We update our applications all of the time. A lot of our updating is because our knowledge and confidence in Quickbase has grown and we find ourselves capable of altering existing applications to make them easier to use, more robust, do more work, or to automate some current functions. I can honestly say we have never run into an issue as we updated an application. However, we are careful to maintain existing fields and data whenever we make a structural change.

We regularly update and modify our application(s) to reflect the ever changing organizational structure of our company. Associates come and go and roles and responsibilities change frequently. Making these changes inside of quickbase helps promote awareness across the user base.

We are continually updating our QuickBase checklists to add new questions, fields, and/or functionality. The update process is fairly straight forward and efficient, however we have experienced significant issues with synchronizing updates depending on the scope of the updates (users see incremental updates while I'm still implementing the final solution unless I make these updates during non-working hours).

I’ve revised several of the applications from the library and have had much success. I use it personally to track and manage my annual MBOs and was very impressed with how similar several existing applications were for my needs.

As our business processes change, our end user administrators or our IT administrators can make changes quickly in the apps. With the ability to sandbox and preview within an application, we can prototype a solution for our users and demonstrate it to them without impacting production directly. Once they approve, the change, it is simple to apply the change to the production environment. Many times, we are able to complete simple changes on the fly during a phone call or within a meeting.

All our applications are constantly being updated. As users see what QuickBase can and does do for them they ask "can QuickBase do this or that?" and the answer I find is YES.

I do this on a regular basis with my existing applications. Updates, fixes and new feature deployment is rapid and quick with the tools that Quick Base provides. My clients only wait hours instead of days for their requests to show up in their application ready to use.

We update an application that tracks our team projects and timelines all the time. It is easy to go into the app, delete old tasks or mark them as completed or archived, add new tasks and notes, assign tasks to new people, etc. We change deadlines, add new tracking fields, and customize the layout of our dashboard to add new widgets and reports. It is done live on our team call and doesn't require any special talents.

When the needs for updating a custom driven web form arose from what was previously used in Quickbase, all it took was a few minutes of brushing up on the syntax and we were able to drive a very complex custom formula to adjust to what the customer needed. No massive re-write of the app needed and within a few moments we were able to fix the problem.

Honestly, I wasn't involved in the updating process for any of the products that we shipped with Quick Base. But from what I heard talking to my co-workers is that in the post-release phase, Quick Base made it easy to ship bug-fixes and patches to our software. It was a simple process and Quick Base even recommended some problems that were arising from the application, suggesting how we could fix problems we didn't even catch ourselves.

I recently updated our Human Resources app. It was a major overhaul as I cleared out old features, consolidated data, added new features, and made the forms much more user-friendly. Before doing so I saved my data locally by exporting tables to csv files, which is extremely easy to do. Adding new features and cleaning up the forms is such a fun process, though. It's so easy to make an app update shine for your users. By using new field types, connected data, QB automations, and color-coded tabs on our forms the outcome was excellent and our HR department rejoiced!

There have been a few times we had to change existing applications so that we could accomplish new initiatives, which wouldn't have worked with the initial setup. There always went pretty smoothly and we never had much downtime.

Yes, It is designed to make it easy to update and maintain existing applications. One of the best features is bulk upload with a primary key u can upload the information in the respective form and there will not be any chances of mistake.

I updated our Quick Base app to provide emails based on late arrival of required documentation to meet customer needs. Quick Base provides automated solutions and formulas based actions that allows the software to make smart communication decisions. My use case would allow the software to view a due date, check to see if all documentation was received, if not, it would flag the project to ensure project delivery was not compromised.

We're in constant update and development mode as our industry has constant changes to regulations that we must adhere to. We're also still a new project so things are constantly changing as we improve our business processes. It's been very quick and easy to add new fields to forms and reports.

I haven't really used a Quick Base developed application, however, I have used and maintained an existing application that someone else had created. Being able to problem solve is very easy in Quick Base. Also, the support staff at Quick Base is just amazing. They are able to help you walk through the issues that you are receiving and help you trouble shoot anything that you come across.

We currently organize monthly billing items for our customers in QB (ie. the line items that appear in their invoices). Beforehand, this was a mix of one-time fees, monthly fees, and yearly fees- which we denoted using 'notes' on each line item. We recently split these into billing item types: one-time, monthly, yearly. This allows us to have more clearer reporting.

Quick Base has made it very easy to update its applications by not tying fields to a specific name. This allows for updating use of fields and renaming them to whatever you need to help promote further growth. This makes it much easy to update an app allowing you to repurpose or maybe just change the app in a way you didn't initially think.

Simple updates like adding a field, requiring a field for data entry, or reorganizing the look of a form can be done on the fly. It's always good to let your users know in advance and when it's completed. Surgical changes like re-ordering tasks in a business process, changing the direction of a business process, or eliminating a piece of the business process, require a bit more effort. I had to eliminate and re-route part of a business process at one point. I made a copy of the application and made the changes and did the testing of the new process in that environment. I documented the changes and put them into production over a weekend.

We have an application that tracks all of our active projects. We needed to add some functionality to this application which was somewhat complex. It was no problem at all to go into the application, make the changes and get the new functionality working.

I often end up in meetings with project managers and/or clients who look at the app and say it is great except it needs to also track X, Y, and Z. By the time they are done talking amongst themselves, I've already added the fields they are asking for. It has frequently blown people away, as they are used to a much longer cycle between a request for a change and seeing the change implemented (assuming it ever happens at all!). It's great to be able to talk to someone, understand what they need, spend a minute or two making a change, then ask them to refresh the page and confirm it meets their needs.

There have been other times where it was much more difficult to do an update, but that is usually because of a poorly designed app or poorly understand and articulated requirements. Quick Base is not a panacea to poorly designed apps, unfortunately!
