I had created my first application around seven months after becoming more acclimated with QuickBase. I had done what was requested by the app owner back then, but as we all know, things change throughout the course of work. When the time came to begin to provide the additional users with a more customized user experience, I found it relatively simple to make the requested feature enhancements with them, as well as rebuild the existing reports to accommodate the changes. To be safe, I did use a copy of the production app as I was building the changes, made several adjustments along the way based off the feedback the primary end users provided to me. Once they were satisfied with how everything looked and felt in the copy, I replicated the changes within the production app, then cleansed and updated the necessary records. Overall, the changes were relatively simple to make, since QB specializes in the ability to make changes quickly and easily.

A QuickBase developed application is easy to maintain and update. Creating a new application from scratch is rather difficult and one doesn't understand where to start however extending an existing application is much more faster and easy. The only trouble that someone may face is when they customize a functionality/page which then they need to revisit from time to time to ensure their response times are optimum based on the growing data in the application.

I took a Quickbase application that was designed by our Digital Services team and brought it to the next level once I started to understand the basics of how the platform worked. I added several tables, built-in relationships, and simplified processes that I hadn't explained well enough during the initial building process.

We we installed Quickbase software recently and installation went well also with the quick guides we ensured our team has got some knowledge and the work flow of the software. Currently we are using Quickbase for Project Management related activities and later on we will expand for Resource Management and data management activities also.

I am sorry but I have not updated the applications, only used them. I have however updated the data within the QB but I am not sure that is what you are asking here. Please let me know if this is what you need to make the review valid for posting.

There was a time when an application developed by another person got transferred to me. It did not take long for me figure out the functionalities and workflows by just looking at the tables, forms, and reports generated. It also helps that all the applications I developed in QB have revision histories so that if ownership transfer has to happen, the changes are tracked and reasons for the change are logged.

Easy and quick development also translates into easy and quick enhancements. This is a huge strength of QuickBase. Because changes in QuickBase take minutes/hours instead of days/weeks with other systems, I regularly do enhancements on my heavily utilized applications.

I update and maintain Quickbase apps all day, and it is a fairly straightforward process. Quickbase has its flaws, but maintaining existing apps is very manageable. Documenting the process of building and updating the app is extremely important. With good documentation, it is much easier for multiple members to maintain an application, but without any documentation, it can be difficult to jump in to maintain other people's work.

We can easily update and maintain the existing applications as it provides the features where we can easily connect Quickbase with other third-party applications. In my case, I have connected the Quickbase with Online Quickbook where with the help of refresh we can easily update the data within seconds!

By taking feedback from my team, I was able to see that they needed certain functionality to make the system more efficient for their respective roles. You can make live adjustments to the apps, tables, and reports without shutting down the system. The ability to configure reports to show the most relative data is also a key feature. You decide what goes where, and how it should be displayed on the screen.

We recently updated a supply chain management tool that was developed 2 years ago. Using the Sandbox tool we were able to test changes to the schema, additional functionality and reporting requirements without affecting production. After testing the Sandbox app, we were able to deploy the application with a few simple clicks. It was great that we were able to focus on the changes to the system rather than having to worry about how to cascade those changes into the production environment.

I don't think this is ever easy without a clear idea of what needs an update: the users making requests typically don't understand anything about relational databases. It is not easy to update an application while it is in use. I am exciting by the announcement of updates coming to the Sandbox feature.

Depending on what you want to update within Quickbase, it can be easy to update and maintain. Maintaining basic entries and forms is rather easy to deal with or making basic updates. Once you move beyond basic updates to data, such as adding new fields or making new relationships, it can get a little more cumbersome. It isn't hard, only time consuming to go through and move items or relate to fields and tables.

I try to roll out changes when Quick Base does their monthly release. This limits the disruptions but also allows for a good mix of changes to our custom applications alongside new features from Quick Base. They could improve the sandbox features but there are enough ways to work in the production environment safely.

Some updates are easier than others. We have many simple applications where updates are quick and easy. Larger, more complex projects with custom code are more challenging to update, especially when the base Quickbase product changes / is updated. Recommend considering a third-party partner to help. We recently updated our project tracking application to use the tabbed function, which allows the user to more easily see organized information on tabs instead of the previous single form that required a lot of scrolling. This saves the user time and allows us as administrators to see grouped information easier.

I'm constantly updating my application. It's an, it is con, it's a fluid application. It's finding new things that this can tie into in our business unit that I didn't think it, the information we're putting in.And it went from trying to go from a paperless system just to be able to capture data at an inspection point. Finding out that one inspection point also tells us what's in our storage inventory ready to ship. It's things that are not ready to ship things that, hey, we need to have more attention to this before we ship. And then what's turned into our materials management for them to be able to manage inventory better. And then what turned into invoicing, which allowed us to invoice even faster and reducing time and efficiency. Getting paid for the product, all from one inspection point that we didn't know all this stuff tied into just by making this one application.

I update them all the time. Like I said I work in industries and sectors that often. And they're out of the control of the company that I work for. They, it's a government rule.I've worked in disaster recovery, the world changes social life changes. There's those kind of things just. Have it all the time. As far as live apps I change those often. Changing processes can be a delicate process depending on how you do it. I personally do not use the sandbox feature.I actually dev live, I dev in production. Yeah, I know. Live it on the edge. And but that's just my personal preference. It's often because of the immediacy of what I do and because I'm very specialized in what I. And I have lots of experience in it but it can be done. And most of the time the people here are they're developing in applications that are being used. They're changing applications and improving applications that are currently in use. So it definitely can be done. You don't need to stop work, you don't need to do those kind of things. There's, you, could you take time to plan and. You work in it and you deploy, but it's not the same length of time as changing something in a legacy database and you can roll it back. And that is a great feature. They're always constantly backing stuff up, which trust me, when I was in my learning phase, especially 11 dangerously in production, yes, , you learn to back your stuff up, but it's always good to have that additional. Back that they've backed, QuickBase has backed it up for you as well,
