New to FlashBlade
- FlashBlade is well suited for our research and can provide storage to handle our genome research project.
Follow-up from a happy FlashBlade user
- Pure has greatly narrowed the performance gap between file storage and fiber channel block storage with FlashBlade. Exotic file systems and costly FC fabrics are no longer needed to run performant storage.
- Training is not required for a storage admin who has never touched a Pure array. Everything is where you would expect to find it.
- The speed of restores greatly reduces our RTO which means less downtime.
- Faster backups mean we can back up critical systems more often in smaller predictable windows.
Pure FlashBlade offers speed that is unmatched
- Somewhat peace of mind from ransomware
- Increased speed of restores
- Increased speed of backups
My Pure Storage FlashBlade Review
- Has been very reliable
- Has given us a fast enough storage for us to attempt things that would;t be possible otherwise
Pure Storage FlashBlade Review
- Improved restoration times in our container environmnet
- Improved support process in general
Pure Storage FlashBlade Review
- Really hasn't panned out for us. We needed more second-tier storage that had replication and snapshot and all the normal Pure features--just second tier.
- More siloed architecture.
- Expensive for smaller apps.
- Too early to predict ROI.
Overkill
- Fast restores
- It's allowed us to better manage our usage overall for the Engineering Department.
- We can see through the Dashboard health, capacity, quotas and that allow us to further tweak as needed in the background without a maint window and without end-user interruption.
- We've been able to manage our growth nicely and not just throw HW to a solution. It's allowed us to better manage our computing environment and stretch our investment dollars.
FlashBlade is almost ready
- Well, cost wise, the array is priced favorably against the competition.
- On the downside we have burned a lot of man hours on integration.
- You have to buy external software to do things that are built in to other arrays.
If you want a 'Purely' superior experience!
- Time is money. No one wants to wait for data to move.
- Not a great traditional NAS
- Scalable - this chassis can double in size
- Practically an install and forget appliance
FlashBlade for NFS
- Positive - Ease of use.
- Negative - Lack of SMB support.
FlashBlade: Lots of potential
- The price point and compact footprint worked well for a NAS unit in a co-location data center.
Pure Storage FlasBlade review
- Lack of support for SMB.
Flasharray review of awesomeness
- We were able to consolidate 5 different storage platforms of lesser performance onto a single Flashblade and achieve much, much lower latency and higher throughput.
- We've been able to reduce the amount of training and configuration required to just Pure Flashblade, instead of 5 different vendors and products.
- In addition to our core use cases, Flashblade has capabilities that we are pursuing for some new projects, i.e. analytics data store and the object store features.
Pure Storage Flashblade is easy and expensive
- Fairly expensive initial cost
- Steady maintenance costs makes easy budgting
