Paylocity has been pretty receptive to our needs, providing us quick responses even when the response is not what we were hoping for. They have provided resources for us to learn how to better utilize the system. There have been some struggles with items that we thought were fully functioning, such as retro-pay. Workflows and processes are lacking.

Paylocity is well suited for a medium sized company (fewer than 500 employees). Smaller organizations may find that Paylocity has more features than they need, but Paylocity does allow you to pick and choose most features, so you can select the modules you need and not the ones you don't.

Paylocity works really well for the employees that have to transfer to different job sites. It makes it very easy for them to clock in out to new locations. Paylocity also makes the onboarding process very easy to launch on the HR side as well as for the employees that are completing it

I think some areas where Paylocity is well suited are for situations like record keeping, updating personnel from company, easy and smooth process for Payroll, and honestly just overall function. I think where areas where Paylocity is a bit "less" appropriate is on areas where you need a bit of saving function. I've ran into times when I would have to rerun/recreate reports where I would have them saved but disappear the next day. I don't think it's Paylocity's overall fault, but it obviously has glitches from time.

If you are a small company that is set up exactly how Paylocity as a company is set up in workflows and processes then the system works great. If you aren't there are a lot of workarounds that take time and effort. You almost need a dedicated person to manage the system.

It's well suited for a small company, who wants to streamline their HR function. With Paylocity, you can use one vendor for payroll, benefits, flexible spending accounts, expense management and they all communicate behind the scenes. Paylocity is not for big companies as there are too many unpredictable errors with no reasoning that the company can give as to why they happen. They would be missed if you have 1000's of employees.

In my opinion, Paylocity is an overpriced payroll software. We were hoping it would be a robust HRIS tool but we are lucky to even get payroll to process with Paylocity. In my experience, this tool is expensive with very poor customer support. We are looking to change as soon as possible.

Paylocity is well suited as the program as it is easy to navigate. If there is an issue there are articles available to help troubleshoot. When reaching out to customer service for assistance most of the time the representative is very helpful. There have been times when I have been directed to read an article and help was not provided. Recently we implemented a new procedure for mileage reimbursement and our account manager at Paylocity was so helpful, providing guidance every step of the way.

The onboarding ease of use in the workflow setups are great! Makes it easy to onboard new employees and add all your documents in one place! Not a step missed! It is difficult to add outside of your state tax entities and you have be very careful, and stay on top of them. The response time is lacking and no one specific dedicated person to your account.

When speaking with an employee of Paylocity, it is a complete pleasure that we can understand what they are saying. This is a US-based company—the wait time when calling is minimal. Emails are answered within the hour. They make it seem as if they are always available for any and all of our needs.

I have never had a significant problem with our payroll processing. We do not utilize Paylocity's timekeeping and import our batches instead. The system makes submission a smooth process. We were sold on a single customer service representative, but I've never spoken to that individual, and I don't believe they exist. The support team is often very friendly. However, they're not very knowledgeable. I frequently need to submit multiple requests and double-check every answer I receive.

Low to medium-sized companies are on track for a bright future. Large 1000-plus organs are not prepared to tackle that successfully. Generally speaking, the implementation process was great, and relationships were created. Customer Service simply becomes a number and someone they will get back to at some point in the future.

Paylocity is versatile, meeting the needs of a small company (sub 50 people) to a more robust company (200+) with multiple employee types and the need for hourly tracking. Their model for various portals allows you to build your HRIS system with only the portals needed, adding on later, which is great. The ease with which portals communicate data to one another gives us growing companies the efficiency we need to stay focused on the more nuanced areas of HR rather than being stuck on these more administrative tasks.

Very well suited for off-site crews who work in several locations on different days. They are able to transfer between stops with their time punches. Not well suited for a company that does not want to participate in the community/social media aspect of notifications. There is no way to have the Announcement feature without using the Community feature.

Paylocity does very well with customer service and is attentive to my questions and needs.
Being in the automotive industry, they could really work to understand how flat rate technicians are paid and integrate a new feature to make it easier to use. It is a disjointed system with the way we are set up now.
