We use Qlik Sense to sales and purchasing dashboard, mananing the granularaty in sales order, items and clients by day. Daily, our users can to access these datas and analyse the company performance. We have something about 100 people accessing and extracting data to enrich the analysis tha are delivered to providers, clientes, company managers and C-Levels.
  • Extract
  • Transform
  • Load
  • Manage large database
  • Absence of Desktop Tool, in the past we had the Qlik Sense desktop to train people to make dashboards
  • Free Extension to extract data to files like xlsx, txt, csv
  • Best management of logs repository, in sometimes a lot of space in the disk is ocuppied by these files, it would be deleted after a determined time.
It is well suited when we are in a big ETL, in another tool at some moments, it's a hard question. It's less appropriate when we are training colleagues that never used a BI tool, or when structuring a data area, especially because of the missing of a QlikSense Desktop tool for free.

We use Qlik Sense for data reports and inquiries. I use Qlik Sense most often for data visualization.
  • Speed of loading data
  • Accommodation of data formats
  • Accommodation of changes in data structure
  • More styles of maps
  • Allow developer to create their own color theme
  • Allow developer to change font
Qlik Sense does a good job if you need it to share a dataset in your organization. Yet, compared with Tableau, its data visualization is not as beautiful. Not to say it gives little room for developers to be creative.

Qlik Sense has unmatched service, I mostly like the power to show not only what we have filtered, but what we are missing, it shows and unearthing the hidden insights. Qlik associate engine is one of the unparalleled and powerful engines I have used in the domain and has been a great leader in BI/analytics space. I also like how Qlik Automation has been a game changer and we are moving more and more our MS Automation over to Qlik. Overall Qlik Automation experience is very fantastic and brings the support team closer in case of any challenge or inconvenience.
  • Qlik allows us to create a centralized reporting platform with governed security rules that allows visibility into data easily.
  • Unifies all our data sources regardless of our data sources, or traditional databases.
  • I like the intuitive, quick learning curve for analytic and business users.
  • Great associate data model.
  • The only challenge is navigation through Qlik mobile app which is clunky at times and not very smooth. Especially for non-IT.
  • It's also too expensive to scale to hundred - thousands users, it would be fine to have lower license cost.
I like how Qlik is designed in a very easy and powerful look to deploy complex data models when user gave multiple data sources and have to consolidate and integrate in a single data model and generate insights faster. Overall it's a very powerful intuitive and suitable tool for SMBs org who have several business units and different data sources and need to consolidate them together and get quick insights.

What I like the most about this application is that it is really easy to use, it is intuitive, dynamic and very simple to implement, to begin with this is already a great achievement. On the other hand, I like being able to have a central platform that generates the reports, with minimal security rules to prevent unauthorized data manipulation. For me it has been of great help to generate reports from large databases, unify data and criteria and generate analysis, according to this information. I have used it in different organizations in which I have worked, which broadens its scope since it is not limited to one sector, but can be used in any field, for the analysis of any type of data.
  • Flexibility in data recording, from the app, as well as in handling them. Allowing you to view reports quickly and effectively.
  • Easy to generate dynamic graphics according to our needs.
  • It is very easy to use, intuitive, so it does not generate costs in the learning process compared to the tool with collaborators
  • Data analysis in data groups is of great help that allows us to visualize impressive results, however, these tools that are so useful and tremendous to us are not easy to use.
  • Windows are not very friendly or intuitive.
  • The support or customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
For me it has been useful in any scenario, I have used the application in various work areas, with various objects of analysis, from the food sector to biotechnology and it has been very useful in all of them. I think that one of its strengths is how versatile it can be, since it is not limited to offering data analysis of a specific sector. It is an excellent application for data analysis and reporting of any type of information!

Qlik Sense is one of the visualization tools that sit on top of the global data lake in our company. We are dealing with so many data sources and needed a decent BI tool to provide an opportunity for the end user to have an at-a-glance summary of the key performance indicators at their fingertips.
  • Good workspace environment
  • Decent filtering capability on visualization
  • In memory data management
  • Self service analytics
  • Variety of visualization types
  • Support more fonts
  • Better chart label enhancements
The integration of Qlik Sense into our Azure data lake has been successful. It's easy to use and the minimal learning curve is a big plus for business users. I would like to mention the visualization and customization capability of Qlik Sense should be improved.

We accumulate data concerning our service provision via a system that stores data in a Postgresql DB. We use Qlik Sense to aggregate and analyse the data to establish metrics and track outcomes for our services. We use analytics to create a wide range of measures and annual outcomes generation, and ad hoc queries.
  • Flexible data visualisations
  • Easy to manipulate to provide for alternative scenario modeling
  • Good for exporting query results eg to Excel for further analysis
  • I would like to see the authentication for access to the software improve (to be more flexible)
  • It would be good sometimes to get more context-sensitive hints and tips to do with data modeling
  • Better tuition on good practice use of the software for non DB specialists
You have large amounts of data, and understanding trends and aspects of that is critical to being able to monitor and improve your organisation's performance. Qlik Sense is ideal for this. You can create easy-to-understand visualisations, which identify issues ("actionable insights") or act as useful aids to business decision-making. For small datasets, held locally, you might find the investment in learning is not necessary if something like Excel or another tool can do the job.

Qlik Sense (on premise server) is currently used by two functional areas of the company. The commercial team comprises the primary user group followed by some of the operations and supply chain team members. Qlik Sense enables the linking of data from disparate legacy systems into coherent dashboards and visualizations.
  • Combines data from disparate systems
  • Simple user interface
  • Good visibility to applied filters
  • Features are not the same on-prem and cloud
  • Frequent problems with on-prem CPU pegging to 100%
  • Expensive license structure
Qlik Sense is well suited to combining data from disparate systems. It does require some level of coding to take full advantage of its powerful features. The drag and drop interface does not open up all the possibilities. The internal scripting language of Qlik resembles some parts of SQL. Qlik does enable the use of pure SQL in the select statements in the loading scripts.

Very robust and user friendly. Strong tools for data analysis. Helpful in data democratization with tools like data catelog. Will is able to handle large amount of data with out any processing lag. Even complex data models with require heavy calculations are handled quickly by Qlik. The learning curve for new users is not steap.
  • Large data processing.
  • Easily build data models.
  • Excellent visualization tools.
  • User friendly.
  • Better AI assistant.
  • Version control.
When you need to process and visualize large amount of data from multiple data sources, Qlik is the best in business. User friendly and easy to integrate, this helps when your team may not the the most technically sophisticated. Qlik helps the orgay to become more data driven which helps effective decision making.

Qlik Sense is highly used in my organization as it helps our users to derive insights from the data accurately. The visualization objects in Qlik Sense are really good and interactive and help my users to get an understanding of the whole story behind the data. Unlike query-based BI tools, the associative model of Qlik Sense has helped them a lot in deriving insights and metrics for the business.
  • Qlik Associative Model
  • Accurately manages large volume of data in less time
  • Qlik Sense uses in-memory data model
  • Security feature of Qlik Sense is also good
  • Qlik Sense is a really powerful tool and it's quite easy to use. The only thing I can think of is increasing the breadth of the sheet size so that more objects can be added in a row so that the report doesn't grow in length.
  • Qlik Nprinting can be integrated with Qlik Sense so that developers can easily create the reports in one interface
Qlik Sense is a self-service tool. So in scenarios where users are only thinking of using one tabular report created out of one table, then I think Qlik Sense isn't needed. The modeling of Qlik Sense is robust and is well suited in cases where there is a large volume of data from multiple sources.

Qlik Sense is being used at our organization as a single self-service business intelligence and reporting solution across all our geographical locations worldwide. Users in each department are served with both standard and customized analytical solutions that are published to their individual streams. Ad-hoc reports are churned out using the NPrinting ad-on of Qlik Sense. Our business analytics and reporting team manage the entire multi-server enterprise Qlik Sense environment from a central location.

Most of our business problems were the availability of accurate data and speedy access to standard reports. Qlik Sense has helped achieve these goals.
  • Intuitive and easy to use dashboards.
  • Pixel perfect reports.
  • Scalable analytics.
  • Centralized management of user access.
  • Advanced analytical features require third party extensions.
  • Building own extensions is not easy.
  • Multi-developer environment is not well supported.
  • Version control is missing.
Qlik Sense offers an end-to-end solution that scales well. I would advise any organization whether small or large to give it a try. The delivery of output is browser-based and so is the development. This makes its platform independent as far as users are concerned, and the result is a seamless and scalable solution. Also advantageous is the ability to develop, control, and maintain from the stage of data ingestion up to the front end. To those companies where one is expected to build their own dashboards on the go, Qlik Sense can have a steep learning curve.

Qlik Sense Enterprise is used by two divisions of our corporation and is used by the majority of the departments within those organizational entities and in a very self-empowered way.
We have other business intelligence applications (from other vendors) as well that allow MS Excel Add-in functionality to review enterprise performance results, but for visualizations and dashboards, we selected Qlik Sense as the preferred tool in that domain.
We segregate the creation of enterprise quality transactional system sources of data so that the QVD files (i.e. data warehouse) is one layer managed by IT Support staff (including myself) but once the datasets of the correct data quality are made available as QVD files then the business staff in any of the departments has the access to build visualizations and dashboards from the data contained in those files in any way they see fit (including the blending of datasets as appropriate with either other enterprise-quality data or with their own spreadsheets).
  • Qlik Sense reports the data from the QVD files really well so the end-user experience is always optimum. Hardly any wait time is ever noticed at all which is magnificent compared to some other products in this space.
  • The fact that Qlik Sense is also already fully mobile device-ready is a big bonus. Other applications have to have different variations either declared upfront or at least tested but Qlik Sense works really well whether via the designated proprietary Qlik Sense Mobile App (from the App store) or just in a standard browser like Safari.
  • Data ingestion times are really optimum too since millions of records can be added to a QVD file in only a few minutes. This helps our organization with optimizing the overnight loading window.
  • The background loading tasks scheduling is also user-friendly and robust with good error logging and failure/success monitoring available.
  • We use SAP for transactions and SAP BI for data warehousing so it is very useful to also use Qlik Sense along with the proprietary Qlik Sense SAP Connector so that data can be retrieved as datasets from BW Query results. This helps leverage all our investment in the BW modeling including the full SAP BW query catalog when ingesting data into the QVD files. At the same time, the SQL connector can retrieve data from our SAP HANA database with ease too.
  • The ability to develop on the iPad is also a bonus that is often not available in other tools in this domain.
  • The security modeling is relatively easy to maintain and integrates well with our Azure identity management system. This all makes user management tasks very seamless and robust, ensuring that only those that really need access to the Qlik Sense system are granted hat access and if they leave their access is quickly revoked.
  • The PDF printing of dashboards is part of a secondary product called NPrinting and we did not choose to additionally purchase this product. This means that broadcasting the results of a dashboard (in the enterprise on-premise product) is not really available to us, but I guess that was the trade-off. It would be great if that functionality was at some point built into the design/licensing of the main Qlik Sense Enterprise product.
  • The fact that all loading is via proprietary syntax scripting is a little cumbersome and has a reasonably high learning curve. SQL is the standard and while some SQL statements can be used in the data ingestion process it is also then the mix of two syntaxes in one script.
  • Some of the design concepts (such as table concatenation) in the scripting syntax are a little non-intuitive. I prefer to not have things happening in an automated way (others may disagree since it means less coding rather than more) but it just adds to the learning curve when things are automatically occurring in the background (which might come as unexpected outcomes to a developer that is new to the Qlik Sense product).
The Qlik Sense system is really well suited to all businesses of varying sizes and to all user types (i.e. basic, power user, advanced user, and consultant). Data is an asset to any business, so to use Qlik Sense to leverage that asset and to have a robust and user-friendly environment to develop new analytics artifacts in is a real bonus.
Basically, if you can afford the product then it is probably worth taking a good look at whether it is a best-practice product that you want to opt for. Perhaps the Cloud-hosted option is the best one to go for since that is the way of the future and a lot of new functionality is released on the Enterprise Cloud edition first. Also, that way you are not looking at the hosting costs and server management such as version upgrades in the same way.

Qlik Sense is being used across [the] department and across [the] company. We have implemented Qlik view before.
The problem we face when implementing Qlik Sense compared to Qlik View is sometimes with the display on mobile is too big and how should we explain it to the user. For example we used KPI, only 2 KPI almost fills the cellphone screen for the Qlik Sense version in February.
  • Augmented Intelligence
  • Ease of use
  • Associative Engine
  • For Statisctic
  • Machine Learning
  • Better improvement display on mobile
  • Animation
Qlik Sense is good to use if we want to do data discovery supported by associative engine, it is very easy to do. We can know our data better with Qlik.
If we want to monitor our KPI we can do it well in Qlik Sense.

Case for improvement: If we want do further analysis using statistical method, we want [to] do it in one platform, Qlik Sense right now doesn't support this scenario.
Or if we want [to] do the data animation smoothly, Qlik Sense still needs improvement in this area.

I have [had] a great experience using Qlik Sense. There is a chance of converting all of our existing Cognos Reports to some new technology, hence [why] we chose Qlik Sense. It was an amazing experience using its vast visualization stack & also our end users were very much satisfied using Qlik Sense.
  • Advanced Visualization stack
  • ETL performance is very good within Qlik Sense
  • Self service & In- memory
  • Learning it is a bit easy
  • Export features should be enhanced so that [there is] no need of using N-Printing separately
  • For novice users it's a bit difficult to use it
For larger data sets it is suitable.

Qlik Sense is being used company-wide to do reporting for various business units, as well as centrally. Depending on the department, it can be used for management level only reporting, or all the way down to an individual-contributor level view of a certain persons metrics or coverage. The biggest problem it helps address is in visualizing and transforming data, then putting it in a format and tool that can be easily accessed by various people/groups/etc.
  • It has a very robust back end, which allows for very complex data transformation.
  • The system of filtering within the app is extremely powerful.
  • The data model editor and viewer is very user friendly for those not experienced in scripting.
  • The system by which the various streams and apps is very rigid; they need to introduce the ability to move things around, add sub-folders, etc. It gets cluttered very quickly when you have a lot of apps.
  • There are often seemingly basic functionality on charts and tables etc. that just can't be done; an example would be having multiple measures on a chart with multiple dimensions. Right now you can only have one measure if you have more than one dimension. There are lots of other examples like this..
  • Sometimes basic things are very inflexible and needlessly complicated; an example being changing the colors of a dimension in a chart. Right now you either have to use the color scheme the system sets, or write a formula to define the color explicitly for every dimension value. There should be some middle ground where you can have them apply a color scheme, then chose to edit the scheme they apply visually.
  • One big limitation is using custom measures and dimensions within other measures and dimensions. The ability create a custom (master) dimension is great, but you can only use that as an explicit field, you can't reference that master dimension in a formula anywhere.
Generally I would recommend using this for anyone who needs to do large data reporting or visualization. The learning curve for basic use is very low, and especially for end-users that experience is very good. The scenarios I wouldn't recommend it are if someone has a VERY specific vision for what they want and need really fine-level customization on their visualizations. In that case, I've definitely run into some limitations with getting EXACTLY the view I wanted.

We are using Qlik Sense for Research modeling purposes. It helps us create visualizations for research prospecting purposes. We are able to gather all the data from [our] current database and make it easier for a end user to see and read. It has helped us be part of different fundraising units across campus.
  • Organizes Data
  • Data Visualization
  • Speed
  • Real-time Data Analysis
  • Require Extra Purchases
  • Difficult Application Learning Curve
Very easy to use for end-users, very nice visual representations, perfect for "build-it-your-own", really nice tool for interactive presentations. It is sometime dreadfully slow and awkward [as] it takes a while for the data to initially load. We have had issues with accessibility for users. We have tried to get the entire division access to the program, but due to financial constraints only a few users have access.

It is used internationally and primarily it is used for data visualization. The main functionality I like to use is to easily apply filters and drill down. I use this platform for advanced analytics and for partner meetings. I am now implementing it to manage our innovation portfolio in terms of general overviews, data driven insights and portfolio management.
  • Drill down.
  • Data visualization.
  • Intuitive for user.
  • Non intuitive for developer.
  • Steep learning curve (developer).
  • Issues loading zip codes for map.
Qlik is a great tool for data visualization and intuitive analytics so I would recommend that to any company or user looking to have a better understanding to the how/why of their data rather than just the what, which the data shows. Easy applied filters to apply this insight across your data sets.

It is used for both production and finance analytics and visualization. It utilizes many databases - many are outdated. It has been a perfect replacement for Crystal reports and perfect for bringing data together from a dozen databases. It solves the many deficiencies found in our ERP system and allows us to operate without upgrading our ERP for a little longer.
  • Helps decommission old databases by subsuming the data.
  • Works with a wide variety of different types of DBs.
  • Licensing maintenance can be time consuming.
  • Learning curve is high.
  • Requires more time from IT staff than expected.
It is very well suited for a conglomerate of databases with various vintages.
It is not well suited for end users who are not technically savvy.
It is well suited to replace Crystal reports.

Our entire organization uses Qlik Sense to analyze sales data and to to help us and our customers to better understand their business. I use Qlik an a daily basis. It can help to identify issues such as sales drops due to “out of stock” situations. In addition, Qlik helps to easily pull in meaningful data onto charts and graphs for presentations.
  • Sales data - Qlik Sense can help you understand how a partner is performing globally, or all the way down to the individual store level.
  • Qlik Sense is user friendly - after a few short training modules, you can begin to understand how to use the tool.
  • Qlik Sense is very customizable - it helps you to use data in a way that makes sense for your business.
  • The amount of data that can be pulled from Qlik Sense can we overwhelming - learning how to get what you need and to customize apps for your use takes practice.
  • Qlik data can be hard to figure out, i.e. what date the data you are looking at is from.
  • Currently at my organization, Qlik data downloads go to Excel - we have moved to G-suite, and have to switch back and forth between apps.
Qlik Sense is an excellent tool, and as mentioned is very customizable. Qlik can help you to harness all the raw data that your company uses, and put in a format that is easy to understand and can also be shared easily, either inside or outside your organization. Qlik can be used across the entire organization sales, customer service, data analysis, accounting - it has many uses.

We use QlikSense as a way to summarise data from multiple databases into a dashboard that is easy to use. Prior to the implementation of QlikSense, staff would be constantly asked to generate reports, now we create dashboards, and send the end-user to the dashboards. This has drastically increased the productivity of staff and end-users.
  • Easy to create dashboards
  • Integrate with a variety of different database
  • Extremely powerful
  • Develop visually appealing dashboards
  • Steep learning curve
  • Challenge with running out of licenses
Very powerful to create amazing dashboards. Once the staff was up to speed on developing dashboards, we have been able to create repeatable templates.

Qlik is used to visualize supply chain data, provide KPI's and improve data literacy throughout our company. As a supply chain management company Qlik has enabled us to break away from "tribal knowledge" that is typically siloed by client and provide a holistic view of our our supply chain. Now, when our buyers, expediters and conformers need to make a purchasing decision or follow up with an order they have a wealth of knowledge and experience at their finger tips. The universal search functionality enables users to find a source, extract data and contact suppliers with a few clicks!
  • Visualizing trends over time.
  • Easily work with data from multiple data sources.
  • Build extractable reports or tables.
  • Learning curve with Qlik scripting language.
  • Licensing structure.
  • Confusing overlap between QlikView and Qlik Sense.
Qlik excels in many different areas, in many ways you are only limited by the questions you ask. Some specific use cases include monitoring contract compliance, monitoring pricing of commodities, recognizing trends, rationalizing spend in Supply chain.

Some areas where Qlik would be less appropriate include their automated reporting capabilities. Although the utility is good, the cost of the automation portion is significant.

Initially, Qlik Sense was used in a few departments (the more tech-savvy and quantitative) to help us improve access to our data and help drive evidence-based decision making. We have lots of scattered amounts of data, in lots of types, so Qlik Sense/Qlikview's ability to flexibly connect lots of different types of data was essential.
  • Connect lots of "messy data" together
  • Easy ability to "click" and modify tables to identify patterns
  • Fairly easy learning curve
  • The syntax is ugly, using {< for set expressions, etc.
Qlik Sense is well suited for instances of messy, large datasets. With clean data, Tableau is probably the better (and more popular) option.
