What is Coveo Qubit?

Coveo Qubit (acquired October 2021) uses rich visitor data to understand different user segments and serve personalized messages to audience segments using JavaScript. It is available on either a managed or self-service model.

Data is collected using Qubit’s own QProtocol data layer, or by integrating the user’s existing model via our API. Quantitative visitor behavioral data is combined with qualitative visitor feedback and ingested data from Qubit users' other systems of record enabling them to identify areas of the site and customer groups to optimize and target with personalization experiences.

Using JavaScript means that changes do not have to be hard-coded into the site, giving marketers and ecommerce teams greater power to implement changes outside of the development cycle.

Users can A/B test any changes to their site using Qubit, and the user interface lets them know what the test results are.

Qubit is a versatile software platform that is widely used by various departments within organizations to enhance their websites and optimize user experiences. One key use case of Qubit is its ability to facilitate A/B testing, allowing users to create and implement tests to drive conversion rate improvements. With Qubit, marketing teams can quickly make changes to websites without requiring CMS changes or extensive development work. This flexibility enables them to test different designs and content variations in real-time, measure the impact of these changes, and make informed decisions on website optimization.

Another important use case of Qubit is its capability to collect and analyze large quantities of data to drive personalization based on customers' previous website and transactional behavior. By leveraging this data, Qubit empowers organizations to deliver targeted experiences and offers to specific customer segments, enhancing engagement and driving conversions. This level of personalization is seen as a key advantage of Qubit over other A/B testing and personalization software available in the market.

Furthermore, Qubit's attribution tool through OpenTag plays a crucial role in understanding visitor journeys and making informed decisions on marketing spend. It provides valuable insights into how customers interact with the website, helping organizations allocate resources effectively for maximum impact. Additionally, Qubit's frequent upgrades offer new opportunities for increasing conversion rates and improving customer engagement.

Overall, users rely on Qubit for a range of use cases including A/B testing, personalization, data-driven decision making, content delivery, measuring the impact of changes, and understanding customers' preferences and behaviors. Its versatility makes it an essential tool for marketing teams, IT departments, web designers, and customer service professionals looking to optimize user journeys, test hypotheses, implement rapid changes, and ultimately improve overall conversion rates.

Valuable feedback collection: Users highly appreciated the feedback box feature in Qubit as it gathers information on all parts of the business. Feedback is given to relevant departments such as merchandising and product development, leading to the introduction of new products or additional sizes based on customer feedback. Multiple reviewers mentioned this.

Difficult User Interface: Many users have found the user interface of Qubit to be difficult to navigate, making tasks feel clunky and impeding their ability to report on tests effectively.

Lack of Data Visualization Features: A number of users have expressed a desire for more robust data visualization capabilities within Qubit. They suggest that additional features or panels could greatly enhance the overall user experience by providing better insights into their data.

We were not aware of some of the other offerings from Qubit so I think this is an area that could be improved upon. For us, Qubit is seen as an A/B testing tool more than anything else so I would say that the promotion of additional tools offered by Qubit is certainty something that should be looked at.

Our company decided to choose Qubit due to its perceived similarly to Optimizely and promise infinite integrations through open tag. Sadly it didn't live up to its promise. The integrations were not integrations as most people would understand it. It was all very manual and you had to build everything yourself, in the instances we tried.

We opted for Qubit due to their personalisation features compared to the other market offering, as we felt their Visitor Cloud was a USP in the industry. The Visitor Cloud allows further personalisations, such as social proofs, to complement internal data we have gathered and transform it into a live, front end product.

The decision to use qubit had been decided before I joined the team - but it has proven itself to be a very versatile package that has saved us from having to use in-house methods to test and update content. The analytics it provides has also helped us and the wider business a lot.

We chose qubit because of the data they capture on our users. Presumably, we can use that data to segment our audiences and significantly improve conversion rates - we're just starting to do that now. Most of our success with qubit has been on the acquisition side, testing various pages for new customers.

I was not with the company during the original decision making process.

We are always are of other emerging solutions but it's Qubit's professional, can-do approach with their team of specialists that take time to understand our business and react empathetically that stops us needing to review another solution.

Whilst I wasn't directly involved in the decision to purchase Qubit instead of other point solutions, I am aware that one of the primary and main reasons was for the fact that it was one solution that combined functionalities such as A/B testing, optimisation and personalisation. It is important to have this data and insight coming from one place - by one 'person's' methodology.

This was the first time that we had used a product such as this. Previously our processes had all been homegrown. Qubit was able to work with our unique situation and seamlessly integrate with our team.

The purchase decision pre-dates my time at the company but we used it extensively in my previous company and felt their offering of testing, personalization with the customer data they have allows us to offer richer experiences. They offer competitive pricing and a constant stream of growth hacking ideas to help our business grow.

Rather than pitching against these competitors, for us Qubit supplements the information they provide and in some cases provides us with deeper information and custom features on a campaign by campaign basis. Also involving the Qubit team can remove some of the reporting error that can be experienced through self-service tools, and their expertise adds value to the analysis of the data we work with.

Qubit is a great choice for A/B testing where advanced JavaScript capabilities are required. This is especially true for large "legacy" sites that have a ton of on-site JavaScript that has culminated over years, often overriding changes made in a WYSIWYG or "basic mode" editor found in other platforms. In these cases, a developer must use JavaScript to override and/or extend methods on-site in order to ensure that changes made for a variation will remain so and not be overridden/destroyed by the on-site JS. QA'ing Qubit tests is also nice given their slick preview tool and the ability to leverage some Qubit JavaScript objects with experiment metadata.

Qubit's implementation was quick and simple for our development team, we were very comfortable using the open tag model. Additionally we were very impressed with the customer feedback, the algorithm used to sort the data and the ease of using the tool to build tests. Qubit was the one solution that seems to check all of the boxes of our requirements. I would happily recommend Qubit!
