What is Qlik Sense?

Qlik Sense is a business intelligence (BI) and visual analytics platform that supports a range of analytic use cases. Built on Qlik’s Associative Engine, it supports a full range of users and use-cases across the life-cycle from data to insight – with self-service analytics, interactive dashboards, conversational analytics, custom and embedded analytics, mobile analytics, and reporting. The solution comes in three different editions - Qlik Sense Enterprise, Business, and Team. Qlik Sense can be deployed in the cloud or on-premises.

The Qlik Sense analytics platforms aims to empower everyone in organizations to make data-driven decisions. People of all skill levels get analytical power, with associative exploration and search, AI-powered insight suggestions, AI-accelerated creation and data prep, advanced analytics integration, and natural-language, conversational interaction. They can share and communicate the insights they discover and get answers anywhere they work – with interactive and secure online and offline mobility. And for the enterprise, users get a platform with open and standard APIs for customization and extension, data integration and connectivity, centralized management and governance, and a Kubernetes based SaaS / multi-cloud architecture driving scalability across combinations of on-premise, private, and public cloud environments.

Qlik Sense guided, embedded, and mobile data analytics. It's excellent for providing customers with rich visualizations. We had many customizable reports, but our Business Intelligence team was small. User screenshots updated live data and reacted to selections.

Nowadays it is really important to be able to combine company data with external data such as social networks or web sites visits. All this information helped us to create deep dives thanks to advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms customized directly with Qlik Sense. Moreover being able to visualize them with a mobile phone gives the responsible party the possibility to be in charge and monitor the updated KPIs.

We used this particular feature of supporting multiple different use cases. We did use Qlik Sense for guided analytics and embedded and mobile data analytics. It is also exceptionally well for reporting in rich visualizations which is good for the customer's eyes. Qlik Sense is also good in natural language analytics and it helped the client's organization.

We mostly used Qlik Sense Enterprise for reporting. There were lots of customizable reports available but we did not delve in to them as much because our Business Intelligence team was on the smaller side. We used Qlik Sense Story telling quite a bit where users could take screen shots, that would update with live data as well as react to selections made.

I'm really sorry, but I don't really understand the terms used in your question, which tells you something about the kind of user I am. That I am able to get good value out of Qlik Sense without understanding those concepts, I think, says a bit!

Qlik Sense designs make it very easy to use in terms that the information is accessible and easy to find with only clicking the information on the visualizations. Also, it has a new layer of security that allows the users to work on their own reports without interrupting other's work.

This product is created with the purpose of [governing] self-service data analytics that enhances human intuition with the power of artificial intelligence, with the goal to enable better data-driven business decisions. We utilize these added extra features like conversational analytics, data indexing, location-based analytics, that help our business to focus our resources on the end goal.

we are mainly using an analytics tool [that] is centrally deployed and provides a single source of truth to multiple business units, working as a primary reporting tool. Excel-based manual reporting is almost completely moved to Qlik [Sense] and no manual intervention regarding data manipulation.

From my experience, most users would prefer the centrally deployed analytic model. A couple of users have played around with the self service model, however from a support perspective, we prefer the centrally deployed model. Overall, it has been a positive experience.

My team did not get to experience any of these neat features. Mobile app downloads were not allowed (or at least, not advertised) because of IT's security policies and my team did not develop our own reports due to lack of skills and/or training. So we were completely at the mercy of the few reports designed for us which were notorious for providing inaccurate data and sometimes taking upwards of an hour to load in a browser, if at all.

Having options is a good thing in this case. In fact, we have so many options compared to the spreadsheets we've been using that this almost feels overwhelming. Also helps us focus on the specific data points that matter instead of spending our time deciphering what is noise and what is not.

This has helped my organization in forecasting and deriving correct insights from data accurately. The conversational analytics feature of Qlik Sense has been the best so far and is highly popular in our user community. Qlik Sense is thus a really powerful tool in many many ways - starting from data extraction to modeling and visualization and analytics.
