Platform independence: Software that can run on a variety of hardware platforms or software architectures was a primary use. Platform-independent software can be used in many different environments, requiring less planning and translation across an enterprise like us and we have benefitted the most in this situation

The user can work with any application using his/her preferred device where they are more productive. In this way, they do not need to learn new operating systems features or stuff beyond the application of their interest.

We install the full agent on the user's desktop or laptop if they need to connect remotely. but even if the agent is not installed HTML5 offers a good alternative in those cases when such an option is not available.

We have tested and run the application on multiple platforms. This included various Windows OS versions, Android devices, and iOS as well. On all platforms, 2X is running smoothly without any issues.

We are finding issues with printing but that could be the issue at the ERP level as well. Hence, full point in terms of compatibility.

We have some end users that utilize Parallels RAS HTML5 browser on computers as well as mobile devices. The HTML5 usability is very smooth on all products. We did run into an issue with full-screen RDP where the taskbar would disappear on the RDP machine but within a month the support team had a patch for us to resolve the issue.

We can now really use our ERP software on tablets, and not a half-assed implementation of it that requires bending and squishing to move around. With a keyboard attached, we now have a low-cost alternative to putting a laptop on the shop floor, or the ability to see certain screens from the web without writing a web interface.

Our end users can't even tell the difference between connecting from a computer, iPad, or Android tablet. From an IT perspective, it is great as previous technologies had different methods for setting up the connection depending on the type of device being used. We haven't utilized the html5 gateway except in testing, but even that seemed intuitive.

Parallels easily allows for cross platform support allowing multiple operating systems. There is support for Windows, Linux, Mac, Android and iOS for desktop and mobile hardware. It is built with this functionality in mind so it crosses platforms really well and comes across seamlessly for the end user's desktop view.

We mainly use the windows client for this - which auto-updates (after v17.3), which is great as it ensures the software is always up to date with the latest versions. We, as admins, occasionally use the iOS/Android applications to access various things, including the console via the mobile application, when we cannot access a computer if we need to make urgent changes. From an end-user point of view, it is great - because all they need is to download the client, put in the gateway, and off they go.

Though historically Parallels Remote Application Server has been used with on-premises servers, the world is moving toward a cloud infrastructure. Parallels Remote Application Server can work with cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google clouds, or even in hybrid environments.

We've used the iOS and Android clients successfully to access our ERP app. The most common use scenario are handheld/iPad-like devices in our warehouses, and they make deployment very simple and cost efficient. No need purchase custom hardware!

The mobile clients have also been useful for demonstrating the system to potential clients and at trade events.

It has provided us with the flexibility to reduce the dependency of the teams to come to the office and access the servers and resources from the comfort of their devices and perform the task. This has helped us to boost the efficiency and agility of the teams.
