We have been using Quick Books Desktop Enterprise to keep track of our accounts payable and receivable. It is a very user friendly option that we would highly recommend to any medium size business. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise has great reporting and works very well on the cloud. It is nice that we can give our accountants access to what they need as well.

  • Intuitive
  • Great cloud version
  • I wish they would change how you print a check. You have to click print three times.

We are a small manufacture and find QuickBooks and essential part of our day to day operations. We find the overall ease of use and ability to capture most of our financial requirements far superior to other products we have tried. The only downside is the lack of knowledge of some IT providers to support the software.

I think QuickBooks Enterprise is great for small businesses. I have used it for the 15 years to run businesses and it's great. It's very intuitive to use. You can do everything from bill pay to paying employees just from this software.

I use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for my whole financial package. General accounting and payroll. It is the most complete, easy to use, and understand program that I have used. It has a full history of past entries.
In addition, the few times that I have needed support, i.e. through MS upgrades, the tech support provided the help that I needed.

We use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to managed the back office accounting for our online retail stores and have used it to do the same when we had our own brick and mortar store. Being a pretty common software we have found a lot of integrations that work with it from our shopping card, our order management, our shipping and even out sales tax reporting.
  • Easy of use
  • a lot of off the shelf integrations
  • cannot natively print price tags for our products. It can print bar code, but not easily print price tags .
  • I think the cost per user for an off the shelf product is a little high.
As mentioned earlier there are plenty of integrations that work with it making it easy to share or pass data between programs such as our shopping cart, order management software, tax reporting software, shipping, etc. The cost if significantly higher than the cost of regular Quickbooks Premier, but there as some nice features that help make the additional cost a little more palatable. We used to use Quickbooks POS with it, but that has been discontinued. We used that to print price tags to put on our products, but in my experience, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise or all it does with barcode and such does not have an easy way to take a PO and print price tags for shipments as they come in.

I use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to run 4 multimillion dollar companies. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise takes care of all our financial needs with ease of access for bill payments, collections, reports and budgeting. We staff 6 people that before their employment with us had no experience but after a short time have become proficient users because of the ease in applications.
  • Produces critical reports
  • Quick customer info look up
  • Check writing
  • Making administrative changes without having to switch to single user
  • Assigning a number automatically to credit memos
  • Needing supervisor override to make changes
I highly recommend any business to use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise as it has so many facets to it that a large company or a small company can use it and either use all aspects of it or as little needed. In my experience, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is easy to learn which makes it easy for a start up business or a seasoned professional to get what they need in no time.

I can't think of any company that would not be able to use this and love it.

We use Quickbooks Enterprise as our complete ERP solution. From Accounts Receivables, and Payables, to Inventory Management, Quotes, and Orders, Quickbooks Enterprise is our primary tool for day to day business.
  • Inventory Management
  • Purchase Orders, Quotes, and Sales Orders
  • Payroll
  • It's a great product and from our perspective we can't see any need to improve.
If you run a small to medium sized business Quickbooks is likely to be a good fit for your company. Upon deploying Quickbooks you are given the option to start your company with 1 of approximately 8 different prebuilt company formats making the process much easier.

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is the software we use to run the financial operations of our company. With this, we are able to track receivables, payables, project costs, budgets, taxes, payroll, etc. Without it, we would not know how our business is doing. The professionalism that QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise gives us, not only helps us in our internal operations but gives us credibility with banking institutions, bonding agencies and customers that require a full picture of the health of our company. Like many of the external relationships, Quickbooks is a partner to our company's overall well being.
  • Overall accounting
  • Project costs
  • Payroll
  • Taxes
  • Personalize reports
  • Software training
  • Adjustable reports after created
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is a great software to use. However, the cost of the software has changed from $499-$599 every 3-4 years to an annual fee of $899 is a bit strangling to a small business. The software has not given an increase in value, only an increase in price. It's a little disappointing since I've been using this software for almost 27 years.

We use this software to record our building management transactions, the software works well with Buildium, the property management software we use. We enter bills from accounts payable and accounts receivable, we are able to reconciliate bank statements and issue compensations for employees through the software. We also use the check printing and bill pay capabilities.

Sophisticated software, which makes it hard to make errors, but hard to navigate at times. We have had new users get stuck and not know where to go, there needs to be more help for new users.

We moved from QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to Blackbaud Financial Edge for our non-profit needs. (Multi-fund Accounting) - Also better integration with Donor Database and AP Review. Online, multiple user access more streamlined. AP Approval Process. More
  • Bank Reconciliation - Matching - Integration
  • Robust Reporting (Ease of use and creation)
  • It's familiar - I've been using it for years and it "makes sense" to me. The change to Blackbaud has been difficult, cumbersome, slow.
  • AP Approval Process requires separate App. (Not well integrated)
  • Not Online (Cloud-based) Solution
  • Doesn't seem to be evolving along with capabilities of QuickBooks Online (Seems stuck in the past)
Best suited for mid-size companies that need more robust reporting than QuickBooks Online can offer. Better for only a few users (More gets tricky - even with RightNetworks.) Too cumbersome for small companies - QuickBooks Online is a much better solution overall - And seems to be developing well. There are few scenarios that I would recommend QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise - The last recommendation was because the company did not want their information online at all and felt that was more secure on the desktop.

Most definitely the #1 software to take your accounting system from spreadsheets (or paper) to an actual system where you can run reports, keep track of inventory, payroll, purchase orders, etc. Very easy to setup and expand as your needs grow.
  • Invoicing
  • Po's
  • Receiving
  • Easy to search for data
  • More standard reports
Great for small businesses that are looking for a simple solution to manual accounting processes. I do not recommended for large Manufacturing companies as not sure that the bill of material section can handle complex builds.

I manage the accounting for 14 companies and foundations. All payables, receivables and accounting is done through QuickBooks.
QuickBooks makes accounting and audit preparation very simple and straightforward. It is easily customizable for each different company. Cash management is also very easy using the registers and the hundreds of customizable reports generated monthly and annually.
  • Processing payments is easy with memorized transactions and last entered detail
  • Vendor history is easily accessed on demand
  • Customizable reports serve the trustees well
  • Annual audits are quick and easy with everything in one place
  • The software becomes "cranky" more often than I would like. A quick data scan on the server usually helps, but if I am out the staff get pretty stressed.
  • Record Retention is not working with QuickBooks. Should there be legal action requesting records for 20 years ago the records will be there - not advisable.
  • Upgrades are quite time consuming as I have to "touch" every computer using the software.
The accounts payable process is so quick and easy with the remembered last transaction. This also reduces the time needed to figure out the coding from the Chart of Accounts.
Access by multiple staff concurrently reduces frustration of having to wait for access to a company's records and processes.
Staff do not have to have accounting degrees to be able to manage company records because QuickBooks generates the path for each entry that gets the data entered correctly for basic accounting principles and audits.

Used to keep the books for 5 different enterprises.
  • Easy to use - Intuitve
  • Easy to customize
  • Allows multiple users
  • Sometimes the shared database engine gets messed up and the server needs to be restarted - that shouldn't happen
  • Deep reporting and analysis tools are severely lacking
  • Security is not as tight as I would prefer
  • Really wish it would prompt to take credits and discounts when paying bills
It gets the job done and does the basics well while being easy for new users to use. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is well-suited for companies that need to have many users working at the same time. If you only have 1 or 2 users, then it is overkill.

We export our daily billing from our proprietary system into QuickBooks for sending out invoices and handling collections as well as financial reporting. Our owner uses QuickBooks for all of our financial reporting and tax preparations. We send out approximately 50 invoices per day.
  • Emailing Out Invoices
  • Monthly Statements
  • Receivables
  • Credit Memos
  • Refunding by check or ACH
  • Account Reconciliations
It would seem to appropriate for small business to keep track of invoicing, collections and providing financial reporting. I think this product is great for small business. it is easy to use and more and more companies are allowing exports into QuickBooks now. We looked for a company that would export into QuickBooks when we were looking.

Utilized in our accounting department as our accounting software to assist with all accounting functions. More specifically, income and expenses, invoicing and accepting payments, creating reports, cash flow, 1099 contractors, running payroll, etc. The only reason we moved to an alternate accounting software is because our company grew so big so fast, with multi facets of business (i.e. multiple subsidiaries) that we needed a software that could handle our work load.
  • Income and expenses
  • Invoicing and accepting payments
  • Running Payroll
  • 1099 Contractors
  • Third party remote access.
  • Costs associated with multiple users.
  • At times, the program would freeze up and we would have to reboot and begin the process over again.
The Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise software has amazing tech support if you ever run into any issues. Great and integrated features. User-friendly software, very easy to use, and no need for training or prior language. Flexible for business daily activities and project management. Quickbooks has the features like Configuration of different Financial Statements, Personalized Invoice formats, and Data/Reports download into Excel. The customer billing and collections process can be customized to meet the user's needs. While great for small to mid sized businesses, this is software is not suited for a multi faceted business such as ours. It just cant handle all of the depth of processes that we require to run our business now.

We implemented QuickBooks Enterprise in 2007 and have been using it since. It is a much less complicated system than what we had in place before which allowed us to train employees quicker and have easier access to financial data as well as automation from our retail channels with the use of an additional app.
  • Easy Sales Order Entry
  • Quick access to financial data
  • Easy to use with an intuitive interface
  • Very quick learning curve
  • Better reporting; the advanced reporting tool is also difficult to use.
  • Multi-level BOM's could be better, specifically for rolling up costs and printing multi-level BOM's.
  • Planning and Budgeting modules could use some improvement.
QuickBooks Enterprise is a good software package if you want ease of use. Setting up and training employees is very quick, but it does have some quirks for manufacturers. Multi-level BOM's could use some help and we had to take extra care to set up all BOM's to function properly. Relieving inventory could be a hassle if you don't have everything set up properly and stay on top of daily builds. Overall, QuickBooks is extremely easy to use and for the price it provides good value for a small business.

I am an account administrator and help other businesses use QuickBooks Desktop (QBD). Is a standard GL under the Intuit umbrella. I would recommend QBD over any other desktop GL software, but would highly recommend the use of an online (cloud) based software for any GL. In my opinion, QBD is being phased out by Intuit and will probably not exist in 5-10 years due to the low demand and lack of effort put towards it.
  • Expense tracking
  • Excel output
  • Profit and Loss statements
  • Job profitability tracking
  • Bank reconciliations
  • speed of processing
  • overall interface
QuickBooks Desktop is well suited for any small business that does not intend to grow or have many needs in terms of their financials. In my opinion, it is a good basic software that can handle the needs of most small businesses and I believe only needs repurchased once a year instead of a monthly subscription.

QB helps maintain the daily financial transactions such as A/R and A/P and, at the same time, helps maintain the job costing for each customer's project. I have encountered any such problems as yet in the company.
  • Vendors Bills to be paid on a timely basis.
  • Job Cost data Estimates, Purchase Orders Invoicing all Integrated.
  • Financial documents at end of year.
  • There is confusion on checking the BILLABLE box when entering bills into Job.
  • There is also confusion if use the cost of goods or Items on the items list is not properly set up, and it does not show items on the job profitability report.
I have been using QB desktop and QB online since their beginning, and I feel it is very user-friendly. I do feel that there should be an online free tutorial for every NEW QB user. I have found that some NEW users do not fully understand the system.

Alladapt is a small biotech start-up currently in the clinical trial phase and thus has limited transactions and no commercialized product as of yet. Thus QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise was a reasonable option considering the limited complexity of the accounting and number of Finance headcounts.
  • Includes vendor and invoice references
  • Intuitive to drill down and find transactions
  • Quick posting of journal entries
  • There is only one date field, and no differentiation between transaction and accounting dates
  • No approvals required to modify transactions
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is well suited for smaller/start up private companies. There are no robust system controls/approvals that would assist in ensuring proper preventive/detective controls are in place.

Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise is used for the finance department only. We record our project expenses and revenue along with company bills, expense reports, and payroll. We generate our invoices through QB and close the books each month after month-end duties. We use to supply our 1099s through QB, but are now outsourcing this process as QB changed how they support this some years back.
  • It provides ease of researching through reports.
  • Entering lengthy journals and bills is a breeze.
  • The system is very user friendly and easy to navigate.
  • In my opinion, 1099 reporting was easier in the past when the system was not supported by a third party.
  • I would like to see it providing more robust reporting features in the future.
  • It would be appreciated if it could allow for multi-entity tracking within one system.
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is a very user-friendly system, great for independent business owners and small businesses. It is a very intuitive system to use and learn, even for those who are not familiar with accounting. This is the perfect first software for first-time accounting software users and experienced software users alike.

I handle accounts payable for my company. I enter all my invoices and pay the bills out of Quickbooks. I also track banking transactions. We enter customer invoices and manage customer payments as well. It makes it easy to have everything in one place. We have several different accounts associated with our quickbooks solution.
  • Invoice tracking
  • Payment tracking
  • Easy reports
  • I wish we could add more than one customer with the same name.
  • The reports could be easier to configure
  • Employee payroll could be easier
I have had vendors send me duplicate invoices several months apart, since i enter the invoice numbers the system catches if i have entered that bill before or not. We decided not to use the payroll module anymore based on the way payroll is set up. It was hard to use and if something happened all my info would be lost.

Although I was hired on as the Graphic Designer, this is such a small company we all do our part to keep the business running flawlessly. One major part that we all share is the use of Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise for the processing of orders and inventory control. I honestly don't know what we would do without it! Not only does it make the ordering process simple, but it also keeps very accurate data of what is coming in and going out on a daily basis. Especially since I was put in charge of inventory control! I am constantly having to use Quickbooks to make sure our inventory numbers are on track and if they aren't, I will turn to our Quickbooks Purchase & Sales Orders to try and figure out where we went wrong. Needless to say, without Quickbooks, my job would be next to impossible to perform!
  • Point of Sale.
  • Inventory control.
  • Accounting.
  • The home page could be a little easier to navigate.
  • Bringing the scanner option from Advanced Inventory over to the Desktop would be very helpful.
We were trying to implement the use of a scanner for inventory control and we were surprised to learn that Quickbooks only allowed this option if we were to subscribe to their Advanced Inventory program. We still utilize Quickbooks for 99% of our business functions/transactions but this setback forced us to find a third-party company to provide a scanning program that is compatible with our Quickbooks program.

We use Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise as our primary accounting program. All AR/AP, budgeting transactions happen in Quickbooks. We also manage inventory. The reports available are rich and the program has some pretty advanced functionality. It has allowed us to keep track of spending in the different departments and focus on areas where we were overspending.
  • Reporting.
  • Budgeting.
  • Ease of Use.
  • Only one ship to address per invoice (can't do drop ships).
  • Uses its own language so sometimes hard for integration.
  • Still not able to pull some specific report analytics.
Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise has a pretty rich inventory portal so we use this version over the online version. I believe the online version allows for easier integration with other programs though. I also think the reporting capabilities are richer in the desktop version versus the online version. It has helped us to stay focused on areas where we were overspending.

I have used QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for accounting for many clients based in the US. It is the best accounting software one can have. The only drawback to using it is the offline mode. Clients have to subscribe to Right Networks or similar Remote connections and install QB Desktop there. We are then given access to these remote servers to operate the QuickBooks Desktop.
  • The Find (control+F) function can find any transaction easily.
  • Easy to upload Bank transaction via .qbo file type.
  • The reconciliation window is super useful at the time of reconciling banks and credit Cards.
  • Automatic connections for fetching transactions from bank and CC website is still a headache.
  • Manual back ups need to be taken at regular intervals.
  • The cost per user is very high as compared to QuickBooks Online as we also have to subscribe or use a remote connection to access the QB desktop.
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise can be used by a user when they do not have a round-the-clock internet supply and want to take everything on offline mode. Its access is limited to the PC on which it is installed.
