What is Schoology Learning?

Schoology, now a PowerSchool Unified Classroom product, is a learning management system (LMS). Schoology’s platform is built specifically for the needs of K-12 students, teachers, and administrators. Schoology aims to combine as many parts of the learning process as possible into a single platform. By doing this they aim to simplify the learning experience for students, parents, and teachers.

The Basic Package is free for instructors and includes features such as an Academic Activity Dashboard, Instructional Tools, and a Native Document Grader. The Enterprise Package includes the Basic Package and additional features such as Systemwide Administration, User Management, and Workload Planning.

PowerSchool acquired Schoology in late 2019.

Overview of Schoology Features

Schoology focuses on student mastery of learning objectives by offering a proficiency model of grading and traditional numeric grades. Through their online platform, it is simple to deliver assessments to students regardless of their location. Assessments are flexible and can be quick quizzes, locally-created benchmarks, or district-wide assessments.

Through Schoology’s built-in data and analytics, educators can determine what is working and what is not at several different levels. The reports generated give information at both the class and school level and can be used by teachers to determine how their students are doing, as well as administrators to ensure that all students school-wide are on track. Reports can be shared via a secure URL, and access is filtered based on staff permissions

Schoology aims to ensure effective communication between parents and educators. Teachers can send weekly digests about classroom activities. Parents can instantly access their students' grades to get an idea of their child’s full learning experience.

Per the vendor, Schoology is easy to use in combination with other learning tools and comes with over 200 native integrations. Educators can use said tools to quickly create assignments. Courses can be built from scratch, or educators can use Schoology’s content library that contains over 300 applications. Courses can be easily shared with other teachers or can be re-used across multiple academic years.

Collaboration is encouraged between teachers through the Public Groups pages on Schoology. These are community pages where educators can share ideas, ask questions and learn from each other.

Tailored Education Solutions

Schoology aims to create a highly tailored educational experience for students that ensures that they meet learning objectives in the way that works best for them. By offering personalized pacing, students can work through the material at the speed that suits their individual needs.

Educators also have the option of creating lessons that give students a choice in how they learn the material. Students can select the tasks that suit their learning style, and a grade for that lesson appears in the grade book, regardless of which task was selected.

Schoology also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between students, even in a remote learning environment. The Groups feature allows students to communicate and store resources about sports, clubs, etc. outside of their course modules.

Schoology is being used as our districts LMS. As a high school teacher, I use schoology to blend my classroom. I deliver course content through schoology, have discussions and accept student work. I can grade through schoology too. For me, schoology is the one resource I use daily in my classroom.
  • Allows me to provide instant, meaning, individualized feedback for students.
  • Gives me a platform to share links, documents and discussions with my students.
  • Saves me time when grading quizzes and tests.
  • They are working to improve their assessment questions which will be amazing!
  • Sharing discussions across multiple sections of a course would be nice.
Great for education. Can be used to stay connected to students, parents and other educators.

Schoology is being used by our whole organization.
  • Excellent management system for teachers.
  • Easy for students to use.
  • Provides a great resource for communication with parents.
  • Additional features to the gradebook program.
Schoology is an excellent LMS for schools. It provides communication with parents, students, fellow staff members and the entire education community. Students have the ability to connect 24/7 to their school environment and can work from virtually anywhere. Parents can communicate with teachers and can see what their students should be completing.

Schoology is being implemented from PreK through 12th grade and all of administration. We are able to house all of our communication materials for teachers, staff, and administrators to access at any time. Teachers use Schoology to extend the learning, communicate with parents/ staff, and blend the learning in the classroom.
  • The options to organize mateirals.
  • Integration of other websites/hosts.
  • Use social media to allow teachers to grow and collaborate with other educators.
  • Their help center seems to move slower than we would like.
  • Needing a badge log in like Clever for our younger crowd.
Best suited would be in in education type settings. The set up of Schoology is a learning management system. Another suited place would be in the corporate world to allow employees to learn new skills on their own time. I think a food service would not want the use of Schoology.

Schoology is my school district's LMS. It is used across our entire organization, from daily interactions with students, to staff training, to dissemination of the curriculum in every subject area. It addresses the need to share materials across all levels (elementary, middle, and high school) along with sharing student data and supervision between teachers, administrators, counselors, monitoring teachers, and other staff. Everything from discussion to assessment can be done with little effort.
  • As a classroom teacher, I can assign projects to a whole class, a small group, or a single student, and manage all the responses from a single dashboard.
  • I can allow a monitoring teacher access to a student's work and discussion answers so we can work together to meet the needs of each student.
  • I can grade effectively using rubrics linked to state standards, giving us another tool to help determine content mastery in our students.
  • I would like to see a way that student data is preserved if a student is pulled from my class and put in someone else's class. Right now, that data disappears unless you add the student back in to the class they left.
  • I'd like to see an easier way to edit an assignments common to multiple planning periods. Even if you create a resource or assignment in the Resources section, when you share it out to other classes, you have to go in and make any changes in EACH class.
  • The app allows students to submit discussion answers and assignments, but the app looks very different from the online site. This leads to some confusion when students are trying to submit assignments.
It is great for blended learning with students in upper elementary through high school. It is easy to use for students and teachers. For English as a Second Language learners, it is a great way to show completed examples. I can even assign something different than the rest of the class. I don't know where it would be inappropriate.

Our public school district utilizes Schoology for students across grades K-12 for student learning, grade posting, and information sharing. All of the teachers and administrators in our schools utilize Schoology to post and communicate with students and parents throughout the school year, and the information includes anything from specific classroom assignments to school-wide announcements.
  • Schoology empowers students to track and monitor their progress within all of their courses.
  • Schoology bridges communication gaps between parents and classroom teachers.
  • Schoology elevates the learning environment for classroom teachers by allowing them to digitally transform student assignments.
  • The iOS based app for Schoology does not include many of the features that are available through the browser-based version.
  • Some of the reporting features available through Schoology are antiquated, making grading data difficult to interpret.
  • Users don't have the options to set their own default settings, making information curation timely in some cases.
Schoology is well suited for classroom teachers who implement a digital learning environment and need a platform to post and share specific resources and school documents for student consumption. Schoology should be implemented as a way to redesign a classroom learning environment. Teachers who are looking for a system to simply organize grades or store files should find another program because Schoology works best if students download and share information back within the learning management system.

Schoology is a Learning Management System. Our system is public education and use if they choose. Although it is designed for education with a robust assessment, grading, and connectivity to other modules, it has been quite helpful in training and professional development for adults. The flexibility of this platform makes accessibility a breeze. Learning, sharing, or doing can be available as needed, whether it be at 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the middle of the night.
  • Easy - The platform is easy to use for the educator as well as the learner. Everything is in one place. The interface is pleasant to view, to use, to communicate, to track, as well as many other things. So many good things in Schoology! As you can tell, I'm a big fan.
  • Assessment - The assessment is the most robust I have ever used. There are many different types of questions that can be used as well as embedding documents, websites, materials, video, etc. into the assessment. Learners can get immediate feedback. Another piece I regularly enjoy are the question banks. You can use ones others have developed as well as creating your own.
  • Communication - There are numerous areas for communication. The Update feature allows for one way (educator to learner) or interactive (bi-directional) communication. You can have discussions in real time or as the users have the opportunity. You can also message between users.
  • Shared Resources - AMAZING... the use of the Resources section has been a life saver in decreasing the quantity of work required to collaborate with fellow teachers.
  • Linking Accounts - At my school, we link our accounts and are able to help each other out whenever someone needs help.
  • Professional Groups - There are many groups of professionals with different areas of interest. You can either join a group that meets your needs or an individual or organization can create a group. There are options to make your groups anywhere from private to public.
  • Apps - Many educational apps are available that work right inside of Schoology. In particular, Google Drive, Google Assignments, and Quizlet are my go to apps. Playposit is also available and so much more.
  • Connecting with other professionals using Schoology - This is great. You can meet others from anywhere... inside of your organization to across the country to anywhere in the world.
  • Rubrics - Oh so easy to use. I can create my own or use rubrics other teachers have shared. The rubric also allows a direct connection to state and national standards. You can then follow students achievements within the standards.
  • Printing assessments could use improvement. There is little flexibility of the output and uses a great deal more paper than needed.
  • The Updates has little formatting available. I usually need to create what I want in a Google document so that the formatting is better and then cut and paste. That is an unnecessary step. Schoology should make it possible to use html code to format an update and add pictures or video.
  • Google Drive integration is good, but I can't control the way it sorts documents and folders. It can be awkward to find something in Drive that I'm looking for.
Schoology is extremely well suited for ANY educational environment including any sort of professional development or corporate training. Groups with a common interest in something can also use Schoology to share information, documents, and experiences.

Schoology is used at my corporation by ALL teachers. It is a requirement for each classroom. We are a 1 to 1 school and this helps our teachers and students stayed organized.
  • Schoology keeps all the lessons organized into units for the students to find.
  • Schoology is able to sync all assignments from Schoology to PowerSchool.
  • Schoology allows a teacher to upload pre-made tests so the students can take the test and Schoology will auto grade it.
  • One of the test examples is called ordering. It is hard to grade and auto grading doesn't work real well on this question type.
  • It is hard to submit homework questions without creating a test/quiz and telling students it is only homework.
I have used three LMS solutions and Schoology is by far the best. Syncing of your grades is a huge time saver. Having a resource to "hold" your lessons, unit etc. is great time saver also. I don't use the grade book for any other reason than to sync to PowerSchool. If Schoology was a full-service SIS also, that would help in reducing the number of programs we use.

Schoology is our Learning Management System that houses all our our 9-12 curriculum and resources. We use this LMS as an entire organization across three separate states within which we manage schools. This platform is easy to navigate for students and teachers, with the adoption process happening much faster than with our old LMS.
  • The user interface is easy to navigate and intuitive for students and teachers.
  • The completion rules help simplify students progressing through the curriculum, allowing me to control if they skip ahead or not.
  • The notifications for courses are great for teachers. It easily allows a teacher to see what needs to be graded.
  • Grading group permissions need to be elevated to the folder level. Currently, you can only assign individual assignments to grading groups.
  • Math needs algorithmic questions.
  • I would like to be able to link courses to a Master Course; this would allow me to make updates in the Master course and it would be pushed out to the linked courses.
Schoology is great for K-12 learning. The new platform experiences will be great for the K-5 students. I have limited exposure to Schoology in a collegiate setting, though I know that is a priority for the company. Schoology is on the cutting edge of improving the LMS experience for blended and online learning.

Our district just finished it's third year of full enterprise implementation with Schoology at the secondary level. We use it as our Learning Management System.

This product has made our 1:1 iPad implementation more effective by giving our teachers and students an efficient way to manage digital workflow, as well as allow our teachers to differentiate and provide varied digital assessments and resources to their students.
  • Ease of use. Very intuitive interface.
  • Discussion
  • Better ways to integrate digital content from other platforms. (Using the embed code should work, but often requires users to click the open out of Schoology tab, which is small and can be easily overlooked.)
It is perfect for a secondary classroom in any subject area to use as as the digital hub for the room. It may also be appropriate for upper elementary, but there are other apps that would work better for younger studnets.

Schoology was purchased for our school district and is being used by all educators and students. Students are able to get work delivered directly to them. As a user I can send different assignments to different students. Teachers are able to share common files or files needed by the whole district. Parents are even able to see what their child is doing in the classroom.
  • I was able to develop personalized learning for my math students. Students worked on various tasks to meet their needs and to take formative quizzes so I knew who to challenge and who to pull for a small group.
  • Students have been given copies of short articles in small groups. They can read the assigned article and discuss it within Schoology. They also can take notes based on their research.
  • I am able to post information to parents about our daily schedule. Copies of worksheets or homework. Parents can also see pictures I post again giving parents information about our class.
  • I needed to get specific help in setting up my math course so that students could not move forward before doing step one. It was not intuitive to me so I received help.
  • I would also like to see all assignments posted not just the last assignment. There are times students post an assignment to the wrong course and then I am not able to see their first attempt. I want to see them all.
Any age level can use this LMS. My 4th graders are great at using this type of technology. They get most of their work via Schoology and they love it. As a teacher I really like looking for information the district has filed for us. It is easy to use and search.

I currently work at an educational service unit in Nebraska. We serve 32 mostly rural schools via on-site training, workshops, and online modules. We currently use Schoology to deliver materials via courses, share updates and network via groups, and provide support for our schools who use Schoology as their LMS. Prior to this role, I used Schoology for four years in my 7-12 ELA classroom. In both instances, Schoology has been an extremely valuable resource!
  • When I provide training to new Schoology users, I like to say that it is a love child between Blackboard and Facebook, meaning that the Schoology interface is intuitive and easy to use. Students love the fact they can "like" other responses and teachers appreciate the ease of use for creating courses and adding materials.
  • Schoology also has very active users that are constantly sharing best practices and collaboratively problem solving via the "Groups" feature. I appreciate that I can pose a question when I have an issue and get a quick response. This fast turn around keeps users happy and creates an amazing PLN around specific topics.
  • Finally, Schoology is always evolving based on user needs and requests. I am looking forward to the G-Suite integration as well as the new Assessment Management Platform (AMP)!
  • I do struggle with formatting when creating discussion boards. Changing text and resizing images can be difficult with the current text editor. It works, but sometimes it's not the prettiest!
  • Some of the advanced features (linking sections, Mastery, etc) are often difficult for some users. While I appreciate these features, making them more user friendly would grant more access to users who aren't as tech savvy.
If your school is 1:1 and you struggle juggling all of the tech tools available, Schoology is the perfect solution. Without a solid LMS, infusing tech into daily lessons can feel like herding cats. Schoology puts everything in one place, allows for several teaching styles, and will connect to your SIS to transfer grades, making 1:1 life infinitely easier! Even if you're not 1:1, students can log on to Schoology and submit assignments, access materials, and take assessments.

Our district is the 7th largest in Texas. This last year we began rolling out Schoology through the use on online Professional Development and next year it will be used my classroom teachers to access curriculum as well as by teachers and students for coursework. Schoology is a great LMS for blended learning. Between the ability to embed and various features like discussion boards and media albums, Schoology allows for a robust learning experience. Acting as a central hub, students are able to easily and consistently access course materials. Grading is extremely easy and provides students with feedback. For PD, the use of classes not only helps teachers learn at the pace they need, but also easily access the resources. We also use it for curriculum, which makes it wonderfully easy to copy exemplar lessons over into courses. The very best thing about Schoology is once you make something, you only have to make it once. And if you use a link to/embed web docs, when you update the docs they will auto update in Schoology, saving teachers tons of steps.
  • Allows learners to have some control over path, pace, place or time.
  • Organizing and sharing lessons and resources with your PLC is so easy! You can have your PLC in group, organizing documents and activities and then each can copy over to course, adjusting as needed for teachers.
  • Grading is super easy. You see a preview of the assignment, so you don't even have to download it to see it, which makes it easy. Then you post the score and any feedback you'd like to give. Then all you have to do is press an arrow and you go to the next assignment. Quick and immediate.
  • I wish it were able to have grouping for students where it creates a private area just for that literature circle group or that project group where they can discuss things without the entire class seeing. I know I can just assign individually, but for long-term groups, it isn't efficient.
  • There is something a tiny funky about cutting and pasting text and adjusting formatting. It is manageable, but for someone who really likes things to look consistent.
It is best suited for blended learning environments or even a teacher that just wants to house resources digitally. I don't feel there really is a scenario where it is inappropriate. Even if you only have access to a computer lab once a week or a couple computers or BYOD, you can make it work. Where there is a will there is a way!

We are using Schoology in our school district as our learning management system. Before Schoology, most teachers didn't have an LMS. If they did, they used Google Classroom, or free versions of LMSs. We currently are still in the implementation phase. Some teachers use it, others don't. One problem is consistency. Students start to count on Schoology being used by all teachers, and it isn't yet. We are getting there though.
  • We are moving toward paperless classrooms. Costs less and good for the environment!
  • Schoology is a one stop shop for students and parents. Students can see when all assignments are due in on one calendar, and parents can also see when assignments are due.
  • Schoology has some great features, one being gradeable discussions.
  • The grading feature isn't great yet. It's hard to grade written assignments with the current platform. We've been told improvements are in the works.
  • The gradebook does not tie in with our student data management tool. As a result, teachers use the gradebook in our data management tool and don't even look at the gradebook in schoology.
Well Suited: When everyone student has a device.

Less Appropriate: When each student doesn't have a device.

Schoology is being used in grades 6-12 across the district. We are just finishing our first year of implementation. We had regular meetings with our Technology Support Teacher who guided us through some modules she created to help us better understand Schoology.
  • Schoology's app is very easy to use. You are able to grade right in the app which is convenient for busy teachers.
  • Schoology's online assessment builder is great for English Language Learners because you can create assessments with rich text, which means you can incorporate videos, pictures and other tools that may help the student feel successful.
  • The ability to collaborate with teacher's all over the country is wonderful. It opens your eyes to new and different ways of teaching!
  • The Schoology app does not allow you to view students' blogs.
  • Would like to see Schoology add the ELPA21 standards for ELLs into the program.
  • Would like to have ProgressBook and Schoology talk to each other so grades would not need to be imported.
Schoology is well suited for assessment creation while it could do a better job with blogging.

Schoology is being used across my organization for both providing professional development/learning and for department/job alike communication/collaboration. In addition to our teachers using Schoology our administrative assistants, consultants, and specialists use it as well.
  • Integration with SIS and other applications like Google Drive and OneDrive
  • Amazing platform to meet the needs of every type of user from beginner to intermediate to advanced
  • A great way to bring the community (parents) into the classroom through the Parent Pin access to student accounts
  • They are already improving the Assessment Platform to be released this summer.
  • They are already improving the GSuite for Education and OneDrive integrations for this summer.
  • I wish there was a glossary and lesson planning tool like Moodle used to provide for more advanced users.
Perfect for use in K12 classrooms and extracurricularr activities. I can't think of any situation in K12 where Schoology will not meet your needs.

We are using Schoology for our senior and junior school as our main source of communication for students, parents, and teachers. We have class enrollments that allow for students to submit assignments, use external tools with assignments, online formative quizzes, discussion forums, storing resources for students, links to sites for students, calendar integration, portfolio storage, email communications and push-notifications on the app.
  • This tool allows for parents, students and teachers to stay organized and connected to the learning environment.
  • Communications is clear and accurate.
  • External tools can be integrated such as Google Drive, One Drive, Turn-it-in and blackbaud and other SIS integration.
  • They are very receptive to changes and implement changes based on user requests quickly.

Schoology is used by the entire district and the entire state as the Learning Management System of choice. It addresses issues of differentiation, collaboration, and communication between teachers in a district as well as with teachers and students. It offers students the opportunity to experience blended and online learning, thus preparing them for life in the 21st century. It also saves teachers time with differentiation, personalization, and tracking mastery.
  • Schoology listens to its users by constantly updating and working to provide a better platform.
  • Schoology is fairly user-friendly and easy to teach students to use.
  • Schoology has so many functions making it easy for every teacher to use it in ways that make sense for them and their classrooms.
  • Sometimes there are too many ways to do things. Especially with special education students; sometimes having too many options is overwhelming.
  • There are some bugs that I constantly have to use workarounds for.
Schoology has given me the opportunity to make learning accessible for all of my students. I serve a population of students with extremely diverse needs. Schoology and its individual assign feature, as well as the ability to create groups of students, has made differentiating a breeze. This has made it easier for struggling students to still engage in the curriculum and find a voice.

Our school district uses Schoology to build school culture and climate and to enhance the learning experience of our students. The ability to communicate from the class, school, and district level is amazing. The parents of our district love the weekly newsletter with their students' grades!
  • Schoology allows teachers to build rich courses with a variety of materials including text, video and external links.
  • Schoology allows teachers to collaborate via groups. Student groups and athletic teams also use groups to communicate and collaborate.
  • Schoology allows teachers to differentiate via grading groups and assigning a task to students individually.
  • Schoology supports many different file types. However, Mac products are not supported which requires a few extra steps i.e. exporting files to PDF or other supported files
Any school with a 1:1 environment would benefit from the use of a rich LMS such as Schoology.

Schoology is used in our high school, primarily in our ninth and tenth grades. We run a Bring Your Own Device program that will roll up and eventually be part of grades 8-12. We needed a centralized learning management system to simplify the process of converting our paper-full classrooms to paperless classrooms. This allows our staff to use common assessments and work as collaborative teams while collecting student data for quick analysis.
  • Schoology works very well with Google products. We are a GAFE school so needed a product that would work in that environment.
  • The analytics are invaluable when making data-driven decisions.
  • Schoology's user interface is clean and simple. It's very intuitive for both students and staff.
  • I would like to see more assessment options. There are more on the way, according to Schoology.
  • I would like to see a simpler way to grade submissions. For example, you should be able to sort by "needs grading" once you are in the submissions instead of scrolling through all of the students again.
  • I would like to be able to offer differentiation options through the assessments based on student's responses.
I have been a strong advocate for Schoology at our middle school. I would like to see our students start using Schoology as soon as they start the BYOD program instead of waiting until they are in high school. It is a strong program that offers more abilities than Google Classroom by far.

Schoology is currently being used across the entire district. We are a one to one district with iPads in grades K-8 and laptops at the high school level. Schoology is the learning management system that I am using as a teacher to distribute and gather assignments from my students.
  • Schoology allows for personalized instruction of materials for students without others knowing that someone is getting something different.
  • Allows students without a voice (too scared to speak in the classroom) an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas.
  • Opens communication for all students,
  • From a management aspect, I create on the web but my students are using the app. The amazing feature of using badges is not accessible from the app. I believe that this will be coming in the future. Our workaround is to log into the web version to see the badges.
  • When able to individualize instruction I want the ability to give an entire folder to a specific students. Currently at this point I do not have that ability.
Any school that is one to one should be using a learning management system. It cleans up the clutter and allows all students to be able to access their materials without fear of losing them.

This is the first full-year Schoology is being used for the entire school, from Ready to Learn (age 0-3) to High School (up to age 21). We are a school for the deaf. Staff are taking multiple challenges via a course to learn how to use Schoology with their students. The goal is to introduce parents via some kind of training. This is tentatively planned for next year. Unless it has already happened. Bottom line is, Schoology is a major part of our school. Last year only the HS department used Schoology. We received multiple trainings from our educational technology coordinator. I use Schoology to communicate with individual students (to schedule, reschedule, or cancel sessions. I'm a counselor), a group of students (for clubs and organizations), and staff members (my own team of counselors, administrators, etc.).
  • User-friendly
  • Interactive
  • Efficient use of time
1. Group features. Multiple groups suited for particular members. You can post updates, start a discussion board, post pictures and videos in album, and store files under Resources.
2. Messages. Can be used instead of emails. Group messages can be used as well.
3. Calendar. Easy viewed. To keep track of events happening around the building (school).

Schoology is used by teachers and students K-12 in Park Hill School District. All teachers have courses in Schoology for the courses they teach were they are able to place content, assignments, study materials, etc. It's also used for groups and staff development purposes. We strive to integrate other sytems within the Schoology platform.
  • Data integration with our SIS was easy to set up.
  • The easy to use graphical interface is quickly mastered by all levels of learners. This makes training quick and easy.
  • The overall use of the system is easy customizable. Teachers have the ability to order and organize things how they want.
  • The analytics in Schoology need improvement. The analytics that are currenlty available are good, just lacking in some areas.
  • Personal Resources doesn't have the ability to assign due dates. This would be a great improvement when teachers are trying to setup course content before the courses have been created in the system for the year.
Our teachers and students love Schoology. The easy to use interface and ability to adapt assignments to online learning is excellent. The majority of our courses are in a face to face, traditional classroom environment and teachers like the ability to include online resources. Expecially with students having 1:1 computer devices.

Currently the enterprise version of Schoology is being employed by two districts I service as an instructional technology specialist. We are finding great success with the product k-12 as a digital extension of the classroom. Schoology is utilized as a platform for communicating with families, creating and managing events and assignments, sharing content and media, collecting feedback and generating discussions, and finally facilitating formal assessments. Our participation, while not mandatory, continues to grow organically as both teachers and students witness the benefit of its implementation in neighboring classrooms and departments.
  • Content management
  • Assessment administration
  • Communication forum
  • Differentiation
  • Assessment analytics
  • Google integration
  • Gradebook integration with SIS
Schoology is well suited for any educational institution grades k-12. Schoology is less appropriate for an institution already with a learning management system in place.

Schoology is a Learning Management System being used by my school district. It is a system designed to be used by staff and students. The platform is built for collaboration. Educators from around the world can create and share resources. It can be used to organize information, post assignments, assess and interact with students.
  • Collaboration:
  • Schoology allows staff to share resources and ideas. The LMS allows for the formation of groups that are tailored to a specific area. Educators are able to post discussion questions, build a digital file cabinet of resources and learn from others in their school or from around the world.
  • Assignments:
  • Teachers are able to develop courses that address the needs of 21st century learners. From scheduling and assessing assignments to differentiating the curriculum, Schoology allows you to design a course that is just right for your students.
  • Usage:
  • Schoology is designed to be user friendly. The layout of the LMS is simple and strait-forward. Looking for help and answers to your questions is part of the user friendly interface.
  • Schoology Functions:
  • Tools built by Schoology work like a dream. Tools for assessing students and providing feedback are some of the best features of the LMS. However, Schoology has a small list of "apps" that can integrate with it's grade book function. Allowing more 3rd party apps to access grade book would provide teachers with more ways to engage and assess students.
Schoology is a great tool for engaging 21st-century learners. It is designed to differentiate instruction. The site is easy to navigate for elementary school students and is robust enough to tackle the demands of higher education. However, it is difficult took to utilize in the K-2 setting.
