  • Postman is free (although there's a paid tier that offers more features) so using it for testing APIs comes with little to no risk (besides learning curve).
  • The learning curve is a little steep for non-developer users, but developers should find it easy to pick up and use right out of the box, so to speak.

  • We use the free tier of Postman, for development purposes, the free tier does a lot alright. The only difference I think between the free and paid version is that the paid version allows for collaborative work with APIs, changes on one API by a developer will be reflected on others. And since we don't use that feature, we are okay on a free tier and hence its great tool since it is free and is of great use.

  • Use of the free functionality is certainly a positive ROI.
  • Paid functionality for teams is reasonable and depending on the applications being developed, will have a positive ROI though in my case, I have not yet moved to the paid edition.
