  • Advanced Visualization stack
  • ETL performance is very good within Qlik Sense
  • Self service & In- memory
  • Learning it is a bit easy
  • Export features should be enhanced so that [there is] no need of using N-Printing separately
  • For novice users it's a bit difficult to use it

  • Creating a data model is extremely easy in Qlik Sense, we just need to import data from the source, [and] Qlik Sense supports all the data sources. So once data is imported, Qlik Sense makes the model automatically by understanding the keys. Then these data models can be viewed from the Qlik Sense model viewer and can change easily if required.
  • Once data import and data model is created, Qlik Sense has the ability to provide very smart charts and data visualization techniques which provides us the very good looking dashboards.
  • Once the dashboards are done, we simply need to import the dashboard from Qlik Sense hub and export it to the Qlik Sense production environment, and then we can publish that with one click only.
  • Qlik Sense has the ability to automate the reload process so that end-user can view the real-time data. We simply need to set the frequency of data to reload and it works automatically.
  • Qlik Sense is a great tool but sometimes the sense engine goes out of memory due to heavy data size. So Qlik Sense can work on the sense engine and can optimize the engine capability.
  • While creating the mashup using javascript and CSS, it is very difficult to identify the sheet and object it of the sense engine. We have to click multiple screens to check those IDs so that the link can be mapped. So If Qlik Sense can directly let us know all the object IDs and sheet IDs on the same page that would the best thing.
  • While loading the data in the load editor, error explanations are not that great, it is difficult to identify where the load script error is present. So Qlik Sense the scope of improvement there.

  • The amazing UI - provides a great experience while trying to organize data using dashboards. Having been a regular user for over a year now, the kind of things you can learn just by yourself on the fly is simply amazing.
  • Qlik Sense provides a quick and efficient way to scan data immediately and helps businesses make better decisions.
  • The dashboards also provide great flexibility with a lot of options. Instead of having to pore over millions of data.
  • Qlik provides way to discover or undercover hidden connections.
  • Qlik has great performance
  • The trial version of the product limits user space to a limited amount.
  • Set analysis is strong but takes time to learn.
  • NPrinting could use some enhancements to make it easier to admin (e.g., .xls spreadsheet for both input & output for all items).

  • Handles large datasets very well.
  • Easy dimensional selections; in other words, is easy to drill down, select sub-sets of data for analysis.
  • If the data modelling is done well; is good at cross-referencing/joining multiple datasets - this appears seamless for an end user.
  • (Especially on larger screens) the front end looks clean, fresh, modern, consistent.
  • The front end visualisations/charts are mostly easy to create/change.
  • Our Organisation seem to struggle with the infrastructure/setup of the Enterprise environment. A simple example in last three years we have never got our multi-node load balancer working.
  • We seem to spend a huge amount of time cleaning/transforming/modelling our data. The actual front-end development is a fairly small part of our efforts. I don't think our Organisation quite realise the effort required to prepare the data. From the outset Sense was sold as; drop your data in, let Sense handle the management, quickly create charts. Its turned out to be more effort than anticipated. You need good data modelers to get the most out of Sense.
  • As its web-based you're obviously subject to the performance/restraints of your local intranet/internet setup.
  • The set analysis is a really powerful part of Sense; unfortunately most users will not understand how to correctly write the set expressions. You need trained individuals - who also understand the data - for this.
  • Multiple front-end visualisations do not fit well on smaller (e.g. laptop screens). They often appear squashed or missing vital components. Even simple drop-down boxes and filter lists suffer.

  • Generates data quickly.
  • Very easy to customize dimensions / measures.
  • Exports data very neatly.
  • Allowing exporting more than 1,000,000 rows.
  • Allowing more exporting choices. (File types)
  • There is at times a glitch that only allows to type in one letter at a time in a filter pane selector/search which is very annoying.

  • It has a very robust back end, which allows for very complex data transformation.
  • The system of filtering within the app is extremely powerful.
  • The data model editor and viewer is very user friendly for those not experienced in scripting.
  • The system by which the various streams and apps is very rigid; they need to introduce the ability to move things around, add sub-folders, etc. It gets cluttered very quickly when you have a lot of apps.
  • There are often seemingly basic functionality on charts and tables etc. that just can't be done; an example would be having multiple measures on a chart with multiple dimensions. Right now you can only have one measure if you have more than one dimension. There are lots of other examples like this..
  • Sometimes basic things are very inflexible and needlessly complicated; an example being changing the colors of a dimension in a chart. Right now you either have to use the color scheme the system sets, or write a formula to define the color explicitly for every dimension value. There should be some middle ground where you can have them apply a color scheme, then chose to edit the scheme they apply visually.
  • One big limitation is using custom measures and dimensions within other measures and dimensions. The ability create a custom (master) dimension is great, but you can only use that as an explicit field, you can't reference that master dimension in a formula anywhere.
