It's well suited for the relational Database where there are huge sets of data to be processed in real-time.
It's not currently Suited for the Cloud Environment. Like an easy add-on service to the apps in Cloud Foundry Services, expect Oracle Cloud.

For data warehouse environments, it is a great option. We used to run it using a non-EXA appliance and batches used to take like 3 to 4 hours but it was reduced to 30 min which helped our customers. I think Oracle has an option for any need that any customer has.

If we are using Oracle GoldenGate then Oracle Database 12c works very well if we are using Integrated Extract and IntegratedReplicat.

If we are using classic Extract and Replicat then Oracle 12c R1 is not a good option.

Oracle database is a perfect choice when customers have Oracle hardware and they're looking for relaible OS like Linux and Solaris. Customers who have Oracle applications will find appropriate to have Oracle Database due to single point of support and fewer resource requirements to maintain the data.
Oracle Database will be less appropriate for customers who have a smaller budget and hardware with slower performance.

Since I am using Oracle Database 12c for analytical projects and for a data warehousing environment, it is the best of the sector to respond to your query needs as well as development speed and your response to your business users. It has many features to perform your ETLs (Extract & Transform & Load) faster and respond to your business users quicker. Oracle Database 12c is supported by all of the Data Modeling, ETL, BI (Business Intelligence), Data Visualization tools and offers a variety of SQL, PL/SQL editors.

Oracle Database 12c is well suited for mission-critical applications or any application where high performance and reliability are required. It extends the application grid to database allowing access to enterprise data and applications in a good infrastructure environment.

It is very well suited for larger enterprises or for which we have to handle a larger amount of data in less time. It can also be done using Google BigQuery but as Oracle Database12c is quite popular we have preferred this product for our major clients.

So great for in-house development. If you are buying applications off the shelf, you probably don't care what kind of database supports them. But to easily create, alter, and maintain tables, views, etc. nothing beats Oracle in my opinion. A small shop can find some of these features for less money with the other vendors. Licensing costs could be a limiting factor.

Oracle Database 12C is well suited for large organizations which likes to use RAC environment or cloud environment since we get too many features to avail availability, scalability, performance and who can afford the cost. It is less suitable for small organizations who cannot afford the license cost.

Oracle Database is very efficient and stable. If you have the money to spend and care a lot about security and availability, then Oracle Database can be a great option. If you're a start-up or don't want to pay anything, there are multiple free alternatives like Postgres and MySQL. Oracle also integrates nicely with many other applications and services, so it might be a good solution depending on your particular platform.

I find Oracle databases to be top notch at what they are designed to do. There are minor nuisances, but I'm sure all database platforms have some issues. Oracle is often upgrading their databases which introduce new functionality and more powerful ways to interact with the databases. Overall, thoroughly enjoy working with Oracle's products.

Before switching to Oracle Db, make sure that you have a good knowledge of databases, as hiring a new person for this job would be expensive and the tool itself is pretty expensive. Oracle cost model is very complicated so it is worth it to spend some time talking with an Oracle Account Manager and doing some research to find out what is the best to fit your needs and reduce the cost of ownership.

Oracle Database 12c is very suitable for the Enterprise to deal with well defined structured data, requiring a good balance between the data set and the query performance. It is also well suited for during data insertion time when it is hard to predict how the query will be made (index later strategy). If the business requires highly reliable transaction-based ACID operations and high-security standards, Oracle is one of the best options. While Oracle is not suitable for applying data analytic tasks to extremely large amounts of data (which is not Oracle's issue, it is SQL's limitation), a distributed solution like Hadoop or Cassandra should be considered.

One of the best things about using Oracle Database 12c (or any Oracle Database) is that it integrated beautifully with other Oracle applications and products. If the tech stack of your organisation predominantly includes Oracle products, I would recommend that you blindly go for Oracle Database 12c as your primary RDBMS setup.
