If you are looking for a rapid storage solution for your application then Pure Storage Flashblade is more than suitable option for large organisations. Generally we have found that its performance is robust, stable and secure and has been easily Managed by a small team within our organisation. The solution also offers a search engine functionality which makes it very easy to locate data and update or recover it as and when you need - a much faster solution than other options we have tried. I believe this solution is less suitable for smaller to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) due to the relatively high cost implication that this will have.

It's an expensive solution to pursue, but it's a great long-term investment. Pure Storage FlashBlade is recommended by me for bigger companies and whenever you've to deal with large data storage and management. In the case of smaller companies and data storage, you can go with some other cheaper solutions. If you need centralized data backup and your data is interrupted and not secure, then Pure Storage FlashBlade is the best solution for you.

If data storage, access, and security [are] of the highest priority to your business then Pure Storage FlashBlade is an excellent tool that must be considered. Analytics or sharing that requires the fastest speeds available will benefit from the NVMe solid-state drives they use which are far superior to spinning rust. It is less ideal for those who do not require such time-critical work.

Pure Storage FlashBlade is best for companies that want their data stored and secure. The big storage capacity and cloud integration secure our data and ensure no third-party access without authorization. It provides us a secure data storage services for our objects. Fast and easy to install and easy to use.

Pure Storage Flash Blade is a great all purpose storage usage solution for our company data center and over time a big win over Amazon Web Service S3 in terms of both price as well as performance. Because of price many companies that are looking to have an on premises data lake will need to look at other HDD based systems for a tier 2 data lake that does not require the performance of Pure.

Also, we are currently using Pure Storage FlashBlade to provide high-speed storage for our container environments.
I'd like to expand its use more widely, but with no option to tier out to less performance storage for cold data, we have not been able to expand the footprint of it.

Pure Storage FlashBlade is well suited for medium to large enterprises that need a fast storage solution for their applications. It does not compromise on performance, reliability, security, and most importantly security. It has been used by our team for a couple of years now and we have not faced any issue so far.

Pure Storage FlashBlade is particularly well-suited for organizations whose use cases demand high-speed data storage solutions since Pure Storage FlashBlade handles such operations with ease. With its very efficient algorithms, Pure Storage FlashBlade can make scalability just by simply adding new flashcards to the rack and the rest is taken care of by their algorithms. It may not be suitable for a few due to its high initial owning costs.

Shared file systems are needed in nearly all large environments. most options are considered exotic & many of SAS's customers do not want to run them. Everyone knows NFS, but traditional NFS lacked performance. Pure offers a performant NFS with their FlashBlade

Since implementing FlashBlade into our backup infrastructure, the speed at which the backups complete on a nightly basis has increased tremendously. On the reverse, the time it takes to restore from the FlashBlade is very minimal. Couple the FlashBlade with a FlashArray and the backup and restores are insanely fast. The FlashBlade works well in our scenario as a backup target/ It would not work so well as a standard SAN scenario. While it would be fast, the cost does not make it feasible.

Pure Storage FlashBlade has been really useful in POD designs in our environment because of being very denser and small but providing the same performance and resilience. Its space savings through Dedupe and compression also helped us oversubscribe the array and helped us reduce power and rack usage. FlashBlade being a 1RU panel has helped us be in 1 rack but serve multiple AZ (availability )zones.

It's a very easy system to manage and monitor. The speed and efficiencies have completely stifled our previous issues with the previous system we had in play. Adding blades can be done in minutes, requires no downtime and no maint window. We have had a couple of NFS response issues, which were not founded, so we had to reset the unit.

FlashBlade is well suited to performance NFS applications that require encryption at rest, it is good with metadata and scale-out, it would make a good backup target. Integration requires a bit of work since the infrastructure like LDAP servers, etc. are required since the features are external to the device. Compared to my other arrays like NetApp, Oracle, etc., it lacks features that mean I have to log support calls where I could otherwise reasonably troubleshoot or fix the issue myself. I think this is a Pure Storage design choice that has been taken a little bit too far. In my case, this means it has taken a lot longer for me to be productive with the array. We had to rewrite backup scripts to use REST since that was the only option, etc.

In our situation, the primary use for Pure Storage Flashblade is data protection. We wanted a performant backup target. Most of these options are slow, and data restoration is abysmal. This is not the case with Flashblade.

NFS works great. We use NFS between the Flashblade and our backup environment.

I personally don't care for it as a NAS in a Windows heavy environment. It does support basic Windows SMB, but not well. If IT is well suited for Linux/Unix sysadmin, then Pure Storage Flashblade is highly recommended.

It's not appropriate for storage workloads that need replication to another site, for instance, disaster recovery.
It's also not appropriate for storage processes that rely on cloning and snapshot capability, for instance, database server volume cloning for refreshing data between application environments.
