Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Outreach and Salesloft are incredibly similar tools, but Salesloft just barely gets to edge for me because Salesloft's customer service is significantly better than Outreach. Both tools have nearly identical capabilities, but actually using Salesloft and fixing issues with it is a lot easier than it is with Outreach. Outreach either works smoothly or is a nightmare to fix issues, no in between

Outreach is just as good as their competitors and from what I understand is much cheaper than some of them. I wasn't part of the buying process, but it seemed to happen pretty quickly so the decision makers in my company must have been impressed enough to make the decision to go with them.

We found that Outreach was superior to Salesloft and Gong, and a better fit for our organization for the following reasons:
  • User interface and overall experience: it's just a cleaner platform and easier to work in than the other two.
  • Feature set: the other two tools had more bells and whistles, but sometimes less is more, and the core functionality of Outreach is preferable.
  • Integration with Salesforce
  • Price
  • Customer support and training options are superior on Outreach

Outreach has more capability with local dialers and in the calling area. Outreach allows you to mark which phone numbers are verified, questionable, or invalid which makes the calling process much more efficient for sellers as they can ignore the numbers that they already marked as invalid. Outreach also will create a task to call people who have shown sufficient engagement on emails.

We decided to leverage Outreach originally because it fit our needs in terms of sending emails at scale while also integrating other solutions and activities recorded within our Salesforce solution. Salesforce integration was a very important factor because that is where our CRM system resides. Unfortunately, we continue to have issues with their billing department, which refuses to take calls or answer questions, and because we are a small-scale team of 5, we are not offered any customer service support other than the automated chat feature, which is clumsy.

Outreach for sales

Both HubSpot and Outreach are complex and useful tools but in my experience Outreach has more bells and whistles and is more intuitive and user-friendly. As an individual contributor I didn't have to pay for either tool BUT setting the price to the side I believe that outreach is the better tool.

Outreach does a great job being a one-stop-shop for all of your tools in one platform to help your SDR's and AE build pipelines and simplifying the process of nurturing/maintain communication with your contacts. You won't need to use other sales enablement tools with outreach. You'll be able to build sequences using 3 different channels of LinkedIn, emailing, and calls in one platform. You'll also be able to view overall insights of what sequences are performing well, how they are successful.

HubSpot is limited in the automation of its sequence, which at this time is still in the product roadmap. For example, on HubSpot sequences, even with the professional package, you cannot have different threads in one sequence; therefore, followup is extremely difficult. For prospecting and overall reaching out to different companies, threads are vital to ensure that you can book the meetings that you need to hit your quota.

The Outreach user interface and integrations with Outlook email are best in class. The integration with Outlook is seamless and allows you to perform many tasks directly from Outlook without having to engage with the Outreach app.

Outreach is more detailed and in depth than Apollo. The only reasons why I really liked Apollo was the UI and being able to research companies within the app- however, we use Zoominfo for reaching out now and it is better with more information. Outreach connects to ZI and salesforce, so the activity you do within one app translates to the other. Call quality and call note taking is better in Outreach and there are more reports you can generate to examine.

I think Outreach is by far the best calling system compared to the ShoreTel phone system that I used in a previous sales role. It is much more elaborate, allowing the user to call text, or email from the system or sync to Gmail for email. The connectivity is greater and overall performance and features in every way.

Outreach is by far superior to both Hubspot and Google Docs in terms of managing sales. Before I would need multiple apps to manage clients, send emails, book appointments, etc. Outreach does all of this in one place and so that is why I think it is the best out of the software that I have tried previously.

I have used SalesLoft in the past, and Outreach is far and above that tool. Outreach has a much cleaner look and is much, much more user friendly. Further, the ability to track when/where contacts are opening my communications is more comprehensive than SalesLoft. I felt in the dark when using SalesLoft, now I always know where I stand with my prospecting.

I was in the early stages of implemented Salesloft and it seemed very complicated to get off the ground so outreach is a lot easier for users to use. The support from the Outreach CSM side has been tremendous though.

Outreach beats all three (SalesLoft, Pardot and hubspot) hands down. From sequencing leads to logging activity and the ability to call within the cloud-based app itself. Saves time, reduces duplicate work and improves overall visibility for our trainers, supervisors, managers and leadership.

When we were initially evaluating software, we just wanted a tool for BDRs to use. Outreach is a BDR powerhouse. As your organization grows, I would consider moving to SalesLoft, which integrates a lot of great features on the AE side of the house.

Honestly, this is a tough competition. It's comparing apples to apples. You wouldn't be making a mistake if you chose one over the other. I would say half the team liked Outreach better and other half liked SalesLoft. Not much difference between the two.
