot table in order to organize the data however is best for your needs.
- Scheduling tool allows easy visibility of all activity across account for all of our ecommerce outlets
- Simple to launch and evaluate a/b campaigns
- The platform is more difficult to operate than other tools I've used
- Seemingly tiny html "errors" can result in emails not test launching - know code well if managing this tool
- Tool couldn't be integrated fully with our existing website platform, so some of the cart abandonment/custom imagery features are not able to function
Powerful "Must Have" in a Modern Marketer's Technology Stack + Topliners Community is Unmatched!
- Our Eloqua Power Users are able to develop simple to advanced campaign workflows directly from Eloqua's Campaign Canvas. It provides them with the benefit of visualizing the entire flow from one view versus having to jump from module to module with little sense of the bigger picture. Plus, they're able to easily repurpose Campaigns to use again and again, modifying them as needed, versus having to create everything from scratch each time.
- Eloqua's Lead Scoring functionality is well-suited to our needs for multiple solution-driven scoring models. It's entirely automated, from web-based triggers and other key updates, and allows us to score on both key implicit and explicit attributes. It also integrates the co-dynamic rating directly to SFDC which allows our sales teams to easily prioritize and rank leads for follow-up. It's flexible enough that we're able to make modifications as our scoring requirements change with a few clicks.
- Our Marketing Operations team manages the integration, system-level programming, deliverability monitoring and technical support for our Eloqua Power Users. We're in control of the bi-directional integration with SFDC and we're able to easily create and custom data objects in Eloqua (unlike other marketing automation platforms). Also, Eloqua's deliverability best practices - along with our strict internal processes - help keep our Sender Scores across our dedicated IP's very high.
- Eloqua University + Topliners Community ROCKS! Eloqua University is an excellent resource to help build new knowledge and skills as well as provide ongoing education as the Eloqua platform continues to keep pace with the ever-changing marketing landscape. And Topliners? It's my home away from home, so to speak... The generosity of this modern marketing community to help others - from actual "how to do it's" to lessons learned to higher level marketing thought leadership (and the gamification component, complete with a leader board, badges, etc...) - make Topliners THE place to be for modern marketers. Period.
- Eloqua's AppCloud is a game-changer - we're able to take the power of Eloqua and amplify it in terms of video marketing, event management, interactive content, appending data - the list goes on and on... Literally. Our Marketing Operations team manages this as well to help drive our automated marketing initiatives to the next level.
- Most importantly, we'd like to see Eloqua's Insight and Analyzer functionality boosted to better match our analytics, reporting and dashboard needs. While I've seen both meet the needs of other clients via updates shared on Eloqua's Topliners Community, we're not currently able to segment and visualize the data to fully meet all of our reporting requirements. However, it's not a roadblock as we simply export Eloqua data to our enterprise data warehouse and create Tableau and QlikView reports.
Marketing Automation Coordinator using Eloqua for B2C
- Education and support resources are outstanding. I am continually impressed by their online Topliners community and the amount of idea sharing that is on there. Their support is very quick to get back to me on both technical and larger strategy issues. I also went through the Eloqua Success Coach program and highly recommend it to any onboarding clients. I was able to create a full strategy to get the most out of Eloqua.
- The platform (E10) is user friendly and well designed. Campaigns are easy to understand and visually lay out, segments are clearly defined, and the email editor is an easy way to design good looking emails.
- We use a number of complicated custom data fields that Eloqua was able to handle quite well with minimal issues.
- For us, we'd like to see a move to being able to customize the key identifier. Currently the only option is to uniquely identify people via their email address. We'd like to be able to use an ID number
- I wish segments were more editable on the fly, and even more detail in defining them.
- The product, while very powerful, takes a significant amount of education and practice before you can start using it to its true potential. There are still important elements (such as their Program Builder) that are in "E9" functionality and more confusing to use for those who were introduced from the start to E10.
I think it's a really incredibly product, and again I can't stress enough how awesome their resources are for both the day-to-day user as well as the executive level to use to maximize their investment. I absolutely recommend the product.
A leading software for marketing cloud and automation
Eloqua is a very efficient and up to date software with a wide range of functions. Oracle gives a high level of support for process definition and technical issues and the high speed development of the platform bodes well for evolution and enhancement with new exciting features.
Perfect software for marketing management through automation.
- Campaign management
- Lead rating
- Sync with CRM
- Dynamic content
Simple approach to parameterization sometimes leads to poor process or to complicated ones. The key point is to well manage process before setup in Eloqua.
Good to be a Eloquean
- Eloqua Insight - Custom reporting
- Email campaigning made so easy without learning more tools
- Visual Click through report in E10
- More friendly video tutorials in topliners for new users
Eloqua: Marketing automation for today and tomorrow
- Dynamic email content - allows you to target the contact with information that is key and important to them
- Lifecycle marketing - creates programs that give the you a progressive touch point with your contact over a period of time.
- Reporting - at your fingertips information on the success of your email marketing initatives and campaigns
- Customer service - as they grow in scale, they have to also grow in custoemr responsiveness. They had a few glitches when purchased by Oracle but they are getting better
- Update releases - sometimes a new update can cause a few hiccup in the instances but this is always a change with any software platform
- Launching features - sometimes the great new bells and whistles are not always provided in the version of the software you're using. This can be a downfall to your creative progression in the tool.
Eloqua in the Enterprise - it's not as complex as you think
- The lead scoring module in E10 is a huge step in the right direction - great upgrade. This makes it very turnkey for an organization to implement a sophisticated lead scoring system out of the box.
- Campaign canvas is also a very nice upgrade. I like that it's very visual and intuitive. I feel there's room for improvement, but this is a great place to start out with campaigns, testing scenarios and more.
- Minimal training is required for those that consider themselves fairly tech savvy. Eloqua is a very user friendly platform and generally intuitive. Pay special attention to implementing your business' specific rules and you'll be all good.
- I'd like to see at a glance reporting from the campaign canvas - something between the short reports you find under "settings" and the large, complex reports in Insight
- Difficult to see email batch send stats *before* you send (like you could in E9). Now, on campaign canvas, you just have to hope it's all set up properly - there's no pre-analysis to give you an idea of what will happen once you activate.
Close the gap utilizing automation
- Customer Community's willingness to share insights and successes is second to none.
- Seamless integration to SalesForce.
- The ability to manage multiple companies campaigns.
- Great strides have been made in the ease of use, however there are still some features that are hard to use. For example, sending specific results to sales people.
- Training is expensive. I find that the Customer Community is my best resource.
- The cost is prohibitive for many companies. it is worth it, but still difficult in this economy.
2. Have you defined your marketing goals?
Eloqua - She Drives Me Crazy... but I can't help myself...
- Forms - easily deployed to both internal and external sites with full tracking.
- Landing Pages - easily created and require a low skill threshold to deploy.
- Templates - whether forms, email, or landing pages it's easy to reuse content.
- API - not enough of the underlying database is exposed. Specifically - it's difficult to attribute an "action" to a campaign.
- Data Manipulation - specifically the fields to make complex decisions aren't always available and you may have to switch between the campaign canvas and program builder to access what is available.
- Bulk Export - never worked right since E10 was released. Old legacy jobs developed in E9 still give data that we are not able to export. I don't think Eloqua understands the problem since I've received multiple answers in response to "why can't I export activities through your UI?".
Eloqua from a Partner-Customer Hybrid Point-of-View
- The interface to build campaigns is very intuitive and simple, yet ready for large enterprises.
- With a limited amount of training, I was able to create a moderately-complex campaign.
- The Campaign Canvas allows marketers to think like marketers, and it provides shortcuts to manage all of the campaign-related assets, whether they are a one-time or multiple use.
- I would love to see some of the "Eloqua 9" (legacy interface) updated to match Eloqua 10.
- The majority of the functions a marketer needs are handled in the Campaign Canvas, which is beautiful, but for some of the integration work and program builder, the old interface can get in the way. This would be a very nice to have, but nothing is "broken" about it. I would recommend Oracle address this as a medium priority in the Eloqua road map.
Eloqua Great? Oh, indeed.
- Being able to save and reopen the whole campaign, rather than just emails sent.
- Being able to track who has engaged with the messaging sent, and more importantly who hasn't, to target follow ups.
- Self-contained ecosystem allows more than one actor to work on the campaigns, essentially in real time, and even remotely, if needed.
- User interface is not as intuitive as some software suites I've seen.
- The fact that there is a whole community to help learn Eloqua, and even an Eloqua University, speaks to the complexity of the solution, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can make it hard to onboard as a user.
Eloqua: Solid Choice for Large Businesses
- Eloqua allows easy flexibility to integrate with other platforms like Salesorce, DemandBase, and reporting software.
- Eloqua offers strong product implementation training, with options for on-site, webinar and phone training.
- Eloqua provides a sleek interface in its e10 environment to create automated programs in a manner that any marketer could understand without the support of an IT team.
- While Eloqua allows for a lot of heavy customization (especially with integrations), they often forget to incorporate that flexibility with version upgrades. For example, they have started to restrict customization potential in recent releases, which puts legacy customers in a bind.
- Eloqua does not mandate or allow a customer to consistently enforce naming conventions or folder structures among files in Eloqua, leading to a nightmare of data down the road. We would like to be able to set a naming convention and know that all Eloqua users will have to use it.
- Eloqua lacks the best practice/thought leadership expertise of some competitors like HubSpot. They are a tool - not marketing experts. This isn't a reason not to buy, but if you're a small marketing shop, consider someone with more robust marketing offerings.
Email Marketing Ease and Amazing Tech Support
- Email marketing
- Customer support
- User Interface
- Ability to write notes on the canvas.
- Ability to edit the dates via typing and not searching the calendar
- You shouldn't be able to activate a canvas if an email on the canvas has a signature block but no assigned signature.
The King of Marketing Automation
- Campaign Canvas - The campaign canvas is particular user-friendly and very effectively allows you to visualise your campaign structure.
- Program Builder - although built on technology from a previous version of Eloqua (E9), the Program builder is a useful function to allow you to run processes bespoke to your requirements.
- Email/Landing Page Editor - By far the best editor for creating emails and landing pages giving the flexibility you you wouldn't find with most ESPs.
- Reporting - the standard reporting is OK but to get any meaningful stats (i.e. ROI) you need to upgrade your subscription. If you want to have the freedom to customise your reports it is yet another subscription add-on. We have often reverted to Salesforce reporting where possible.
