We use PowerDMS for accreditation. It is a great tool that has eliminated the use of paper proofs. Using the program daily, I believe it is user-friendly and their customer service is excellent!

We use Power DMS to store our policies and procedures. We also use it for our accreditation process.
Pros
  • Allows users to electronically sign for the agency policies and procedures.
  • We can easily revise polices and procedures without needed to reprint a manual.
  • Holds all documentation of proofs for our accreditation process.
  • Users can review their policy anywhere.
Cons
  • I would like a way to redact a document inside the standards module.

It is the best way to get information out to a mass of people all at once and to keep up with who has reviewed the material and who needs to be reminded to review the material.

We are an emergency services agency and use PowerDMS for our accreditation.
Pros
  • Easy to navigate software
  • Easy to search
  • Super awesome customer service
  • Integrated and useful help files and blog - love the help blogs - easier than 90% of the customer blogs out there
Cons
  • I would like to see more of a dashboard look, especially for the courses - easier to add modules, etc.
  • They just added folders, but more fully integrated folders and the ability to easily move items around would be more efficient

PowerDMS is definitely suited to any entity seeking to manage their accreditation, or their policies and procedures.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Currently, PowerDMS is used as a document management system that houses all of our policies and general orders. The entire organization uses the system from the top down and it has been very useful in keeping all employees on the same page. Every employee not only has access to the desktop version of PDMS but they also use the mobile app for many reasons. The mobile app allows supervisors to search certain General Orders in the field to ensure adherence and quality of service to our community.
Pros
  • PDMS is extremely user-friendly from both the administrator aspect and the user.
  • The workflow process is awesome and easy to set up.
  • PDMS's support team is barred none. We've never had issues with reaching out to find a simple solution to our challenges.
Cons
  • I would love to see the interface with other RMS so that certain jobs wouldn't be so redundant for HR.
  • I don't have any other issues

Likelihood to Recommend
PDMS keep every aspect of our policies intact and easy to access. We have had questions in the field on everything to uniform and appearance to pursuit policies and we're able to research and provide an educated answer right there using the mobile app. Keeping all historical data of previous policies have come in very useful when the media wants to know what changed.

Power DMS is an excellent tool to house all language and training for a police department.

At NPD we used Power DMS to house all of our language for the department. Also, we use it for training and CALEA Accreditation.

Power DMS is excellent to use and house language. It is very easily navigated, and everything is housed together. I use Power DMS for all of our language, directives, maps, phone numbers, EPP, school maps, it is a great tool for officers on the street when they need to look up information.
