Qlik Sense desktop only allows for use on desktop computers, so you can really only share apps between users that have the software installed. The free version does not have security options and has some other compromises. They have step-up versions that come at a cost that provide more robust sharing and security options. For us, this is not something we need based on the data we are using.

As this is a review of Qlik Sense desktop and not Qlik Sense enterprise there was not much to be said about the security aspects. But because even from the free version of Qlik Sense desktop there are no license restrictions.
So this means you are able to share your documents with other users with ease.
This makes it easier for customers to review Qlik Sense or for users to use Qlik Sense at home for their own personal data analysis.

QlikSense has great features and utilities to build dashboard with security for different users example region or department wise, collaboration session to discuss among the team with screenshots of visualization which is thereof swap between application and presentation. Reports are distributed over access point in the web browser or even on phone or tablets.

Qlik Sense seems to have been built with collaboration in mind, in that it allows for annotations and customisation. It has an advanced security mechanism/settings providing granular authorisation to underlying data which is of immense use to financial industry (especially when a Chinese Great Wall kind of separation is needed in investment banks). Providing access to external parties (users outside of your organisation) is an easy call on Qlik Sense, though it asks for additional licensing.

For the Qlik Sense DESKTOP edition, sharing and collaborating is quite limited (after all it is free) - you need to manually send a file to your colleague to save in specific folder (cannot use net/cloud folder) and there are no access control capabilities. Those are available in the Enterprise version and no need to use file sharing (Enterprise version is installed on a server).

Dashboards can be placed on servers to give users access wherever they are as long as they are network connected and if needed robust permissions can be applied to allow specific users to view and manipulate only certain parts of the dashboard that are relevant to them. It is also fully tablet and smartphone compatible for working on the go.

Qlik Sense was designed for ease of use by analysts to create and share their work. It shows this intent in every aspect and design design in the package.

Sharing is also control by users through easy configuration options and name selections.

Qlik Sense creates a collaborative community around data, ensuring that everyone benefits from, and is able to contribute, to the collective wisdom of the organization. This is done with Qlik Sense using streams, collaborative creation, and data storytelling; and can be extended outside of Qlik Sense by exporting to commonly used business tools and formats.

Very easy to distribute with remote members, all is self explanatory for the most part. The platform is limited to the number of people who can access it, but the main issue is when multiple users are in the same app the speed is reduced. It's just something to be mindful about. We had a small group looking at each file and 1/4 of the viewers were remote.

App based approach to sharing and using dashboard app via Hub. Data accessibility can be controlled to lowest data level via section access.
For reporting Qlik Sense needs a separate software Qlik Nprinting to allow creation of reports with MS office , HTML & PDF, and distribution of those reports either via email, pdf and its newsstand.

I use the enterprise server, in my opinion it is easy to use but they still have to improve scheduling and jobs (tasks). There are some bugs. Sometimes something does not work and you need to recharge data; even error messages are difficult to interpret. Streams instead are well made, maybe a little 'simplistic security by the user.

Seamless row, column data security that can be integrated easily with AD/SSO or configured standalone.
The sheer flexibility of the security and user access model is wonderful, but also a challenge for the first time admin.

Access to apps is easily controlled from with in the management console and this is very intuitive. Once an app is published it is instantly available to users based on the security roles. These are easy to maintain and update. From within an app it is simple to snapshot portions to share with other taking them straight to the view which has been shared.

You can share your app in realtime with a link, and users can interact with the app at the same time and see results each are getting. Users can also save the state of their app and send it off to someone to see. They can also make notes and either make them private or public for anyone who has access to the app.
