Great tool to fix latency issues. The UI is simple and very easy to use. It does not require deep technical knowledge to operate and provides very accurate reports.

The pricing, should you choose the subscribe or purchase the lifetime activation should be worth it for what it provides. Even the free version is more than enough to monitor the "current" status of your network.
  • Monitoring connection stability
  • Reports
  • Graph
  • Ease of use
  • Interface customizability
This is probably one of the best connection monitoring tools out there and the best part is you don't have to pay for it to be useful. The free version is already enough most of the time.

I use PingPlotter to understand any latency or packet loss between a test computer and the central router. I also test to see any connectivity issues to the internet. My primary reason for monitoring this is because I have a wireless bridge in between the test computer and there can be latency. This helps me troubleshoot changing the channel to get better signal.
  • Visualization, easy to understand graphs and views
  • Setup, adding and removing monitor targets is easy
  • Size, the application is pretty simple and doesn't take up a lot of system resources.
  • It would be helpful if it had more OS integration to show a view that sites on top of other windows
  • There could be a lower price point for very basic users
It is well suited for performing monitoring and testing from a single device. It is less appropriate if you have to monitor from multiple different endpoints. That type of deployment would be more of an enterprise application. If you are looking for an end user monitoring solution then PingPlotter is the one for you.

We have been using PingPlotter to observe and diagnose communication issues on all of our networks. We've been experiencing a lot of latency issues lately. This tool has also helped us determine which of our ISP circuits are performing well and when circuits need to be serviced by the ISP themselves.
  • Application GUI is user-friendly
  • The latency graph is great.
  • The jitter graph is helpful.
  • I have no improvements to suggest at this time. The tools works perfectly for our needs.

Its ideal when you want to see network statistics outside of the command prompt.

We used PingPlotter Pro to help diagnose and resolve difficult-to-pinpoint network issues. Easy to stand up devices and ping locations side-by-side to see where the problem lies. Also, invaluable to present to ISPs to graphically show issues to assist in troubleshooting.
  • Detecting network latency
  • Pinpointing bottlenecks
  • Easy to use graphical interface
  • Nothing that I can think of
The client reported network latency in the afternoon. We were able to obtain graphical info and present to the ISP that the issue was outside of the LAN.

I use PingPlotter to show the availability of VMs and management interfaces during a hardware failure. PingPlotter is tunable and flexible, and allows me to demonstrate how our technology enables zero downtime operations for all applications. PingPlotter is simple to learn and use, and is a great tool for troubleshooting network connectivity issues in any environment.
  • Monitor multiple hosts/IP at the same time.
  • Customizable ping frequency, even .5 seconds!
  • Graph view shows communication and latency history.
  • Cost is a bit high for a single license, but this is a full featured application.
If you need to monitor more than 2 IP addresses, PingPlotter Pro is the way to go. Simple to set up and easy to understand, PingPlotter should be your go-to solution.

I use PingPlotter to determine faulty communication links in a path. Problems like failure between a site and centralized services may appear and PingPlotter can help identify where efforts should be focused. The use case most recently is an authorization server intermittently times out. By connecting to the environment and running PingPlotter, the hops between the site and centralized services could run and help identify where the problem stems.
  • Provide Path discovery better than a simple traceroute
  • Identify latency
  • Provides historical information to identify potential issues overnight or several nights
  • The hops can be tricky when switches use themselves as the next hop. It would be an improvement if PingPlotter could discern if a "hop" was the same device and account for loss or latency. Currently, in this scenario, it shows latency on the device when truly non exists.
The best scenario and best results are seen when the path does not reuse the same device for the "next hop". It is less well suited in situations where the path is being tricked by the re-use of devices for the next interface. This is seen required in many networks where the proper type of connection is not on an end device and the core device is used to provide a fiber to copper sort of "pass-through" connection.

During the pandemic we shifted various components of our IT infrastructure services to different locations (i.e. Cloud, Datacenters, etc..) to help with the remote work environment and support required for such. PingPlotter helped us monitor and keep our ISP and IT infrastructure partners honest when issues were identified, specifically latency. The interface is very intuitive and displays the information that is relevant when doing ping traces and analyzing each hop.
  • Graphically displays the hop with Latency
  • Easy historical comparison
  • Quickly digest the summary of multiple ping targets
  • Graphical highlight for Latency is limited to just one section of the GUI
  • Share report could include more than just a screenshot (i.e. drill down interactive)
  • Knowledge Base could use more videos versus just text articles
PingPlotter was perfect for a before and after change related to network infrastructure. We were able to easily identify and pinpoint the hops where latency occurred and if it was related to our internal change or if it is external and out of our control. If the issue resided with the ISP we could open a ticket with them and provide the PingPlotter share link so the techs could see the results as well. The program gets the jobs done but could use some improvement related to an updated user interface.

To understand how to use this product to evaluate its ability to check for network performance and latencies. The charts and dashboards helps to provide a visual view of the pings and results and are very useful in updating the stakeholders' concerns and issues. Time and resources saved as a network engineer can easily remote in to check and update on the network at any time, compared to current where travel to the office is required.
  • dashboards and charts
  • indepth analysis of the health
  • baseline with industry standards
  • learning curve of product took some time
  • configurations to allow remote access can be improved
  • security measures for remote access ?
The tool is useful and is a quick tool compared to proprietary network product tools. The remote login interface is simple and easy to navigate to find the tools needed. Charts helps with managing stakeholders and incident queries. Probably will still fall back to the network product tools when there is further investigations needed, but this tool helps to provide a quick look at the network and decide on the next steps.

PingPlotter is used in our networking and IT department and it is great in the diagnosis of the cause of the network issues. It provides us with the graph after testing the route. Initially, it was hard for us to look for the cause of network problems but after getting PingPlotter we can monitor internal network problems and it helps in reducing the duration of the troubleshooting issues. It has been beneficial in saving our time.
  • It is good in identifying and detecting internal network issues.
  • It is helpful in decreasing the duration of troubleshooting.
  • Latency monitoring is another feature of this platform that makes it a great diagnostic tool.
  • Alerts feature.
  • Baseline threshold calculation is another plus of this tool.
  • In my opinion, there is a need for time to improve documentation.
  • The interface is dull and tricky.
  • Although I am satisfied with its reports my team is of the viewpoint that the post-project reports have room for improvement.
I am the kind of person who dots the I’s and crosses the t’s and I was in search of a tool who would do the same and trust me it was so time taking and hard to look for the network issues before PingPlotter but after it, things have become quite great and I would recommend it to the companies in search of a good and active diagnostic tool that would reduce the time of troubleshooting as well and in such scenario, it is a most favorable one.

PingPlotter was purchased to fix a simple problem, we wanted to live traceroute data and latency watching. The main issue it addresses is being able to tell us current latency and alert on this if necessary. It can also give historical data which is very useful troubleshooting issues that may have occurred in the past at some point.
We currently only run PingPlotter on one machine as this is all we currently need and it is in IT where it is used.
  • Latency monitoring
  • Traceroute
  • Alerting
  • It's lightweight
  • User-interface
  • Performance of the application
  • Documentation
PingPlotter is great if all you need is a simple latency monitoring tool and the ability to see specifically where packets are being dropped in a nice graphical interface. This can be done with things like WinMTR but what sets it aside from tools like this is it can be run as a service so constant monitoring is available. The alerting is also very useful and flexible.
However, when you need detailed monitoring this is obviously not the correct tool.
