Its hard to remember the details, but Zoho did not come close to matching the functionality and ease provided by Quick Base. In addition, the data had to be stored in an external location. With Quick Base, we have our data stored within the app.

Setting up an app or workflow in QuickBase takes a lot less time. QuickBase does not have native built-in email capabilities, however since everything is custom built, features such as workflows, tasks etc can be quickly customized to the needs of the company.

We looked at about 15 solutions to fit our needs and did not have much luck with out of the box real estate softwares. For the price and functionality none of the products we looked at were even close to Quick Base. Salesforce can be customized and manipulated to do a lot of things, but it's ridiculously expensive for what you get and just not worth it. MRI and Yardi required that we use their accounting system in order to have their asset management modules so it was a no go.

My company had already purchased QuickBase when I started so I was not involved in the comparison to other products. Though I know there is SalesForce which is about three times as expensive per user and they force some precanned application upon you. I have also heard SalesForce is harder to code.

I would prefer to use Quick Base because it's customizable. I don't have to see what I don't want to see. I can make it look the way I want it to look. No other software does that as well as Quick Base.

Each software offers its own sets of limitations and strengths. The main strength of Quickbase is flexibility. If I was running a small project based business I would select Quickbase for its ease of change and various possible applications. Some softwares like Sampro require some changes (like field additions) to be to the entire data base. Quickbase is completely customizable.

None of the alternatives we investigated, or used, gave us the flexibility to structure the data to reflect how we view our customers and contacts. Either we were constrained by the pre-existing data table relationships, or by the lack of ability to do everything in one platform, or by the time it would take to implement and maintain the system.

Much easier to design and create the tool you need. We have tried Access, SharePoint, Excel, and Oracle but these tools are inefficient or lacking extremely. We looked into m-Power and Trello and they pretty good, but either they lacked in ease of use or they were not a good fit for the project management needs of our particular type of work.

I started as a User. I migrated to a Developer and now am a full-time Quick Base consultant. It's a solid platform that stands against other products very well.

  • Sales Force
We chose QuickBase over SalesForce because we do not need to rely on an IT team in order to administrate and run QuickBase. When we need to add an option to a dropdown menu in our form, we need it added today, not after a 3-6 week (or longer) development cycle. QuickBase puts the power in the hands of the user---in this case our Operations team.
