User-friendly, data driven insights

Qlik Sense is being utilised as a data analytics and insights tool across the organisation. It is aimed at making data more accessible to users who are generally not used to querying data in traditional data analysis tools such as SQL and/or SAS. The self service capability allows users to be data driven and use data to support their hypothesis.
  • Speed of data queries and presenting results
  • Highly customisable
  • Front end UI is easy to use
Cons
  • Better integration to share reports/data natively
  • Better scaling options. I find it hard to create a report that's suitable for both laptops and big monitor screens
Qlik Sense is great for data visualisation especially working with big data sets. Patterns, trends and groups can be easily identified natively by Qlik, and then further updated by the user as needed. Processing big data sets through Qlik Sense is also very quick and efficient. Take a pivot table for example, it would take far more internal memory and time if it was done through Excel.

A good user-friendly BI

Qlik Sense is being used mainly for sales and inventory monitoring. The main benefit is visualization and being able to drill down to data. Also, the flexibility to customize and edit each component is very important, this way you don't have to rely on a third party to adjust every change you make.
  • Flexibility
  • Easy to understand interface
  • Fast data calculation
Cons
  • The user rules and roles are not user-friendly
  • Automatic mail reports would be useful
Qlik Sense is best suited for data analysis and exporting out the data after you analyze it, and for dashboards, but it is less suitable for specific data searching - it is more of a widespread view BI.

Used across the whole organization to review business trend and performing comparisons.
  • Visual graphs
  • Drilling in for detail
  • Comparison based on categories
  • Carrying the same selection over multiple dashboards
Cons
  • Pivot expansion should have the option to select which level it expands up to instead of requiring user to click on the "+" sign.
  • More combo chart and graph options
  • Auto correct the label so they do not overlap
It is very useful and handy for data mining and for data access. Perfect tool for analysts. It is great for visual graphs and to assist in reporting. However, it can only export into a single page PDF (limited in size and the number of graphs per page). Since the dashboard can only display graphs and tables, explanations will need to be added separately if required for the report.

Qlik Sense is very flexible and a user-friendly software

We use Qlik Sense as our main reporting tool, to build dashboards, and create reports for all departments.
  • Live dashboards. The user can click and select whatever in the report and all objects of the reports filters. That makes it really easy for the user to analyze the data in the report.
  • Good flexibility in building dimensions and measuring within each report by using Set Analysis.
  • Easy data load. You can get data from whatever data source you have and join them together.
Cons
  • It would be very nice to be able to export and send reports (dashboards) as PDF directly from Qlik Sense and have it scheduled.
  • We tried N-Printing but it was not very user-friendly and way too time-consuming to put together all object from the Qlik Sense app.
  • Autofit columns in tables.
  • Really need to change the licensing structure to have more flexibility and to have more users view reports (apps), without having to pay a way too high fee.
Qlik Sense is well suited for all kind of companies that need to have good reports/dashboards of sales or other daily monitoring.

We use Qlik Sense across most departments in our organization. It brings in data from a variety of sources and displays it in a very user-friendly and intuitive way. It helps us with many day to day tasks, as well as most of the projects we implement, including budgeting and sell out tracking.
  • ETL
  • Data Visualization
  • Filtering
  • Intuitive Use
Cons
  • Ability to input data
  • More integration with R and Python
  • More in house visualizations
Qlik Sense is extremely well suited for analyzing large amounts of data, particularly where sales are concerned. It gives very quickly an overview of your dataset, and where the key parts are.

The main area that Qlik Sense struggles with is where we need users to add context to the data we are seeing. Unfortunately, Qlik Sense doesn't have any way to input data or add public comments at the time of writing.
