We are regularly revisiting our apps with the Product Owner to provide additional functionality. Updating the apps are easy, as easy as the original development time. The visuals provided in Quick Base like the Relationship diagram and the table relationships provide a great place for a developer to start to understand an app. This is helpful for a developer to update an existing app.

The first app that I built only took me three weeks and the process was fairly smooth as it was built based on an existing app template and I was able to open a user case to fix the issues as I build the app. Tech support from QuickBase is really a key to successfully and quickly launch the app.

Updating QuickBase is simply updating the configuration for your application. Yes, you can your application though Quickbase allows you to save copies to ensure you can roll back as required.

Typically, once applications are built, they are rarely updated, if ever. More time is spent on the building and generating of the reports and charts that come from the data entered into the applications. Applications are fairly easy to build though and updating them should be just as easy, especially after some practice with how the interface works.

Our task and HelpDesk management apps were customized from submitted apps. They were functional, but awkward until one of our team [members] spent an afternoon customizing them further. He achieved user interfaces that were much improved and that provided reporting info that was very helpful for me.

For our post-development app, we have had some process changes over the years, so this required some redefinition within the workflow and the associated tasks. The original app developer was able to accomplish the updates within a few days of determining all of the requirements and mapping out the new process.

Quickbase is very easy to use and manage data. I can quickly upload and make changes to my data by importing changes made in a spreadsheet. Once the data is uploaded, the custom reports are automatically updated. This is only one example but there are various uses which can streamline existing processes and allow greater focus on a project.

Over the last year or so we wanted more detailed information relating to the products linked to opportunities - e.g. at individual SKU level. We were able to export a list from our ERP and create it as a table within QuickBooks where users could select items from a drop-down. From an application development perspective, it was simple. From a business perspective, it enables us to report on future demand for products. We use this intelligence to improve the accuracy of inbound inventory profile.

Each year, we tweak our contract application and it usually only takes a few hours to add new fields or remove old ones. The biggest challenge is recreating links to other applications that we may need to reference.

I built an app to catalog links to news articles I find online on a particular subject we'd like to stay on top of. This app is used by many people in our company and works great. But later I realized I could make it even greater if I added a few new fields and changed the way it displayed data. Doing that was a piece of cake and didn't take too long at all. I struggled a bit because I thought I needed to create a custom formula to do what I wanted it to do. When I couldn't figure out how to do that (because the online help was lacking) I abandoned that idea and actually found out how to do it without the formula so it worked even better.

I have constantly updated applications to make them better and to address new challenges that arose over time. It has always been relatively easy for me to make these changes. I've used the QuickBase community to find ways to solve particular challenges. Overall, I'm pleased with how easy it is to update/maintain applications.

While I've generally left the updating of applications to others on our team, I've had many conversations with those who have done it themselves. Every indication points to them being very happy with the results and the ease of use of QuickBase as a whole. It has been a great tool for our team.

We have continually updated our custom applications within Quickbase. The ability to right-click and drag and drop has made getting a new look or adjusting some of the fields easy. To try and do this within a tool like C++ or other software development tool would not be possible, Quickbase allows for non-developers to make quick, easy and efficient changes to your custom applications.

This hasn't ever worked for me. Our needs are odd because we are a business that operates within partner businesses, with multiple locations and multiple customers. I have successfully stolen portions of apps like tables, functionality, etc. But typically our table to table relationship needs make it difficult to use other apps.

We recently deployed an asset management system to keep track of our IT department's inventory and purchases. The main use of the app was for tracking computers and laptops. Soon after we launched the app, it became apparent that we could also use it to track IT purchases, so we built new forms in the app for submitting information on those purchases. We further improved the application by building in an asset "check-out" system which allowed employees to temporarily take ownership of an item (like a laptop). The application would report on what inventory was checked out and when each item was due to be returned. Employees who checked out inventory would be reminded of the return date. This allowed us to more accurately manage our inventory. Our most recent addition to this application was to extend the purchasing portion of the app to departments outside IT.

I needed a QuickBase app to maintain the tasks outside our regular enterprise QuickBase app. I searched for the existing app and I found one. Then I was able to customize within 2 hours to suit my need. QuickBase is so easy to customize. The community support is great. I got lots of answer by browsing the community support.
