I use TTrimble ProjectSight (Prolog) for a project in which I am doing construction administration for. The contractor that i am working with chose to use this product for organizing RFIs, submittals, construction documents and others. I use this on a weekly basis, checking any outstanding RFIs or submittals that I need to address. The architect, contractors and other trades use this product as well.
  • Keeps log of most recent CD documents
  • Allows marking up of PDFs
  • Notifies you if you have an outstanding item
  • It is not super clear which party needs to respond to clear out the RFI
  • Make it clearer on where PDFs are officially submitted
  • Allow users to tag others in the comment section
I would probably recommend Trimble ProjectSight (Prolog) over Procore, as it is an easier user interface and typically avoids any problems with the users. I would say that it does take some getting used to, but once you are used to it it is pretty easy to use. This would be good for a residential home in construction.

  • This is not applicable to my use of Trimble ProjectSight (Prolog)
I have only used Procore otherwise, and from what I remember Procore does not have as many features in terms of keeping track of CD documents, and organizing RFI's like Trimble does. I think overall Trimble ProjectSight (Prolog) is a better product, and if it was up to me I would pick Trimble ProjectSight (Prolog) over Procore.

Tried it for a short time for project management. We are primarily a structural steel fabricator and found that it is not as usefull for our needs as anticipated. This is more for general contractors and would be usefull for coordinating with multiple subcontractors and large projects. We are still looking for something that would suit our needs in a better capacity.
  • budget tracking
  • change order status and tracking
  • financial tracking/payment tracking
  • speed. Some items take a bit long to bring up.
  • more direct use for individual specifications
Trimble ProjectSight (Prolog) is VERY usefull in a general contractor role. It has all the features, tracking, and financial coordination necessary for a general contractor. However, it is not beneficial for single spec use without the general contractor using this same software. We are primarily a structural steel fabricator and find it too combersome and over-powered for our use.
  • scheduling
  • financial tracking
  • submittal tracking

  • did not purchase at this time. Looking for something better suited to our needs
Trimble ProjectSight (Prolog) is very well suited for general contractors and large projects. Procore is better suited to individual specification use.

My company used prolog to track the progress of projects; using this for distributing information to subs, doing change orders and financial obligations. It is a helpful tool to have.
  • Change orders: great way to send and document official communications to subs and clients.
  • Drawings: always good to have drawings and info readily available.
  • A lot of steps, tad confusing
  • Very in-depth, not necessarily a con, but requires a lot of information
  • Well suited: distributing information and collecting and keeping data
  • Less suited: quickly trying to process something or get info to subs

  • Positive: kept jobs running smoothly, awesome tool to track and oversee projects
  • Negative: not much really, good tool, just very in-depth with information that is needed to fill in documentation
Procore is what I currently use. It is good, they are both efficient and very good products. They both have their flaws, but they do what they are there to do and in a smart manner. Great way to effectively distribute and have all information readily available in your hand at all times.
