Planview Viz Screenshots

Screenshot of Portfolio Insights consolidates the highlights from a product line, portfolio, group, or department.Screenshot of The Flow Metrics dashboard visualizes and measures product value streams. Out-of-the-box metrics and analytics reveal problem areas, illuminate dependencies, and guide investment to improve speed, velocity, and quality.Screenshot of The Flow Modeler is a visual layout of the end-to-end workflow of an entire value stream, from customer request to customer delivery. Flow Modeler builds the value stream map directly from the data in the user's tools and shows in real-time where bottlenecks are emerging.Screenshot of An easy-to-read Neglected Work Work in Progress (WIP) graph alerts you when value streams have taken on more work than they can deliver.Screenshot of Business-aligned visibility into value delivery aligns teams to measurable outcomes. Flow Metrics alone do not help an organization accelerate value delivery - they must be evaluated against business results. Business and technology teams can work toward a single set of goals and align around a joint set of outcomes.

The company had challenges in delivering new features quickly - or at all. Product Managers could not gain visibility to what work was in progress and what potential bottlenecks were causing delays or fallout. Tasktop Viz allowed us to address the problem of making work visible and identifying the work states that were causing the bottlenecks in the flow.
  • Makes work visible
  • Clearly identify active and wait states in the flow
  • Visualizes trends of value delivery
  • configuration is done at a very granular level - it's not easy to apply across items
Viz is very well suited to organizations that have a level of commitment to a product mindset. It will be less effective in situations where big silos exist between business and technology.
  • Reduced WIP
  • Increase of feature delivery
  • Reduced waste in process
It forced product leaders to be more flexible with their thinking, and less tied to a long term roadmap.
By using business results and timeline events, experiments can be measured against real results. Making this part of the business cadence is key.<br>

I have been working with Viz since the beginning. I love how the breakout of work can give you indications on what is happening within a team. The ability to dive into the work and help the teams come up with improvements and then be able to measure them is essential to the company deliverying value to our customers. I am ready for all the improvements that are coming!
  • View Flow Metrics in a simple way
  • Manage WIP
  • View into the bottlenecks
  • Based on source tool hierarchy, need view into the parent/child relationship
  • Export of data into the companys format for reporting up
The ability to view Portfolios via Insights is very helpful for the leaders looking to measure improvements. Like the breakout of Flow Item Types as well, matches up to the strategic goals.
  • Decreased our time delivery
  • Increased our quantity of features delivered
Portfolio Insights can help you look at multiple teams at one time. The one thing that needs to be made sure is that even though all the teams information is one one page, the teams themselves are not to be compared. We do not want to create any anti-patterns in our agile transformation.
It has given me the ability to look at the data with different timeframes and compare the teams progress as we move through our transformation. Which has been helpful.

Work flow tool to build on an enhance the data gleaned from Rally.
As a Scrum Master, I seek to maximize the flow per iteration and PI, minimize carryover, maximize throughput and minimize team burnout.
  • Visualize via charts and graphs
  • Ignore story points
  • Allow a great detail of customization
  • As I am still learning the tool, it seems overly complex and non intuitive to me
  • Doesn't allow inclusion of colors (i.e. for story types) to be brought over from Rally
  • Error messages appear to be obscure at times
I believe it might be better for teams, trains and organizations that have a lot of data (i.e. established rather than new). Also may be better the higher up you go in an organization, as long as their practices (i.e. SAFe) are reasonably consistent.
  • Expect it to increase speed
  • Expect it to increase productivity
  • Expect it to improve predictability
  • Expect it to improve visibility
  • Expect it to improve ROI
Though not implemented across my organization yet, expect that Viz can help planning based on knowing historical delivery volume, speed and cadence. Knowing past should help forecast future strategy.
I expect it will for both of my teams and ideally, across the organization.
Much more advanced and customizable than iterations of the above tools I've used. But more focused on Flow metrics than others. And more complex, IMO.
