General contractors, construction management.
All Project management features within Procore are well designed and improving. We like drawing related tools and inspections / observations.
The current reporting tools are not sufficient for our needs, we are holding out hope the upcoming report enhancement release will address some of these issues. Cross tool reporting anchored by cost code is a crucial step.
Safety forms and documentation has a lot of room for improvement. Safety record keeping is becoming a major issue for many construction companies we would like to avoid purchasing another software package just for Safety. Procore has room to improve value with Safety.

We have been using Procore to manage all of our tracking from the prebid documents, bidding, RFI, RFPs, plans... everything that would have been tracked otherwise with excel spreadsheets for each topic.
  • Submittals
  • Drawings
  • RFIs
  • Daily Logs
  • Change Orders
  • Contracts
  • Bidding Lists
  • Implementation of Closeout Tracking/Use for Owners
Procore is well suited for everything... honestly, I have had no issues with the software throughout my use. The one thing that I would recommend is a step-by-step scenario training for first-time users as they are doing something rather than having to watch videos and take quizzes, this could be more hands-on then studying about the different topics and then figuring it out on your own.

I use Procore to manage commercial construction projects. It helps to keep all of the most up-to-date information for all the stakeholders to be able to view and access. It helps keep everyone on the same page and helps to keep everyone organized working efficiently.
  • Organization.
  • Convenience.
  • Simple.
  • App can be slow to load.
Procore is useful for things to keep the most up-to-date plans organized. It is useful to keep all submittals together in one place that is very organized. It is useful for organizing RFIs and linking them to the most current drawings so everyone can access them. I do not use it for budgeting.

Our company currently uses Procore every day in order to manage our construction projects. We do projects of all sizes from small-scale reno's to large scale new builds. We currently use Project Management tools, Financial Management Tools, and the Procon Tools. We are in the process of integrating our ERP system with our Procore financials in order to have consistency through our project and company financials. There are many benefits to Procore which have structurally changed our company. With the project management side, keeping projects on schedule has become much easier and with the tracking mechanisms for R.F.I's and submittals more projects are finishing on time or at the least being red-flagged if problems arise. With the financial tools, we are not only tracking project financials better but it is helping with estimating future projects as historical cost data is more readily available.
  • Keeping Companies Organized
  • Tracking Financials
  • Tracking Submittals
  • Tracking R.F.I.'s
  • Very steep learning curve
  • Will require you to make structural changes to your company operations
  • Information input is very heavy
  • Getting outsider buy in to using the product
Procore is well suited for companies who are beginning to get into larger projects in which lots of paperwork is beginning to flow between themselves and the client. Because of the steep learning curve the earlier in the companies life that it begins to use Procore the easier it will be to implement it as you will not be throwing away old processes for the new Procore ones but developing Procore processes from the start. If your company is already very large it may be difficult to transition or the transition process may be very slow as just about every process in your company will need to be overhauled to fit into Procore. This may not be a bad thing though as Procore's processes are usually an improvement over outdated ones.

We are a General Contractor, so Procore is a big help to us for communicating and streamlining between our office staff, owners & subcontractors. My position consists of multiple departments- HR, Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, Compliance & a few more so Procore makes it easy for me to get exactly what I need and get it quickly.
  • Procore is very user-friendly, everything is labeled well, easy to understand & the overall flow is great.
  • The Help/Training/CEU area of the site is absolutely top-notch. The vast variety of options is so helpful. There is always something new to learn and an easy way to learn it!
  • I love that Procore integrates with so many softwares and offers the options to partner with other customers to make my job more streamlined- which in turn saves us money.
  • Procore does an amazing job of listening to their customers suggestions. They're always asking for opinions, ways to improve, etc. I have never seen a company so interested in what their customers think.
  • There are a lot of areas that I haven't used or don't use often, so I can't comment on most of the items I have heard complaints on & it wouldn't be fair of me to do so.
  • The only issue I ever have when using Procore is when I am in my subcontractor invoicing area. When I am looking for a sub's billing & want to do a search in all of the billing periods, the entire list of billing periods doesn't show up until I click on billing periods, wait for the page to load, click back over to invoicing, click on the billing periods drop down, sometimes they will all be listed, sometimes I have to click back to the billing period tab & refresh.
Procore is a great asset for those that have staff all over the place. Whether it [is] between clients, owners, vendors, subcontractors, receptionists, etc. The possibilities are endless

I create observations, use it for construction drawings, and use it to do daily reports.
  • Daily reports.
  • Documenting photos.
  • Creating documentation of issues onsite.
  • Integrating other programs into it. (Google docs, Sheets, etc.).
Daily reports, t&m tickets, sharing plans and markups are all great. It is less appropriate for installer use. There is a big learning curve and it's hard for less computer-savvy people to use. A much easier app experience separate from the normal one would be helpful (like galexys easy mode would be great).

I utilize Procore for all aspects of the project. I utilize all tools with the exception of the project accounting tools. We utilize Procore to manage daily activities as well as for upcoming tasks. Some problems that help my daily tracking are the tasks and tools that are provided at a company level. I manage multiple jobs at a time and having the ability to utilize my dashboard and keep track of all the items that I have outstanding helps me keep organized.
  • Submittals, Easily able to track and keep a running record of documentation.
  • RFI's ability to track costs and impacts to the project in one useful tool.
  • Keeping all items for a job in one location. I love that Procore is my one-stop shopping for all items related to my project.
  • Integration between tools. There is little integration between tools such as RFI's and submittals and meeting minutes and creating tasks etc. There should be more cross-tool utility.
Procore is one of the better project management software out there that is useful for tracking items on a project and keeping it organized.

Procore is leveraged company-wide as our primary project management software. It streamlines document management and field quality control. It drives efficiency by reducing the time spent on filing, printing, sending, and managing document distribution and storage. Our field staff use it for real-time quality control and safety management. Our engineering staff consolidate all RFI's, submittals, photo documentation, change management, etc. into one place where the full project team (including subcontractor team members, design team members, and Owner team members, can view in real time.
  • RFI
  • Submittals
  • Drawing Management
  • Quality Control Documentation
  • Financial Tools
  • Photo management
  • Drawing markups
  • RFI distribution
  • Budget Reports
Procore is ideal for field use. The mobile app is built to be easy to use and highly intuitive. Any level of sophistication on the field staff side is enough to learn to effectively leverage the tool. The observation tool is especially useful for field staff employees as it allows real-time and location-specific deficiency tracking. Similarly, the mobile inspections are ideal as they allow a user to perform an inspection in the field and photo document, distribute, and manage the entire process from the field without the need for a desktop computer application.

I am currently using Procore as a general contractor project manager. Throughout the project cycle, we use it for drawings, RFIs, submittals, financials, and other items. Procore has made it so easy to have a wealth of information at our fingertips while we're in the office but also out in the field. I love being able to document a field observation with just a few taps and send out immediately.
  • Ease of accessibility in the field.
  • Tracking all moving parts of the project.
  • Would love to be able to see change orders on the app.
As a PM who is in the field regularly, it's especially helpful to be able to use my iPad right there to pull up submittals, RFIs, drawings, and observations while on a site walk.

I&E is a GC who uses Procore mostly as Document Control. We use it to convey plans to the crews in the field. Field staff fills out daily logs to keep track of past work and keep the office informed of project performance. We also keep track of purchase orders and Subcontracts in Procore. Creating subcontracts and POs in Procore is faster and more effective the AIA or Excel versions we used before. It also helps keep track of where subcontracts are in the execution process. Also we use it as a means of keeping track of who is on-site when and where are they working. This helps in verifying schedules and protecting ourselves in case injuries occur on site.
  • Keep track of plans
  • Compile repots on day to day operationso n site
  • Creation and Tracking of Subcontracts and POs
  • Scheduling (let us mark days as complete or on track in the daily log).
  • Equipment usage and tracking (dose not work for Civil Contractors).
  • More crossover from Daily log to other programs like inspections or scheduling.
Procore is very well suited for compiling backup/ proving work was done. In our rehab department we take pictures of everything we do and Procore does an amazing job at compiling them with our notes so later down the road we have proof of our work. We use this not only to cover ourselves but also the owners of our projects.

We use Procore to manage our Projects as a General Contractor. We use it for submittals, change orders, daily reports, timecards, billing, and other Project Management tasks. Procore is a good tool but we do not use it enough to really maximize it's potential. One shortfall is the inability to use the financial piece because it doesn't support our custom accounting software.
  • Stores pictures.
  • Billing.
  • Submittal logs.
  • Stop changing everything. If it's not broke don't fix it!
  • Annual fees are too high.
  • Builders club was cool but now it stinks!
Not well suited for the small contractor or subcontractor because of the price.

  • Procore needs more reporting between tools.

We use Procore to collaborate internally between Architecture and Construction as well as with our external partners including engineers and trades. Our team has found having the latest drawings at their fingertips on site digitally is a huge asset. They also find the Deficiency List tool valuable since all the information for an item is linked, can be sent out to the applicable parties and makes tracking resolution easy. One of our first tools was the Deficiency List (Punch List) because it is a quick win with all of its benefits (including the automated reminder if someone has not met a deadline).
  • Tracking & assigning observations.
  • Tracking and assigning deficiencies.
  • Drawings and documents at your fingertips on site.
  • Issuing and dealing with RFIs.
  • Documents saved in the Job Template do not carry into new jobs.
  • For a year and half we had an excellent Success Manager that had a call with us a few times a year - that really helped us move along - but that has fallen off.
  • You cannot assign tasks to people in "Meetings" where they see it as a task or are reminded of it.
Procore is an amazing tool and I highly recommend it. There is so much functionality, the support is great and they are always working on taking it to the next level. It really allows construction to utilize advanced technology while also making it easy to learn and get wins right off the bat (which makes it easier to encourage adoption).

Procore has helped us reduce our need for spreadsheets, documents and other software. It has allowed our field team to collaborate more easily with our office, as well as provided us with workflows that make sure the right people are approving the items that they need to be. Also the integrations with other software we do use helps greatly.
  • Workflow.
  • Custom solutions.
  • Budgets.
If you're in construction, then Procore is a must. With their continued development and integrations, it can suit companies of all sizes. As far as a scenario where Procore would not be beneficial, that would likely be for a company that is not in construction. I have yet to meet anyone that sued Procore and then moved away from it.

Procore is the closest thing to a single-platform solution, that currently exists for construction management. It's easy to manage submittals, RFIs, drawings, specs, QA/QC, project financials etc. all in one place and linked together, rather than several fragmented tools. Integration with accounting software is a strong value-add, to use this PM platform to get insights into financial health of projects, in near real-time. That said, there are many areas where individual tools within the product could be drastically improved for real-world usability.
  • Support team - outstanding.
  • Mobile app.
  • Constant improvement.
  • Payment applications and financials management for GMP or cost-plus contracts.
  • Drawings navigation; can't click once and move to specific areas, can't 'tab across' several plans that are needed to work from.
  • Inability to edit Trades- a key data field within most tools.
  • Integration between tools- sometimes can't create reports that pull data from different tools within the system (ex: budget and change management).
  • Needless double work if using on a project where owner, GC, and trade contractors all use Procore- there's no way to link identical data so it 'persists' between all systems; you need to enter it all individually- a huge waste.
  • Cost of the product overall- keeps increasing, and those of us that were 'grandfathered' 5-6 years ago (purchased all tools), are now made to pay a-la-carte for new-release tools and features. Examples include Field Productivity, BIM tools, and Data Analytics. The analytics at least should be included, since cross-tool reporting is not very good. Procore needs to get a handle on cost increases, versus the product quality and value-realized...
Well suited for:
  • Contractors that currently don't have a digital system for managing project info.
  • Contractors that currently have digital systems that are fragmented, and wish to consolidate.
  • Contractors that value mobile capabilities, and integrations with other specialty software tools.

Not suited for:
  • Contractors who do mostly GMP contracts.
  • Cannot use Procore to get paid on these projects (the whole point of business).
  • Anyone especially price-sensitive for software, or anyone who won't put the additional time/resources/training in to get appropriate value for the money spent.

Mortenson is a General Contracts that manages projects of all sizes for commercial, energy and infrastructure projects. We leverage Procore for all of our project management and QA/QC tracking. Using Procore has allowed for time savings with the RFIs and submittal processes. The mobile tools allow our team members and trade partners access to all project information while in the field saving time and cost of having to go find the information at a computer or in our job trailers.
  • Drawing Management - web and mobile having drawings at your fingertips in the field.
  • Trade Partner Collaboration - sending and receiving day-to-day communication with our trade partners and getting the information faster.
  • Mobile tools - system is easy to learn and access and allows everyone to be part of a project.
  • Construction specifications and markups is missing from the tool.
  • Ability to incorporate our business workflows into the existing tools without paying for customization.
  • Better permission structure for tools and ability to customize the permissions in greater detail.
Procore is a great tool for our company. Its mobile functionality allows everyone to get the information they need while out in the field and not have to track something down. It's easy to use and has flexibility in implementing what is needed. Procore's toolset allows for greater collaboration of everyone on the project team from the owner, design team, general contractor and all the specialty contractors.

We use Procore as our primary project management tool. All contract documents, submittals, RFI's, Drawings, Daily Reports, Safety Documents are managed through Procore. Additionally, we use the Documents tool to provide a platform for all project participants to access and upload documents. As project administration, responsible for document control and contract documents, Procore has made a world of difference inefficiency.
  • Contracts and change orders - distributing, tracking and storing.
  • Drawing tool - latest and greatest drawings are always on top.
  • Reporting tool can provide all manner of reports from productivity to financial.
  • The release rate of new tools and information is difficult to keep up with. We could use a full-time Procore administrator who just trains and keeps up on the latest functions.
  • Making edits to contract documents - specifically change orders is very cumbersome when you use the change event tool.
Procore is a great tool for keeping the entire team - Clients, designers, constructors, subcontractors all on one page. It is an incredible tool for collaborative work with the capability to include all players at appropriate levels.

We use Procore for all our big construction projects. This is a simple and fast way to submit/track/review/comment on Submittals, ask and comment on RFIs, and distribute Site Instructions. We also load shop drawings and the specifications. All this makes it easy for subcontractors, Clients, Consultants, PM, Superintendent, Forman,... to access the most up-to-date information.
  • Submittals.
  • Accessing drawings.
  • Accessing specifications.
  • RFIs.
  • Lack of consistency between information fields. For example some of the dropdowns sort by the first name, some sort by the last name.
  • Sometimes it is hard to get "buy-in" from Consultants, Sub trades, etc...
Procore is excellent for submitting submittals for review and approval by the client, owner, or consultant. The reviewer(s) and the people on the distribution list get an email when a submittal has been created. In Procore, the reviewer(s) comments and can include an attachment. They hit save and I receive an email that they have commented and now the ball is in my court. I close and distribute to the appropriate people. These submittals are what I use to make the O&M Manual at the end of the job.

We use Procore to perform the administrative management of our projects. This projects are generally for commercial industrial warehouse buildings. Procore helps us to collect essential data about the project. It also allows us to collaborate with our project partners so that we can share critical data on the project.
  • We can easily upload project photos from anywhere in the field.
  • We can invite our subcontractors to the project so that they can view and upload data into the project, which keeps everyone on the project up-to-date.
  • The Safety module allows us to collect and monitor COVID requirements for each project.
  • Procore could enhance the mobile application so that information can be updated on the project level Admin page.
  • Procore could enhance the API to allow for more data to be integrated from other systems.
Procore allows all of our team members to access project data. With the use of the Permissions module we can expand or limit access for each team member. Our Marketing associates even access the project to collect progress photos for use in marketing materials that can be sent to project owners or brokers in cases where we have a speculative building.

We utilize Procore on all our vertical / building construction projects within the company. With utilizing Procore it helps consolidate all our project information in one place that is easily sharable, searchable, and accessible for the project team. The initial purchase decision was to find a platform that could facilitate keeping all the information in a central location rather than over multiple platforms / locations as previous. Procore helped to solve this is on a day-to-day workflow at the project level by consolidating and organizing all the project information to make is easier to find. This help tremendously in cutting down time spent searching for the information and put more focus back to constructing the project rather than document finding.
  • Consolidates project information in one central location.
  • Makes project information easily searchable.
  • Cuts down on time sending information to subcontractors / vendors when they can look up on the platform by themselves.
  • Helps in tracking day-to-day tasks easier (i.e. RFI's, submittals, etc.).
  • Integration with the project scheduling could be improved.
Procore is well suited for pretty much any building construction project that has lots of project documents. Its helps in organizing all the project documents and making sure the most up to date set of plans / specifications are being utilized for construction. There is less confusion on if you are using the current drawing revision or previous. We have found it is less appropriate for projects that are more of a heavy highway / civil nature due to the fact that the plans are more linear in nature and heavy in underground utilities.

  • Reports.

  • Integrations.
  • I think there needs to be consistency with titles from tool to tool and that consistency needs to cross over to reporting. Occasionally the title will be called one thing in the tool and another in the reports.
Procore is fantastic for real time reporting and changes to the budget. As well as sharing information from the office to the field. Sometimes the reporting feature doesn't give you exactly what is needed - it can kind of be clunky.

Managing multiple projects for multiple different general contractors at many different locations, Procore gives us one central hub to be the source of truth. Pushing drawings, RFIs, change management, and many other tasks through one cloud-based platform keeps us agile. Procore's mobile app also allows for the field teams to stay up to day with the latest documents and even allows the team to view the 3d model without leaving the app.

Procore offers up a fantastic drawing management tool expanding to RFIs and change management. As project drawing packages become are less and less complete at the time of construction a tool that can handle all of the updates is key. • Ease of use.
  • Document control management.
  • RFI & Submittal Tools more integrated, seeing the same functions within both tools, especially with the use of contractor submission, RFIs can be started by the contractor, then go to the RFI manager for review and processing, this should be available in the same sense with the Submittals tool, where right now its a little too open for subs to enter their data and it bypass the submittal manager.
  • Naming conventions of pictures, when utilizing the photos tool within the Procore App, the name of the file is what the phone prepopulates, this should be easily updated, or an option to name it based on the description or date. When it comes to the end of the project and the administrator extracts the photos for the owners, it would make it a lot nicer of a presentation to have this function be a little more cohesive.
Procore is a great tool to implement with the project inception, its a data center of information and the closeout is easier with the use of Procore Extract. Procore keeps everything at a central location so there is no more digging to find what you are looking for. The review process for Submittals & RFIs is great and helps keep everyone on track with reminders when the due date is nearing or overdue. Ultimately this is a great 'virtual assistant' to any project.

We are the Architects and Engineers of facilities built for Education, Government, and Health. Procore keeps all the project information in one place with easy to understand and navigate processes and procedures.
  • Submittal management.
  • RFI management.
  • Team participant information.
  • Project details.
  • I think Procore's only limitations are its users' limited knowledge, but that is easily remedied with a little curiosity and effort.
Procore is by far the easiest and most user friendly project management software on the market.

As a Project Manager for a Sitework Contractor, I have used a wide variety of project management programs. By far, Procore is the easiest to use and provides the ability to manage multiple parts of a project. From contracting to submittals, RFI's to plan updates and RFQ, to the management of daily and project closeout, you can find it all in Procore. I find that having the information at everyone's finger tips ensures that everyone is on the same page in building a great project.
  • Submittal.
  • Invoicing.
  • Punchlists.
  • Lien waivers.
  • "DocuSign" ability.
I think that Procore is well suited for purchase by a GC and then utilized by subcontractors on projects. As a specialty subcontractor though, I can not select Procore for my customer and so I am required to use the program they designate and having Procore as a specialty contractor would create double work on some projects.
