Punchh offers a range of use cases that enhance businesses' customer experiences and enable data-driven decision-making. Customers can leverage the platform to set up continuous email systems, sending personalized welcome emails to new customers and improving their onboarding experience. This functionality helps businesses establish a strong connection with their customers from the very beginning. Additionally, Punchh empowers businesses with a better understanding of their core guest behavior through its comprehensive loyalty programs, email CRM, and loyalty management solutions. By analyzing guest data, businesses can make informed decisions to improve customer satisfaction and optimize their operations.

Another key use case of Punchh is providing businesses with an all-in-one solution for their loyalty programs, email CRM, and loyalty management needs. With the platform's app capabilities, customers can receive notifications, coupons, promos, and make purchases conveniently. This integration streamlines the customer journey and makes it easier for businesses to reward and track guest usage effectively. Moreover, Punchh helps replace outdated methods like Fishbowl, allowing businesses to gain deeper insights into their guests' preferences and behaviors. By leveraging Punchh as their primary rewards system and central CRM, businesses can tailor their offerings to meet individual customer needs.

Furthermore, franchisees benefit from the Punchh platform as it provides them with access to restaurant-level results. This feature enables franchisees to monitor performance metrics closely and make adjustments accordingly. Overall, Punchh serves as a valuable tool for businesses across industries who seek to improve customer satisfaction, implement an innovative app experience, enhance their understanding of guest behavior, and optimize their loyalty programs and CRM strategies. While some users have reported issues with the platform, its wide array of use cases makes it a versatile solution for businesses striving to engage customers effectively and make data-driven decisions.

Varied Marketing Options: Many users have praised Punchh for its variety of options available in one platform, allowing them to send emails, track customers, and gain insights about customer behavior. This feature has made it convenient for multiple marketing channels to be managed in one place.

Integrated Loyalty Functionality: Several reviewers have mentioned that the loyalty functionality in Punchh is a significant improvement. They appreciate being able to house their loyalty program, email CRM, and mobile app all within one platform instead of using separate programs. This integration has eliminated the hassle and cost associated with managing these functions separately.

Bright User Interface Design: The use of bright colors in Punchh's user interface design has been well-received by many users. They appreciate how the most important information is prominently displayed. Additionally, users have highlighted Punchh's strength in reward tracking and fulfillment, stating that they haven't found any other platform that performs better in terms of customer loyalty.

Confusing Organization: Some users have found the organization of emails and templates within the software to be confusing, resulting in difficulties navigating the user experience and explaining things to clients.

Lack of Flexibility in Reporting: Several users have mentioned a lack of flexibility in reporting and functionality for email and text marketing, which has limited their ability to effectively analyze and track campaign performance.

Poor Customer Support: Many users have had negative experiences with customer support, describing it as abysmal. They have expressed frustration with unhelpful account managers, outdated and false information in the support library, blame-shifting instead of problem-solving, code updates without client notification causing operational issues, denial of problems despite evidence provided by IT teams, and a general lack of integrity from the company towards its clients.

We wanted a solution where we could communicate with our guests, but also provide value to them and we were using Fishbowl, which was a very outdated method. Once we updated our POS, we were then able to work with a company that could help us better understand our guests. I am the primary user of Punchh in our organization, however, we provide franchisees with access to the platform to see results at the restaurant level.
  • Create internal/operational efficiencies.
  • Improve customer relations/service.
  • Develops customer loyalty.
  • Look carefully into the integrations, find out exactly what is possible. We launched when we had Monkey Media as our online ordering tool, although it was integrated, we ended up having to move to Olo just because it was such a stronger integration.
  • I would re-think having Facebook as an option to allow registration and signup to our app. This was recommended by Punchh, but we ended up getting so many out of date email addresses in our system that were associated with the Facebook account.
  • One thing we wanted to launch with was a gift card integration, but due to Punchh not being PCI compliant, and due to other technological limitations, that's not something we've been able to bring into our loyalty app, which would be nice to have.
We launched the program quickly and on schedule, Punchh has continued to evolve and enhance to adapt to our changing business needs, importantly developing integrations with other key partners —Olo, PAR Brink POS. I think it's ideal for a brand of our size with under 200 locations, perhaps for a chain of more than 2,000 locations, it could be worth considering building an in-house solution as a potential cost saving.
  • Helped us grow our online ordering channel.
  • Allowed us to message guests in different ways—push notification, in-app messaging
  • Helped us to retain customers and make guests more loyal to our brand.
  • SessionM, LevelUp and now part of Grubhub Enterprise
We were looking for a partner who would help us get a loyalty program and a mobile app launched quickly, Punchh delivered our app on-time, the cost was very competitive and Punchh was being used by similarly sized brands in the restaurant industry. The integrations were in place and Punchh offered the Product functionality and performance we were looking for.
I would also comment that the level of support we receive is excellent, our Punchh customer success manager is like an extension of our Marketing department, a very valuable resource to have. I think this may not be the case with all clients, however, we were very lucky to have a strong CSM to support us.

Punchh Packs a Punch

Punchh is our primary rewards system that we have connected to our restaurant app. It is also being used as our central CRM that houses all of our guest information for people that subscribe to our newsletter and are loyalty app users. It addresses the need to reward and track guest usage throughout the fast-food system we have built.
  • Reward-based App material. Punchh is great platform for reward tracking and fulfillment. I have not found one that does a better job at customer loyalty.
  • User Interface. The backend of Punchh is a mess. It will never take less than an hour to do even simple tasks. There is really a need for improvement with how things are laid out and navigation.
  • Reporting. The reporting backend of Punchh is weak. There is no dashboard past the home screen and you are left combing through CSV files on pretty much everything.
The use of Punchh is best left to organizations that have a real need for loyalty tracking and consumer insights gained from loyalty programs. I would say that it would not make much sense to invest in this platform if you are business with less than 20 stores, it is too robust and too hard to learn.
  • We brought in over $7M from the app use alone in Q1 & Q2 of 2019.
  • It costs a ton to keep up, especially the more modules you subscribe to. Our (not so fancy price tier) price was about $100K for 2019.
The customer success people are not as invested as it seems they should be in their clients' business, at least not for the amount of money the platform costs. I am always looking for best practices to be provided or at least discussed with my AM, and she doesn't ever seem to care about what others are doing in my industry.
