Reviews
(176-200 of 245)Marketing Automation worked on me.
- Stellar support. Being new to marketing automation, it was important to partner with a company that would provide the quality of customer support that we knew we would need to succeed. After a lengthy review of several offerings that included many personal references, we chose to go with Eloqua because they were consistently cited as best-in-class. And the experience I had with them during the sales process proved that out.
- The App Cloud. Very much like Salesforce, Eloqua has a huge selection of apps that extend functionality and integrate Eloqua with third-party solutions. Many of the best ones are free. For example, one of Eloqua University's course covers data quality. In the course, you learn how to set up a "contact washing machine" which is a back-end process that weeds out junk contacts, corrects capitalization, and augments contact data with a third party like data.com. Except for the data.com subscription, all of this functionality is built-in and free.
- Eloqua University. It's true, Eloqua is a bit more of a complicated platform. The basics are quite easy to learn, but real power is unlocked by power users. Eloqua University offers practical classes that teach how to use the platform, strategic classes that help you become a better marketer, and everything in between. The instructors and content are top-shelf.
- Campaign Canvas. This is the killer app. The campaign canvas allows you to create complex workflows with many decision points and complicated timings with incredible ease. The visio-style whiteboard interface makes it easy to understand how the campaign will execute.
- Topliners. An amazing community of Eloqua users who are passionate about the product and love to help others along their way.
- Program builder is a power-user feature, but eventually you will need to learn how to use it. There isn't as much documentation for program builder, and some of what you'll find is outdated. Through either trial and error or a call to support, it is possible to get it done.
- My Oracle Support can be tricky to navigate. There are a few more hoops to jump through to get to the Eloqua team, but it's possible. There is a group on Topliners that helps you work the system.
- Cost. On the lower end, it's more expensive than other tools, or at least that's the perception. In reality, to get the same features as the closest competitor, you'll pay the same price. And the popular solution at the low end of the market gets way more expensive feature-for-feature. Still, the perception is there and you might have to do some convincing if others in your organization are fans of other solutions.
- It's still an obscure market. This is not really a problem with Eloqua so much as it is for marketing automation in general. Marketing automation (inbound marketing, content marketing) is a relatively young competency and as such many marketers are unaware, unskilled, or posing as experts. Executives may need to be sold on the strategy many times. And it does take considerable investment (capital and time) to see the kinds of ROI that is touted in the thought leadership.
Great product and Eloqua community is incredible!
- The ability to easily manage campaigns is great. The have increased the intuitiveness of campaign building and have an error bubble reports when something is missing. This is especially useful for new users.
- We can also easily get sophisticated with campaigns too. With a simple drag and drop we can connect third party vendors, such as webinar vendors, we can pass contacts into data cleansing programs, and incorporate social media.
- Their lead scoring is very easy to utilize due to its slick UI. You can also set several scoring models. However, we have found some bugs with the UI. It is also kind of hard to manipulate the interactions score because Eloqua can generalize it a bit too much. (Similar, but not as bad as the RLC tool)
- Database management and reporting.
- In order to pull reports specific to what you want outside of their canned reports you need to have an extra reporting license and training for it. The contact fields are also limited, so if you need to have hundreds of data fields recorded per contact you need to use "DataCards" and have some JavaScript experience.
- Salesforce.com and Aprimo are MUCH, MUCH better in this arena.
Maxymiser
- Flexible and scale-able technology solution
- Quality of the team behind the service
- Robust methodology and processes
- Removing some of the implementation stages for achieving the personalisation criteria in a standardised way - increasing the personalisation speed to market. Standardised integration with existing analytics tools for the creation of PC's.
- Having more real-time analytics results, currently it only updates every few hours.
Eloqua is the best...but it's not for everyone
- A highly robust tool capable of integrating with almost every facet/channel of marketing.
- Integration with CRM and other third party tools and forms allows for a more integrated marketing management experience.
- Sales tools help to bridge the gap between marketing and sales, so that sales has greater visibility into marketing activities and their outcomes.
- Communication and education through the topliners community give user access to materials they need to help themselves and engage with fellow users, as well as provide feedback and feature requests.
- Continual improvements (though sometimes buggy at first) shows that Eloqua understands the world of marketing and how it's evolving, and is ever-striving to provide a tool that support the all-round needs of marketing.
- Closed-loop reporting and revenue performance management tools help to close to loop between marketing activity and actual sales results.
- The E10 platform is a user-friendly interface that makes marketing easy (much better than E9), though its does leave a bit to be desired for highly technical users.
- Many of the beneficial administrative features of E9 were taken away in E10, making the tool more user-friendly for the average marketer, but less useful for the technical marketer
- The reporting function leaves a bit to be desired. The fact that reports can only be built and customized by someone with an analyzer license is not cool. It leaves user dependent on one person, unless they want to spend big bucks to pay for additional people to be able to report.
- There are a lot of bugs - big ones - after each product release. Product releases used to be exciting (like Apple releases in the early 2000s) and now they're terrifying as we brace ourselves for the week following the release and what will inevitably go wrong (like Apple releases now).
- Eloqua used to invest much more in their customers and actively worked to educate them on the newest trends in marketing and helped clients to leverage to tool to align with those trends. Now, it's more about self-education via topliners. It's a great tool, but you have to have the time (and drive) to proactively go out and teach yourself what's new and how you can use Eloqua to take things to the next level.
- The really useful features that make Eloqua differentiated (for the serious marketer) are hidden and hard to find. Closed loop reporting, for example, should have its own functional area. Instead, various management features that go into that functionality are hidden in the 'settings' area within various other functional sections.
- I have a love/hate relationship with the campaign canvas. It's wonderful for building out campaigns and if you have your act together before launching, it's great. It's less great if you need to "build as you go" or if you want to change things up mid-stream. The canvas is not very amenable to on the fly changes because you have to deactivate it to make changes, during which time if someone responds to your campaign, you've lost your ability to pass that info to your CRM. It's a brilliant functional idea poorly executed for the average marketer.
Eloqua does welloqua
- Eloqua scales nicely, allowing you to use as little or much of its robust system as needed for any projects or campaign.
- Eloqua creates an easy, even pleasing user interface for its tools and maintains a consistent user experience across the different module areas.
- Eloqua offers support programs to dive deeper into its application.
- Eloqua sometimes has many "information homes" and you have to be committed to finding answers.
- Eloqua sometimes has a bulky feeling because of its robust tools. Streamlining some options would make it's use more efficient.
- Eloqua can be confusing and overwhelming at first adoption, despite programs that assist with the onboarding process.
Integrated, driven and delivered huge ROI
- Reconciling reported numbers to your analytics provider
- Quickly driving a significant ROI from first few tests
- Backed by awesome, knowledgeable team
- Takes large complex tests in stride
- Fast, durable, stable platform even when under large traffic loads
- Cross device testing
- Insight discovery, you find stuff out about your business you never knew
- Usability of the UI can be improved
- Self service to build own tests
- Onsite training rather than in London
Mutiple reasons to add MVT to your mix with Maxymiser
- The pre-work maxymiser did to identify the make up of our current sites, where the break points were and identified areas to structure first tests. As someone with no previous UX experience this gave great confidence in their ability to grow our business. This proved to be the case with the first test delivery incremental sales worth over £600,000 a year.
- Maxymiser's depth of analysis on a test continually surprises me (in a good way). It's developed my understanding of the customer experience far beyond what Google Analysis was telling me, allowing to see how the interaction between the elements creates a great customer experience. Just having great content isn't enough you need to tell a story that empowers customers to make the decisions you want them to make.
- The most important thing I've found about Maxymiser is their honesty. If something is awful you will be told and if it's great then it won't be fake praise designed to just cater to the client's ego. This is what I value the most as it's stopped me and my team from making costly mistakes and also got to the point where we are getting real insight, rather than just scoring quick wins.
- Whist we've been with them Maxymiser have experienced a good growth period but with that has come teething problems with recruiting experienced members of staff and at time the service level has suffered, not to a poor level but below the good standard they had set themselves.
- You need to be careful with the level of assumption you make about your own business, we've had occasions because we've not mentioned it on a brief that there would be no change to a function only this to happen to accommodate the perimeters of a test. It's been a learning from us and Maxymiser to include what's in a test and also what isn't
Using Eloqua Marketing Automation Platform on the French market
- Segmenting customers/prospects to send the right message to the right contact.
- Mapping campaigns from basic newsletter to marketing automation.
- Scoring leads to increase sales conversion rate.
- A web agency works with us to create our emailings, but from time to time, we do it ourselves and it is not that easy to use.
- For end users, difficulty to use it if not in the tool on a daily basis.
Excellent marketing automation platform. Sync with Salesforce surprisingly slow - sometimes takes 75 minutes.
- Good Marketing Automation platform. Works well in a Salesforce.com-centric environment. In my experience (extensive implementation, extensive use at one company, and review/consulting in 3-4 other companies), it is a highly flexible platform that met most of the marketing automation needs of our high-volume/high-velocity marketing model.
- In particular, we designed and built a very robust Drip (Nurture) Campaign architecture using Program Builder. This architecture allowed Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) to be automatically added to the best nurture campaign (of the 20+ nurture campaigns in our arsenal), and automatically "promoted" to other nurture campaigns if the MQL took subsequent actions that warranted a different level of interaction. in addition, we automatically interrupted all nurture activity if the lead became a Sales Qualified Lead (SQL).
- Also, Eloqua's Salesforce integration includes access to the CamapignMember object, which is not typical of most Marketing Automation platforms (to my knowledge). (Most Marketing Automation products are well integrated with Lead, Contact, Opportunity objects. Most can add members to Campaigns. However, Eloqua's ability to access all fields on the CampaignMember object, including custom fields, is a big advantage that we used, with excellent business results.)
- Integration with Salesforce.com is extensive, but is less "seamless" than I've seen with other products I've used and/or evaluated (Marketo and Pardot, for example).
- Processing time (time for a Lead and his campaign activity to be fully added to Salesforce.com) is slower than other systems - as much as 75 minutes, in our implementation.) In our high-velocity marketing model, this was an issue for us. (Since then, Eloqua has made strides to speed up Eloqua/Salesforce updates, so this may be less problematic now.)
Maxymiser Review
- Business case analysis and investigation
- Technical solutions onsite
- Platform for self service solutions
- Data dashboard has room to include more statistical information
- Incorporation of raw data of onsite tests
- Mobile testing platform
Worth the effort
- Interact Campaign provides a wide variety of capability for creating dynamic message content, tailored to each specific channel.
- Interact Connect offers straight forward, reliable data integration.
- Recent enhancements to Interact Program make it flexible and easy to set up and test.
- As a SQL developer, I'd like to see enhancements to the SQL View and Join View capability that would make it easier to set up and test, providing more of a developer experience.
- We're starting to use Responsys for more real-time email scenarios. The regular maintenance windows are something we need to plan for and work around.
- Response time in the UI and campaign launch can be slow during peak times.
Best in class, worth the investment
- Tight integration with Salesforce CRM - in order to keep sales and executive visibility the marketing efforts of Eloqua need to sync and work with our CRM, Eloqua does this well.
- Campaign design canvas - the UI to create complex automated campaigns is second to none, I've previewed and tested several, hands down the Eloqua approach is best
- Lead scoring - the ability to customize multiple scoring models and thresholds in real-time is HUGE. This tool is also easy and intuitive.
- Reporting - terrific built-in benchmark dashboards to gauge your performance against other industries and keeps you focused on high value metrics
- Email editor - pretty basic but gets the job done, would like more customized and drag and drop control with email templates, we've found an easy way to work with it but could be enhanced
- Landing page editor - solid but more customized styling and behaviors are not quite there yet, would like more enhancements there as well
- Forms - eloqua hosted forms are limited from a design perspective - external customized forms require some technical assistance to get connected properly, this could be improved in the future.
Optimising three.co.uk
- People - All my team members at Maxymiser have been thoroughly professional, knowledgeable, reliable and friendly. It was the caliber of the people that put Maxymiser ahead of the competition when selecting a supplier.
- Technical Flexibility - We've asked a lot of Maxymiser over the years, and they have never failed to deliver workable solutions to our problems.
- Self serve tool is wonderfully simple to use yet still incredibly powerful.
- Value Add - Organisation of events and workshops enabling customers to interact, share & learn has been invaluable. Especially getting up to speed with the theory of optimistion.
- Delivery times on managed service campaigns is frustratingly long. This has got better with the introduction of self serve options, but more complex campaigns under managed service are slow to launch. This can cause issues in very fast paced environments with constant change.
- Analytics UI is not the most user friendly. Fine when you get used to it, but doesn't do a great job for the less experienced. Switching between results is pretty clunky.
- Hierarchy of information for a campaign. The way you can see in the campaign the different emails, landing pages, forms, etc. and the basics of how they are performing is really great. It's also easy to keep organized and make sure everything is being linked to the correct campaign.
- Building out forms, landing pages, or emails with your own corporate template is just as easy as utilizing the generator for Eloqua. This makes it easy to keep your communications branded and easily editable as necessary.
- The ability to build programs that sync particular, selected data from marketing contacts in the Eloqua database to your CRM database for your Bus Dev and/or Sales teams to see on their end is also valuable. It keeps those lines of communication open, and shows the salespeople what they've seen or how they've interacted with us previously even across two different platforms.
- The main menu bar on top is something that you have to spend a bit of time getting acquainted with, it's not the most intuitive setup. It would be nice to see some of that broken down or renamed to be a little more intuitively logical.
- The drag and drop in the email archive isn't always exact. So if you have either saved your email in the incorrect folder or you later need to move it to a new folder you sometimes have to perform the drag and drop twice for it to take, or sometimes it drops ahead of where you end the drag with your mouse. Either making that more accurate or adding the ability in editing the email to edit the folder it lives in would be nice.
- Having the programs to sync is great, but sometimes syncing to the CRM still leaves out valuable information like the name of the landing page the client visited, or the whitepaper they downloaded, which creates a bit of extra work when a salesperson contacts you to dig up that information manually for them to be able to proceed, which effects your productivity in other campaigns as well.
My Antiquated Experience with Eloqua 9
- I like the logic aspect of Eloqua 9 when creating Email programs. You can build out complex logic and procedures for basically any mailing scenario.
- The reporting is straight forward and can be exported to Excel very easily which makes manipulating and working with the data simple.
- The ability to copy old emails as templates and manipulate them with Eloqua 9's WYSIWYG was nice, even if Eloqu 9's WYSIWYG could be a little frustrating at times.
- Eloqua 9 only worked in Internet Explorer... ugh!
- The WYSIWYG was pretty buggy - I expect this was improved on in Eloqua 10.
- Did I mention it only worked in Internet Explorer?!?
Why we use Maxymiser at our business
- Very knowledgeable account management and consulting team
- Easy to implement and roll out across the footprint.
- Fully managed service is great if you are just starting with testing
- Comprehensive and forward thinking product roadmap
- Visual Campaign Builder (VCB) still needs work
- The test set up process is great for complex tests but a bit too long for simpler ones
Marketing Automation is Very Powerful
- Eloqua University is a great resource for users with no experience. It has many hands on classes that allows you to get familiar with their product very quickly.
- Eloqua used a WYSIWYG interface that makes it very simple to build HTML emails, landing pages and forms. This is especially helpful for people with little to no HTML or CSS experience.
- Allows for easy segmentation of contact database.
- Program builder is powerful but not user friendly
- Integration with CRM is difficult and requires a lot of IT support.
- Once an asset such as an image is loaded into the system it can be very hard to delete it with discrepancies. It can be very difficult to keep the system clean.
- Good segmentation capability
- Good programme building functionality
- Integrates well with Salesforce.com
- Takes while to train team
- Can be quite complicated to use
- Limited proactive account support
The best enterprise testing platform available.
- Customer service - we have a wonderful solutions team that helps us with managed testing and strategy, as well as technical support for our self-service tests. They're responsive, respectful, and helpful. We have yet to run across an issue they couldn't help us with.
- Platform integration - it's very easy to integrate into our websites, and one of the things that I most appreciate is that the single line of javascript code makes it so that we don't have to continue going back to our dev teams for further integration... we can just code our tests and launch them. It also makes it so we can test just about anything we can imagine... from simple button tests to all of our product pages to any kind of price testing we can think of, to any segments we want to test to.
- Reporting - the reporting tools are robust and easy to use, and one of my favorite things is the filtering capability that comes out of the box so that I don't have to add filters to my individual campaigns in order to understand impact by traffic channel, etc...
- There's a bit of a learning curve, especially if you're used to using a different platform like Test & Target. This is especially true for our developers who still need to get the advanced training to enable them to code some of our more complex tests without help.
- We can test just about anything we want, and there are also great merchandising capabilities. However, this is a testing platform first, so some things require a bit of a workaround. That hasn't been an issue yet, however... you can still do it, but it's a bit more involved (IE testing badging on specific products.) They are working in this area... they've already added some functionality I asked them about a year ago such as targeting by weather.
Maxymiser made my life a bit simpler
- Great Teamwork - always supportive in every step of the process
- Can Do Approach - working around obstacles and challanging time scales
- Experience - Their large portfolio of clients allows them to assist in building the most efficient testing plan
- Self Serve tool is not always available - depends on the type of systems used internally for the site
- Delivery time is excellent, but would be happy to see it improving even more, would love seeing 1 week becoming the standard rather then 3-4.
Leading conversion tool that quickly generates ROI
- Maxymiser is a great conversion testing tool that allows us to create complex MVT and less complex A/B/n conversion campaigns
- Different testing methodologies are available including full factorial. Essential for ensuring that robust results for high traffic sites
- Maxymiser is incredibly easy to implement on the site as it uses a small (single line of code,) tag on each page
- Can run campaigns on various different devices, including mobile and tablet
- Offers much more than just conversion campaigns, including behavioural targeting, advanced segmentation and a recommendation engine
- Self service option may prove a little complex for those new to conversion optimisation
- Internal dedicated conversion resource is required to get the most out of the tool
Maxymiser reviewed by Publisher
- Maxymiser has an in-depth reporting tool that is useful for making educated decisions after testing.
- Maxymiser has a managed service as well as a self-service tool that can be used to build tests in house. This has allowed us to expand the amount of testing we do and work on areas of the site we would not have had the time to work on before.
- Maxymiser is releasing improvements to it's console and self-service tool on a regular basis.
- It is easy to go through the list of tests that are live and get an idea of how they are going on site.
- Some users may find that the self-service tool requires more training than expected to create the expected changes on their site. This will depend on the complexity of the site that is being worked on and the level of web code understanding of the user.
Maxymiser review
- Strong data driven approach
- Very smart consultants
- Great technology
- Can be confusing when you can see all tests in development on your computer - it makes it hard to see what might be a live bug
Maximum Value
- Very flexible and realistic
- Dedicated industry experienced team
- Delivers good results
- Tool user interface could be designed better, but none the less still does the job
Trusted testing and optimisation
- Campaign planning
- Account management
- Managed service solution
- Multiple campaigns linked to the booking flow.
