Oracle WebCenter Portal is a knowledge base for me to find all kinds of information about any Oracle products that I use or [am] interested in. This is my go-to portal whenever I have any questions regarding Oracle products releases, training, support services or on-demand events, etc. I usually use it as a starting point to find the information I need. I think it's a very user-friendly portal to use.
  • Navigation paths.
  • User-friendly user interface.
  • Rich knowledge base.
  • Unexpected cryptic error messages.
  • The site does not seem to have SSO capability as I have logged into my user account already, but it still can't verify at the Support page
  • AI should be built into the portal to auto-assist when error occurs.
Based on my experience with Oracle WebCenter Portal, it is best suited for [Oracle's] existing customers who are already familiar with Oracle products but need to look for [a] specific topic in a broad sense. It is also suitable for people who are not Oracle customers yet but has industry experience and simply looking to enhance their Oracle knowledge and compare [it] with other products in the industry. I think it's less appropriate for people who are looking for answers to very specific technical questions for an Oracle product.
  • It's hard to calculate specifically the ROI Oracle WebCenter Portal had.
  • After all, this is a portal for users to find information.
  • This is a starting point for users to navigate, and it would be dependent on how far the users drill down to get the specific information they need to grow their business.
I think Oracle products are the most reliable product in the industry and their customer services are also [the] best in class. Oracle WebCenter Portal is a great place to start your journey if you're looking for Oracle or industry knowledge. I think Oracle stands out a lot compared to other players in the industry.

We're using Oracle Web Center Portal as the platform for our enterprise employee intranet. It is positioned as a product that will provide seamless integration to other Oracle products and third party integration and services.
  • Allows personalization integration
  • Allows API integration
  • Google search integration
  • Difficult to implement
  • Expensive to maintain
  • Poor analytics
It's relative. There are other products on the market that rival Oracle Web Center Portal and are perhaps cheaper to implement and maintain. Web Center does have a path to the cloud.
  • I think we got a fair deal when we negotiated the purchase agreement.
  • It should deliver the capability we're looking to do.
  • Sharepoint
It's all comparable and very expensive.
