We use it as our Business Intelligence tool to help visualize our data to make better business decisions. We can use it to more easily spot trends and discrepancies. Can also trace the data back to the source and see where any issues may arise from. It is easy to use and fairly intuitive. I personally use Qlik Analytics Platform to automate extremely manual time consuming report generation. I work with stake holders, understand the process they take their data through, determine what business answers they are looking for, and then mimic the process in Qlik Analytics Platform. This not only saves time and resources but also allows us to have more live data without needing additional input.

Qlik Analytics Platform has helped us track turnaround time as well as sales volumes. We can display metrics in a multitude of ways and can then slice it up in even more ways by adding filters. It is nice that you can filter down the data by essentially "Qliking" anywhere to find insights. Qlik Analytics Platform has been extremely beneficial in reducing manual reports. We are able to automate numerous reports in addition to setting up alerts, through Nprinting, that will notify users when certain metrics are hit. For example, if our turnaround time exceeds a certain number, we can alert business stakeholders so they can take a closer look. We can also send notifications to sales representatives when their territories are underperforming.

We use Qlik Analytics Platforms to set up reporting on our chatbot interaction.
  • Fast setup of analytics report
  • Easy tweaking of build dashboards
  • Perfect integration with other data software
  • Vast possibilities on setting up dashboards
  • The learning curve could be less steap
  • Very big sets of data are harder to process with the alike software
  • There could be a better role based setup posibilities
If you want to setup analytics dashboards for reporting or simple data analysis then Qlik is your tool of choice.
Complex data structures are handled well, but you’ll need to keep de amount of data on the low side. Integration with other software is possible and easy.

Qlik Analytics Platform is the main reporting and data discovery tool for my company. It is used by the main Strategic and Control departments, for a variety of purposes from monitoring specific KPIs to deep analysis of complex data.
  • Complete tool that meets all the needs of use and analysis
  • Integrates seamlessly with any data source, from the oldest to the new.
  • It allows different levels of complexity of use, from simple consultation to the most advanced analyzes.
  • Certainly, it turns out that implementation and data modeling are sometimes complex.
  • There are still many graphic and representation limits that need complex customizations to be overcome.
Qlik is undoubtedly a perfect tool in a dynamic and constantly evolving situation, when you need detailed information and analysis. it is certainly less suitable in the case of static and standard reporting where it becomes heavy and not very receptive.

As a local government organization, we use Qlik Analytics Platform to serve public-facing dashboards and data reports to residents and service users, alongside our internal Qlik Sense and Qlik View use. We use Qlik Analytics Platform to manage interactive "dashboard" components within public-facing websites, integrating user-driven data analysis with our corporate messages and offers of support to customers. While it's technically a whole-organization product, development and deployment are managed by one team, and most users of the end products are external customers.
  • It's flexible in allowing the development of fully-fledged analysis tools and dashboards, but also smaller "widgets" to embed in our websites to bring stories to life, and enables us to develop things once and then re-use them in different contexts.
  • The development platform and management console are both easy to use, and, with proper data development by our expert developers, can be used by relatively junior colleagues to produce great-looking and very useful products.
  • The way the platform handles a mix of data sources from different APIs and internal data stores is good.
  • We like the visualizations and from a corporate perspective find it easy to develop one-size-fits-all visualizations that present a wide range of data items well in a responsive way.
  • Some of our team feel that the licensing model was really too restrictive for us when we made the purchase and that given the same choice again, we might think twice about jumping in, but because we've already made that initial investment it's worth sticking with it. We don't think we get great value out of it because we only use it for a relatively small number of deployments. With that said, Qlik's licensing model is changing/has changed, so that might not be as much of an issue for new customers.
  • The Qlik Sense engine which powers the visualizations is in constant development, which is good, but in our current installation still lacks some capabilities -- for example, it only recently got the ability to change the thickness of lines in line graphs! The default options look good but more presentational flexibility obviously will help us tailor and align our public offerings to our corporate brand and presentation.
  • I'd really like them to look again at how they segment their product licenses to make the basic tools more appealing to low-complexity/low volume users like our local government setting.
Our best example is our "corporate performance dashboard," which is a website providing an overview of our organization's goals and strategic priorities, interwoven with Qlik elements allowing users to see at a glance how well we're performing, what we're measuring, and slice-and-dice between different service areas, levels of performance, or other themes, as well as seeing trends, comparators, and targets for individual performance measures. The platform allows a really nice interface for users and a nice interweaving of messages and data.

The way we understand the licensing, it's not suitable for handling sensitive data or producing reports for internal audiences only.

We are a big organization with a lot of business domains and departments. Consequently, each domain and each department within have reporting requirements. They have their data mostly on local or shared Excel files. Every time they need a new report, they either carried out this from scratch or ask the DWH/BI team to create a new report/change the existing one. This brings a lot of overhead and inefficiency. In order to automate this process and remove lots of labor, our organization implemented Qlik Analytics Platform where any user can create and manage its reports. Therefore, the whole organization is happily using it now.
  • Reporting
  • Business intelligence
  • It still requires the IT team to setup the reporting page.
  • Authorization can be improved via roles.
Qlik is most appropriate where the business domain is actively accessing reports, and especially when it requires changes/modifications in it. With Qlik, this can be carried out without an IT team because anyone can create their own reports. Qlik is the most appropriated when the data is saved in an SQL server, automating the data retrieval and management even further.
