Outreach is used by our business development, account executive, customer success, and marketing teams to interact with prospects and customers. It allows us to connect with and manage our interactions with a vast client base from one spot. The integration with salesforce.com comes in very handy as well and connects our workflow.
  • Personalization tokens are easy to use and typically very reliable
  • Data pulls from salesforce.com very quickly, enabling me to add new contacts to our system and start outreach in no time
  • Intuitive and easy to use
  • When drafting an initial message and it fails to send for some reason, you aren't able to go in an retrieve the copy. This is really frustrating when crafting personalized notes because you have to start from scratch on the second try.
  • Sometimes when people respond to sequences they aren't removed from the current sequence. This causes some confusion for the prospect/customer and reflects poorly on the sender.
Outreach is well suited for high velocity yet personalized outreach. It's great for sales teams who will spend the time using the customization capabilities offered. It's also well suited for teams using sf.com as the integration is pretty flawless.

I don't think it's best for teams with high velocity calling KPIs as the "call from" feature is slow and can cause issues with your phone.

Used by sales department. Helps us automate the process of reaching out to prospects.
  • Easy to add people into sequences
  • Easy to click to dial
  • Good customer service
  • Missing functionality
  • Would like to be able to see a bigger picture view of my sequences
  • Would like better functionality for when I'm calling people (being able to click one button to say the number doesn't work, have a notes section on the right side of screen)
  • Reporting can be a little confusing
Outreach is great for automating the process of reaching out to a bunch of different people and taking thought out of the process. Not as good for strategic outreach where you want more information about the person or don't want to follow an exact templated sequence for reaching out to them.

Outreach is used by all the sales teams in our company. Mainly we use it as an automation tool but I love the 360 view to monitor who is opening mails.
  • Great for automation
  • Brilliant for monitoring who is opening mails and when
  • Great for helping me manage my day with setting tasks etc
  • 360 view doesn't always work and can be slow to update
It is a great tool for any salesperson

[It's] Being used by sales development and some small business account execs; addresses task management and automation, email read receipts, and email logging.
  • Task automation. I know what needs to be done, and who's getting what on a daily basis.
  • Consistency in UI between sequenced emails and 1-off emails created from clicking on a contact's address.
  • The new pop-up window/browser constantly needs to be refreshed when switching between contacts/sequences etc.
Great for prospecting and biz dev outreach!

Not as ideal for account executives (can't link activity to opportunities). A pop-up inside of Gmail would be nice where you could do this.

Business development representatives use outreach to prospect inbound/outbound leads around our solution/product. We use Outreach for cadence for the leads - using tailored messaging around each product.
  • LinkedIn
  • Timed messaging
  • User-friendly - easy to pick up
  • Grammar functions - spelling
  • Ability to have 2 or more contacts on the same sequence
  • More analysis - charts
Out of Office clients - the sequence reminded me to target them after their holiday to produce an opportunity/call

We use Outreach with our sales development team. We use Outreach to organize, email and call leads. It's a great way to keep the team organized and ensure each prospect is followed up with properly. I really like how well Outreach integrates with other applications as well. We have ours connected to Salesforce and the bi-directional sync is pretty neat.
  • Outreach allows us to maintain governance over messaging.
  • Outreach allows us to manage, call and email leads all in one platform (we did this with at least three different tools in the past)
  • Outreach keeps opted out leads opted out, even as our team grows, leads change hands, etc.
  • Outreach still has a few bugs with bridging calls to your cell phone, which feel like a black box and can be frustrating.
  • Outreach has some limitations on changes in progress sequences, which cause some hassles.
Outreach is great for established sales development teams with established processes. If you're still working things out, it's probably not worth the investment. But if you have a system you like and you're growing fast it's perfect.

The ADR and Account Management team have utilized Outreach. The Sales department utilizes the tool only. Outreach assists us with managing prospects, communicating, following-up and tracking everything on the back end in conjunction with Salesforce, Marketo and Demandbase. It helps address challenges with the organization (follow-ups, notes, etc) and most importantly provides data so we can determine the most effective methods, language and time to reach our prospects.
  • Outreach makes automation easy! It's very simple to set up communication with prospects, deciding when and what message to send depending on the lead type. This saves us tons of time and ensures that we don't let any prospects slip through the cracks. A very powerful tool compared to SalesLoft (which we were using previously)
  • Task management. I love how easy it is to create items, e-mails or calls with prospects. This is a great strength because it not only saves our team a bunch of time but with the reminders and great visibility it ensures that we won't miss anything.
  • Calling. Very intuitive and easy to reach out to prospects via VOIP. Doesn't require a lot of back-end work to set up, or maintenance to keep it running smoothly. It's very helpful to verify information in Salesforce (country code) prior to importing, and amazing that Outreach automatically recognizes--saves us a lot of editing time.
  • API/Integration with SF. We had a difficult time initially with the different fields being pushed and updated on the back-end with Salesforce. It was challenging for our ADR and AE team to log notes and other activities because the profiles were constantly being updated and overwritten.
  • Calling, while very intuitive suffers from some connection difficulty, our lines frequently will be "empty"--prospects cannot hear us but we can hear them, or calls will drop dead for some reason.
  • -When prospects call us back into Outreach, it's nearly impossible to answer the call from the browser--we have to let it go to RingCentral or our direct line. If we answer in the browser the prospects are unable to hear us and we need to call them back.
  • Reporting. Would be nice to see expanded reporting features--like "smart" reporting: highlighting the best times for the team to reach out/send e-mail based on open rates, call connection rate, etc.
  • Using local numbers. I get TONS of wrong numbers calling me. Very disruptive to my workflow and day when the phone is ringing for irrelevant calls.
Outreach is a fantastic tool for any SDR team, or team doing outreach. It communicates really well with Salesforce and is appropriate to use if they are reaching out to cold, or warm leads. At LiquidPlanner, it seemed less efficient and effective for the account management team to use for their campaigns because they involved very personalized messaging and it was time-consuming to constantly edit the messaging.

The sales department uses it to make outbound sales calls and take inbound calls as well. We also use it to send email blasts, which it is definitely useful for. The big problem it addresses is the sales follow-up process. Some reps have a hard time keeping up with prospects, and the followup sequences really help.
  • Email blasts. You can send as many or few as you'd like and track them through the process.
  • Outbound calls with headset
  • prompting reps to follow up with prospects
  • Inbound and outbound calls get stuck and have to restart
  • Logs me out in the middle of processes
  • Email blasts are hard to do sometimes because of the stages a potential prospect is in
  • Hard to search for prospects
Well suited for email blasts.

Outreach is being used by our sales department. We leverage it to keep track of our cold outreach to prospects through emails, phone and LinkedIn messaging.
  • Outreach does a great job with logging my calls in the salesforce integrations.
  • Outreach does a good job of sequencing my prospects in the areas I want them.
  • Outreach does a good job keeping track of when my prospects are OOO and re-engaging with them when they return.
  • Outreach could improve on their chrome integration, it used to be flawless but I've had many issues with it the past two months.
  • Outreach could improve the speed of the salesforce integration. Sometimes it lags behind in logging my calls.
  • Outreach could improve the visibility on the prospect overview page. It can become cluttered with unnecessary information.
Outreach is perfect for SDR's. It creates daily and weekly tasks for calling, we use it to engage regularly with prospects and keep track of our connections.

Outreach is used by our SDR, AE, and Acct Mgmt teams. It solves the problem of mass prospecting, pre-planning, automated follow-ups etc.
  • Ease of use/user-friendliness
  • Sequencing
  • Mass emails
  • Formatting in Outreach is difficult
  • Account based selling is difficult
  • Auto-paused sequences for OOO don't auto-resume
  • Where is the mobile app!?!?!
Great fit for SDRs but sometimes difficult for AEs to use because our work is highly customized and tailored. I find the templates helpful as a start but have a lot of customization outside of that. Account based selling is also difficult as prospects aren't typically tied to the account unless manually input.

We use it in Marketing, as well as sales. I use Outreach to prospect new clients and follow up with clients when they do not respond. Further, I use it to log all of my calls into Salesforce. Marketing uses outreach for lead generation and top of funnel leads. It is a great program.
  • Logging calls/activities into Salesforce
  • Creating custom sequences to reach out to customers
  • Follow up with customers that have gone dark
  • Log emails when there isn't a contact for an opportunity
  • Make it easier to set up a sequence. Maybe some custom templates to use
  • Tasks synch with salesforce tasks
Outreach works well when people are trying to reach a lot of people, and follow up when you do not get a response. However, outreach does not do so well when you want a custom email that is specific to an organization. I use outreach when I want to contact a lot of people (less customized)

Outreach is being used across our entire Sales Org for its abilities to link with Salesforce, create sequence emails, and designate daily tasks. There are more capabilities than I currently use, but I know that it's a tool that our organization really appreciates. Depending on the tier, the tool is used quite differently.
  • It's ability to automatically sync emails with Gmail and Salesforce.
  • The sequence emails that will automatically send to clients is extremely helpful.
  • It's abilities to help coordinate your daily activities.
  • Some days, Outreach will not be synced with my gmail and I won't realize it for a day or so. Meaning that 100's of emails may not be getting synced to Salesforce. Also, I then do not have the ability to check back in on the emails to see if my client has read them.
  • Creating a sequence is quite difficult and requires multiple steps, so in a time crunch, I may not choose to use Outreach.
I think that Outreach is great for building up a pipeline of clients to reach out to. It's mostly helpful for new business salespeople because you can reach out to many clients at a time. I use it on the growth side of the business to keep track of the viewing habits of my clients.

It is being used by the sales department. Outreach helps give me all activity with a prospect, up to date info on the office social media feeds.
  • Sequencing new prospects
  • Tasking follow up calls
  • Researching office locations
  • Click to call
  • Salesforce integration
  • Connectivity when making calls
Outreach is great for sequencing new prospect with calls and email to keep on top of tasks. Outreach does not completely link with Salesforce and is sometimes difficult to adjust contacting new prospects.

We use Outreach with our SDR team and Customer Success Team; I've used it in both departments and am the Admin for the Customer Success team. For the Customer Success Department, we use the follow-up tasks and Outreach meetings constantly, as well as templates and snippets. Without the follow-up tasks, it would be nearly impossible to keep track of our customer's needs.
  • Outreach Meetings -- saves a lot of time going back and forth and building calendar invites.
  • Follow Up Tasks in Gmail -- makes it easy to keep up with customer needs.
  • When creating Follow Up tasks from Gmail, it counts an OOO as a reply.
  • For Outreach meetings, you can only show the calendars of Outreach users.
Well suited for scheduling meetings, and making sure that you get responses to your emails.

Currently, Outreach is being utilized by our outbound sales team. We prospect for new clients and file them into custom sequences that we've developed. It has been great with daily production because the autonomous features allow time for more research. Another department in our organization is going to potentially adopt the platform as well.
  • Their ability to feature all of your metrics on a daily dashboard allows you to have a clear focus on the day.
  • When completing tasks, the screen sections and allows you view all important information about the prospect's profile.
  • They do a great job with the sequences and the scheduling function for meetings. It is seamless for clients to book a time on our calendar.
  • There are some function keys in the email templates that I wish I knew how to use better. They seem like a great tool.
  • Possible improvement with inputting information from LinkedIn to create a prospect.
Outreach is well suited in an environment where you need to reach out to a large number prospects on a daily basis. It gives organization to your outreach methods and real data to help make things better.

We use outreach to our sales department. At first, we used it to help log prospect calls, but now we've moved into email marketing and have it running the whole operation.
  • Organization - There are, without a doubt, deals that I've made because of the organization Outreach provides. Having all of the prospect's info in one spot helps not lose any notes on them.
  • Calendar Integration/Alerts. Having the desktop notification and the ability to set alerts for high priority tasks make it nearly impossible to miss an important step in closing a lead.
  • Morning Emails - I love the morning emails because it shows me everything I must do that day. From there, I can structure the day to make sure every task is accomplished.
  • Mobile App - I'd love it if I could access Outreach without going to the website. If I was able to pull it from my phone without using an internet browser. That'd be really helpful
  • Searching. I'm still using the shortcuts to searching prospects. It'd be great if there was an easier way without having to put "website:"abcdefg.com*" to search.
  • Notifications. I'd like to get emails, or notifications if certain prospects reach specific steps. For example, if a prospect opens up my email X amount of times, I'd like to get a notification on my phone letting me know, vs finding out only when I search for them the next day
Best suited - prospecting and clients. Anything that requires constant follow-ups, this is amazing for. My deals per year have increased as well as my client retention because of Outreach.

Best suited - mass outreach. When email prospecting, "bulk create" is a gift from above. It saves me so much time. This is also helpful for when I need to tell all clients something quick. I can add them all to a sequence or a mass email to knock it out.

Less Appropriate - very complex sequences. This might be a learning curve for me, but it seems like I can't make sequences too complex. Keeping things as simple as possible with sequences (emails & calls) have worked best for me.

It is used by our SDR team for outbound prospecting with email and calls. We load a build of prospects and then run a campaign with 2-4 steps in a sequence. Also, I use tasks to set up my day and set reminders to send a follow-up if there is no reply.
  • Ability to tag prospects
  • Making calls with Outreach is really easy to manage
  • Task panel that takes you from one task to another
  • Call quality!!! Often there is a lag, dropped calls and etc. I think we have those issues in the UK, especially when making calls abroad.
  • Sequences are a bit clunky. There active, pending prospects - I am always confused about that.
  • Salesforce (SF) integration is not instant and often misses few things, but this might be due to our SF configuration being incorrect.
Outbound prospecting is great, especially when reaching out to hundreds of prospects in an email campaign style. Probably less suited for target account prospecting.

We are using it for our customer service and sales development departments. It helps us run automated campaigns to prospects we are going after whether that is to new clients or to sell additional products to existing clients.
  • Automation of Email Campaigns
  • Tasks - allowing you to see what you have to do that day to move things forward with a prospect/client
  • Customer Support
  • Not everything is intuitive - some menus are hidden, a lot of steps to set up a sequence
Good to manage large sales forces to ensure that tasks are getting done to drive results. Less appropriate for one-off emails - send those in a different system. Good if you want to have consistent messaging to everyone with minor customizations. If each person needs to be treated differently it may be better to either build separate sequences for people to flow through or send them emails and set your own reminders.

Outreach is used by most of the sales teams at my company. Business development uses it to send email sequence campaigns to prospects, account managers use it to send campaigns about add-on products, and various teams use it to drive awareness of special events to drive customer and prospect attendance. Other times, many of us simply use the Gmail plugin to track when one-off emails are opened.
  • Quickly create multi-step campaigns with dynamic fields for personalization
  • Provides visibility into coworkers communications with prospects
  • Tracks metrics like open rates, opt-outs, etc.
  • Could have better reporting capabilities
  • Would be nice if there were features to more easily A/B test different subject lines, etc.
  • Sometimes it says my prospect opened the email when in fact it was a colleague opening it who was copied on the email (not sure if any solution can avoid this)
Perfect for sales teams to create and send simple campaigns. Pretty easy for non-technical business users to use once you get the hang of it. Probably not suitable for a large marketing organization looking to send campaigns to tens of thousands of recipients.

It's being used by our BDR team for outbound prospecting and managing inbound leads.
  • Task automation
  • Sales enablement, showing us best outbound prospecting practices
  • Organises your day
  • Meetings feature doesn't work completely perfectly. Users can open a suggested time and choose any slot in my calendar, even if busy.
  • The fonts changing is very hit and miss.
[It's] great for BDR teams to prospect en masse and personalise at scale. [It's] less well suited for SEs who don't need to manage as many tasks and therefore don't need the automation as much.

Outreach is our main tool for client email outreach. The scheduling features are great to ensure emails are delivered at the right time. Sequenced make the job way easier by not having to custom write a large number of emails every day. Saves time and makes the job way easier.
  • Saves time by scheduling drips of emails rather than custom composing a large number of emails every day.
  • Schedule emails to be delivered at the correct time.
  • Salesforce integration to make contact outreach simple.
  • Every now and then Outreach crashes and I have to restart Google Chrome to get it to work again.

Outreach is being used by 6 individuals on our sales team (5 senior enterprise sales reps, 1 SDR). We run all outbound campaigns through Outreach, and it also helps us log and track communications with prospects into SFDC. It also allows our senior reps to know when prospects have opened/clicked on emails.
  • SFDC Connection/Integrations are very strong.
  • New calendaring feature is great.
  • Our CSM is extremely helpful and supportive.
  • Navigating the UI can be a little confusing, hard to know *where* you are in the system.
  • Expensive! the VOIP calling package is costly.
Outreach shines for targeted outbound campaigns, and enables a large team of SDRs to work cohesively and coordinate their outreach efforts. It allows for great transparency. It's more difficult to find use cases for our senior enterprise reps, who don't typically blast 10+ emails with the same content. For them, the snippets feature is great, allowing them to drop in a few lines of text, as well as the tight integration with SFDC, which removes the manual work of logging emails.

Currently, it's being used by our sales team to engage with prospects and follow up accordingly. With a number of different personas and scenarios that trigger our outreach, we can plan and draft messaging well in advance and collaborate on our messaging with colleagues.

In terms of the business "problem" it's addressing - we're able to easily reach out to our prospects that are either inbound or outbound.
  • Organises my outreach
  • Automatically follows up with those who haven't responded
  • Very useful for international calling
  • Compatibility with Apple Mail - e.g. so emails sent from iPhones can also be tagged
  • iOS app for use on iPad
  • Enhance collaboration on sequences created by other users
Well suited for mass outreach to prospects at the top of funnel in a sales process so you can easily send multiple emails at once. This enables us to deal with our inbound flow quite easily and focus our attention on outbound. It can however be sometimes difficult to track those who have replied with OOOs and can be paused from sequences so it would be great if we could set a timer to re-trigger those folks after a period of time.

It's currently being used across the whole sales organization. We use it for strategic hunting and email campaigns. It keeps our messaging fresh and allows us to stay on top of the onslaught of email. At any given time I have about 10 different campaigns running to current clients and prospects. I'm a huge fan!
  • Automation of prescribed campaigns
  • Showing client's interactions and response
  • Ability to crowdsource campaigns that have worked well across our organization
  • I've spent years in custom software development and UI is tough to do well. I think Outreach's biggest struggle is that the UI is not intuitive. It's clunky and seems like it was designed by developers rather than UI/UX designers. When I notice the buttons /navigation, then I think the design has failed.
  • The email editor does not work on the Mac Platform. I have to edit all my emails in a word editor and then copy and paste them into Outreach.
  • Certain settings and preferences are buried deep.. again, I think Outreach would benefit from a fresh UI update.
Outreach shines when used to hunt prospects via email campaigns. I use it extensively to import contracts and contact people in companies we're trying to partner with. I love that I can write a sequence and "set it and forget it". It's the ultimate babysitter when I don't have enough bandwidth to keep up with email.
