Pipedrive for Sales and Contact Management is Great

I used Pipedrive in a sales capacity to keep track of key accounts and identify where they were in the sales cycle. In a separate project, my supervisor and I used Pipedrive in conjunction to keep track of all communication (in-person, email, telephone) either of us had with business prospects. This proved an excellent way to keep us both informed of how certain key relationships were developing and helped identify to us both simultaneously where we needed to increase efforts to reach out to potential business partners.
  • I love the ability to add email communication directly into a prospect's record in real time. This is especially helpful if you have long sales cycles or multiple people working with a single account.
  • Pipedrive is intuitive and easy to navigate.
  • The ability to identify what a sale is worth and indicate goals etc is great. The visual graphic indicators of where you are versus your goal is extremely helpful.
Cons
  • Customizing the stages to fit our needs was a little tricky in the beginning but we worked it out.
  • Not everyone uses Pipedrive for "sales" its also a great way just to keep everyone informed about activity on a particular prospect - so maybe a way to take out the "sales" portion would be good
Pipedrive is definitely very well suited to keep your sales prospects organized and on track. It may be less suited as a traditional CRM that is not focused on a monetary sales goal. Make sure you understand what you need and perhaps what you don't need. The good news is that with a little set up, you can probably customize Pipedrive for your needs, it just may take a little more up front effort for some.

The right sales CRM for a smaller business looking to scale its Sales management and organization.

We used Pipedrive to track account manager sales and training contacts as well as sales manager accounts and contacts. We've found it to be integral in our goal of reaching new accounts and maintaining contact with an ever-growing client base. In order for us to scale, we needed the organization and accountability among those teams, and Pipedrive was a key to that scalability.
  • Extremely intuitive and clean user interface. There aren't a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles involved.
  • Dashboard features were perfect for tracking numerous sales pipelines.
  • Reporting features were easy to use and highly customizeable.
Cons
  • Phone carrier integration would be helpful.
  • Calendar syncing features could be improved.
  • Ability to track more activity types.
Pipedrive is excellent for small companies where pipeline management and organization may have taken a back seat to concentrating on current sales opportunities. As client bases grow, the need for proper pipeline management and organization increases, and in our case, Pipedrive was the perfect compliment to our needs and ability to scale the business.

I started using Pipedrive as my main outreach tool. I've imported all the contacts that I had and created several templates for outreach. So the basics would be that I would send initial outreach mail and change the state of that deal to the next state. Then I would follow up on that outreach email if there were no answer for about 3 days. The main purpose of using Pipedrive was to get in touch with as many contacts in as less time possible with best possible results.
  • Labeling Contacts.
  • Adding notes to deals and pinning them to the top.
  • Email integration with any email provider/client.
Cons
  • Bulk contacting. Pipedrive does not have the option to send one email to multiple contacts at once, but instead, you would have to send them 1 by 1.
  • Not so great customization of importing data to Pipdrive through csv files. Too many required fields that don't even make sense.
Pipedrive is well suited for tracking purposes, such as checking when was the last time you spoke with your contact/person, and setting reminders such as "contact this person to have them look at the new catalog of our products," "Check up on how satisfied this person is with our product," etc. Setting up a deadline is pretty useful and you get informed via email or notification that due time is soon and that you should reach out to the customer or do some other related task.

The shining example of how pipeline tracking should be done

Deal flow management more than CRM.
  • Dead simple to use
  • Tracks email to automate many of the deal flow updates and status
  • Very customizable to serve many use cases
  • Inexpensive
  • Brilliant reporting to track your organization
Cons
  • Associating contacts with organizations is a little kludgy
  • Doesn't seem to always recognize when contacts already exist in the database
  • Would be nice if it could work for an individual who has multiple clients/companies also using the platform: my contact database tracked against pipelines for different companies
I've found nothing better.

An excellent tool to manage and customize multiple pipelines

Pipedrive is being used by my organization through managing sales and new business pipelines. Is it being used across the whole organization but managed by the growth team. It addresses business problems such as transparent contact storage, management of leads, tracking of new business prospects. Multiple stages are used within the pipeline to track progress from contact to prospect to sale. It eliminates the need for admin and provides one transparent location for teams to view and edit our CRM.
  • Manage sales leads.
  • Track activities (including reminders).
Cons
  • Easier import functionality.
  • More robust customization.
Pipedrive is well suited for bulk upload/export contact storage, management of leads, and the tracking of new business prospects.
Multiple stages can be customized in each pipeline to track progress from contact to prospect to sale.
It eliminates the need for admin and provides one transparent location for individuals to view and edit CRM. The history can be tracked to provide full visibility to all team members.
