Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

We have benefited from the enhanced collaboration that Procore enables. All stakeholders have benefited by having one place to look for all project related documents and collateral. Procore has enabled us to keep each stakeholder accountable with the ball-in-court feature. Now everyone knows who needs to do what, and this has helped prevent issues from slipping through the cracks.

This is one of the main benefits of Procore. This cloud-based access and real-time updating are invaluable for a construction project. For each of the project, stakeholders having access to this information at the touch of a button is priceless. This is especially true in the field with the use of the mobile app on a tablet.

While these capabilities are wonderful in theory, getting our subcontractors and owners to use Procore is wholly impractical. You can't expect other companies to follow suit and use a software that's unfamiliar to them, especially one that's more complicated than their current processes. As with any other program, it's only as good as the information you put in it. Procore would be ideal if everyone you work with is on board and trained in the program, but that's a very tall order.

I think this is the main feature of Procore. You can quickly have all your team, associates, client, subcontractor, and people in the field connected "live". For your office team you will need to [set aside] a couple of days or a week to focus on the tutorial to obtain the free certifications online and with the customer service they can solve any doubt about the usage. So specifically we took one week for an in-house training and that quickly we get all the office up and running with the system. So it is amazing that in that short period of time you can set an office to work with a new tool and manage the project construction. It only will require a good connection in order to upload all the data seamlessly.

There are clear benefits in using Procore. The clients can approve change orders immediately, and keep track on the differences that may occur on the original budget. Photograph record can help on reviewing advances, correction issues, problems on site, etc. Blueprints can be corrected directly on the cloud, which allows the process on site to be corrected immediately.

Procore allows streamlined collaboration between all stakeholders.

It's great because the subcontractors no longer have to wait for us, the main contractor, to issue information as they have the power and the access to review the response from the consultant. This speeds up processes and allows all to benefit from the system.

The cloud-based access has been great for being able to access documents in the field and office. It helps ensure that we are looking at the same thing and it is the latest version. Pictures can be automatically uploaded for all to see.

  • We access Procore documentation in both the office and in the field daily. It has expedited reporting and evaluation.
  • We have many team members that evaluate project documents simultaneously from a variety of locations.

As previously mentioned, the fact that all members of the construction team can have access to one point has been very important and valuable. It is very beneficial to have unlimited users be able to access a single project and the fact that there is controllable restrictions is key. For example, on most projects, it is not the owner's business how much we bought out a line item for with a subcontractor. If our bid had $50,000 and we saved money by buying out that item for $48,000. You can restrict what each person is able to see and its not their business that we saved $2,000 during buy-out. But Procore still allows us to manage those subcontractors in the same place as the full project set of info.

As a subcontractor to a GC this functionality requires adoptence by the GC which is very unlikely as they prefer seeing things the way they want and using the softwares they use. This functionality therefore doesn't really aid our organization a whole lot.

It is very easy to share the information, it has automatic distribution if setup correctly. If there is an internet connection, any party can do their job like approve submittals, response RFIs, check plans, specs, etc. File sharing is also powerful (any size) but it is not as clean as a simple link email so sometimes it gets people confused.

I have definitely benefited from these capabilities. I was on projects in the past with thousands of submittals and Procore saved me so much time generating these reports and tracking the status of each individual submittal. Once uploaded, I could also send to anyone on the project, if they were in the directory, any document in Procore.

This is a feature that has benefited our company tremendously. We are spread out among many job sites, and within the job sites, the various stakeholders often do not meet more than twice a month. Giving access to all of the stakeholders, including our subcontractors eliminates the excuses of people not having access to documents or correspondence for a project.

The subcontractors and architect are using the submittals, RFI and drawings modules for collaborative work. Procore does not work nearly as well as Bluebeam Studio for real time collaboration on design development and page turn review and markups.
