Quickbase

We build business applications under the agile methodology with excellent results. Reports obtained in real time are perfect for timely decision making. Companies have taken an incredible turn to their business after managing it through Quick Base.

We have been using QB in a better way over time but it has always served the goal to get insights on each project's status.

I first discovered Quick Base looking for a CRM & Project Management solution that could meet the exact needs of my last business. After trying multiple alternatives including spreadsheets, Zoho, and hiring software developers, we landed on Quick Base. In a matter of months, I was able to build a custom app that outperformed the $300,000 custom app we were using for just 15% of the price.

From there, we continued to scale the app and were able to eliminate, replace, or integrate half of the other systems that we used. This was the foundation of an operational transformation that resulted in:

• Over $250,000 in savings

• Sped up cash cycles by 50%

• Reduced error rates from 7% of jobs to less than 1%

• Allowed investments in growth without increases in overhead

We have mostly achieved these outcomes to this point, but as we grow, we find it harder and harder to maintain.

We were able to achieve our needs of building something fast and deployable across multiple teams with Quick Base. But more importantly, as our needs change, the Quick Base app we create are adaptable without having to start from scratch. Quick Base is scalable and customizable with our business as it continues to grow. One recent example was the need to add a couple of information fields to an app for one group of users. The information was readily available in another group's app. With a few clicks of the mouse, we were able to integrate that data from one app into another.

Overall we really enjoy using QuickBase, it is intuitive and a powerful entry point for digitizing workflows and processes that were otherwise manual and slow. It is powerful in the way it integrates with 3rd-party applications like Zapier, and with QuickBase Pipelines I anticipate even more integration between 3rd-party apps.

We have certainly achieved the aim of realizing our applications in a very short time and we have been able to release them for our internal uses very quickly. Even if we don't have many teams (only two) with which we collaborate our collaboration needs are completely resolved.

All of these outcomes have been achieved, often many times. I think those are really the strengths of Quick Base. Integration is very important and Quick Base is the perfect platform to complement the features of commercial applications in a way that integrates with existing corporate workflows. Also important is the new Pipelines feature that brings great new capabilities for workflow and integrations automation.

Workflow manager is the example the helped solve a business challenge. We had a business area that was responsible of working with a vendor and our contact was limited with this vendor and had to be managed by that team. My team was emailing the exception request, they would look it up, email the CSR back and the CSR would then send to rework or call the member back if it was upheld. We could track the CSR portion, emails were being lost and trending from neither team was happening so we could improve the business. So we created a form for the CSRs to submit the exception request. If the claim was approved, the claim went to be reprocessed and if not, an email was sent to the CSR advising the reason and to do a call back. This process allowed us to track and trend this process and improve our customer service. It took 5 hours of planing and 3 hours of setup and it was live. This would have taken weeks or months for our programmer to get to.

We have successfully implemented QuickBase in some departments and plan to expand its use. So far QuickBase has met the bar, and we have been able to customize features to our exact needs.

With a lot of heavy lifting and coding custom apps were built and are serving the users well. Partner help with good back-end design and using best practices with front-end development.

We have achieved these outcomes with QuickBase by creating our own application and integrating it with our accounting, sales, and vendor contracting departments.

The latest use-case for Quick Base was lead capturing at trade shows. We're able to create a form where people can submit their info directly into the form. We use the form data to drive automation into new tables like our CRM and other apps like Mailchimp for follow-up. It works well with Zapier and other API integrations.

We are able to build applications as needed in less than a week with QuickBase. The dashboard functionality and the reporting feature provide the ability to have the insights as needed. It helps solve most of the business challenges by providing quick and rapid solutions. Deployment was such an easy process, unlike with the native coding apps.

Building and Deploying App - I am currently achieving this. What I love about QuickBase is you get what you put into it. It can do just about anything you can imagine, you just have to think outside the box like a developer and collaborate with individuals in your organization to really define what it is they want to improve in their workflow.

Driving Insights - For the most part it does a pretty good job analyzing data with summary reports and graphs and charts. However, i think if there was a way to develop a Pivot Table per say between different tables using lookup valves, etc. the insight capabilities would magnify tremendously.

Collaboration - At this time, collaboration inside of the QuickBase app is not possible.

Solving Problems - It does assist in identifying problems and define the data needed for analysis in order to come up with a solution. However, it does not solve them for you.

Building and Deploying apps for specific needs - Not quite there yet but it's possible!

Overall, I think QuickBase has so much potential and I am so excited to be able to dive in and really begin to streamline our processes this year.

Building tables was easy but having the tables talk to each other was difficult.

In order to collaborate across our company, our solution would need to be accessed from employees across numerous domains and sitting behind numerous firewalls. The web based access was one of the simplest and most powerful benefits first realized that allowed our teams to immediately begn to collaborate and streamline our disparate processes.
