It was being used by the design department for everyday work. Their projects were being done slowly, so they hired a project manager, who preferred to use Planview Projectplace. We have been supporting the product and assigning licenses. Only English is the language for the software, and it is being used only in one location.

The main problem it has been addressing is the communication between team members and work prioritization. Instead of the work being sent to them by email, they are now planning the most important tasks ahead.
  • Demand management
  • Reporting
  • Security
  • User management
Cons
  • Reporting
  • Integrations (with Salesforce)
  • Program/portfolio management
  • Ticketing
It is best suited for smaller teams that want to organize their work into projects. I now realize why the new project manager for the team chose this software over others. It allows for collaboration and work prioritization. Time management has improved significantly, and its UI is quite easy to understand for the users that don't spend a lot of time on software. Training new users in the team is also quite easy, and it gets coworkers out of their emails to focus on projects.

For teams that need to deliver projects urgently because of current events, the software works especially well. It allows concentration on a specific topic as well as teamwork, where many different individuals need to contribute in a short period of time.

Good application with easy to use features. Limits the use of multiple applications.

ProjectPlace is used by a European consortium involving several companies and departments. We mainly use the document storage (with a great use of the versioning and sharing functionalities) and the online meeting feature. For some projects, the plan view and cards are used as well. All is done in English.
  • The file management is well thought and eases the process of having shared documents, with clear versionning, and possibilities to lock a document.
  • Scheduling an online meeting is easy, with a straightforward process for users connecting to it.
Cons
  • The online meeting software could have more advanced features (e.g. pausing the screen without impact on other participants).
  • It is possible to restrict the folder access to a gourp of users. Still this system is not very flexible (e.g. many steps in order to create a new folder which is accessible to only one group).
  • The mobile app has significantly less features than the web interface.
ProjectPlace is of great support when working with teams not physically in the same location or in the same firm. In the case of strong and clear project management approach, it provides the main tools required. Those tools are usually easy to master for users and condensed in a clear interface. There are still some crashes now and then, and the lower compatibility of MACs could be a problem.

We use Projectplace for most of our projects within our organization, across all business areas. One big reason is that it is really easy to connect people from different organizations to a common workplace, without having to create accounts, install third party solutions etc. An important factor is also that Projectplace is easy to understand, so the learning curve is not steep.
  • Easy to connect people.
  • Easy to learn.
  • Continually evolving.
  • Possibility to create different project templates.
Cons
  • Possibility to select when the "update status" email will be sent.
  • Better/clearer support for SCRUM.
  • Ability to archive (and thus hide) finished cards on a board.
I can't find a scenario where you can't use Projectplace for collaborative work.

Easy to use roadmapping tool that we were quickly able to deploy within our governance, change management, and Agile teams. Extremely user-friendly and intuitive to utilize.
  • Easy to use without detailed training
  • Tracking plans
  • Creating tasks / cards - like a kanban board
Cons
  • Ability to delete the activities and cards faster by highlighting item to delete quicker
-Roadmapping
-Project planning
-Sharing project schedule with project stakeholders with a URL

Awesome, easy to use project tool with a clean interface.

Projectplace works well in our organization. Right now it's only used by our project department ≈ 4 individuals, but we're looking to expand the usage with Zapier integration and hope to be able to involve Salesforce personnel. We're located in Sweden and UK right now, but since we're growing we are looking to be global within a few years, and hopefully, Projectplace will fit by that time. We're using Projectplace with Swedish and English primarily.
  • We love the fact that we can visualise a normal GANTT chart. This makes it easy for us to show the project timeline to our customers.
  • Its easy to use. The UX and simplicity makes projectplace easy to understand and use.
  • We find the possibility to involve and assign tasks within a project to different resources particularly attractive. Especially when you can combine the GANTT project map with the simplicity of Kanban cards.
Cons
  • We use templates a lot. Almost exclusively. Right now we want to be able to assign tasks to specific people automatically when you create the project. This would improve our work a lot.
  • We don't like the visual [aspect] of the public project page (visible by link). It looks really awful compared to the rest of your platform. We would however really want to use it if it was improved.
Since you can run both a SCRUM based project as well as a standard GANTT project, projectplace works well with software development as well as business projects. We've tried it with marketing efforts, but it hasn't been a success.
