QuickBooks Online Advanced is utilized in the day-to-day accounting for the business. The product's seamless integration to our AP and Corporate Credit Card platforms has helped to simplify and streamline our month-end close process. Investing in this tool helped us move from outsourcing our accounting needs to managing them all in-house.
- Integration in to 3rd party tools
- Simple reconciliation tools, help identify issues earlier.
- The customizability of the chart of accounts helped to fit the software to meet the different needs of our business.
Cons
- More efficient customer support. There have been incidents where I have been bounced to and from the same departments while trying to resolve an issue.
- Continued integration into 3rd party software would help drive continued efficiency.

QuickBooks allows me to help not only my company but other small business I manage, organize their day to day financial business operations. It allows me to generate reports, run payroll smoothly, I received unlimited support 24/7, and I have access to unlimited training. There are some 3rd party that doesn't work well most of the time for my clients i.e. PayPal and the QuickBooks banking is not at all working well due to the transfer from outside business accounts it's not real time like the normal banking system which is not good for me or my clients. Overall I like using QuickBooks and have been a fan since 2008 with the Desktop version, so the online is much easier for me and I love the fact its cloud based.
- Allows reports to be customized
- Categorize incoming bank transactions
- Reconcile and pull in the bank statements
Cons
- 3rd party apps syncing i.e. PayPal
- Improving the QuickBooks Checking Account by adding real time transfers
- Bank Syncing loses the connection too often
It was a breezy easy transition from QB Desktop to QB Online!

QBO is used across the organization to manage invoicing, expenses, banking, a/r, etc. and for financial reporting (P&L and balance sheet).
- Integrated with banking and financial institutions.
- Integrated with Quickbooks merchant services so it makes it easier to collect payments from customers.
- We are utilizing categories for better sales reporting.
Cons
- The reporting (even with Fathom) is not as robust as I need so I bought a 3rd party software (Finjinni). QB's desktop had the same issue so I used QQube on QBs desktop.
- I bought Transaction Import Pro to help with importing vendor invoices and bank deposit details (receive payments from customers).

QBO Advanced is our nonprofit's financial record-keeping solution. We have been using QBO for about 10 years and switched to Advanced in June 2020. We needed access to more users and classes for program tracking purposes. We use QBO to send invoices for programs, record donations, and track bills. Our accountant uses what we have entered to help us fill out our 990.
- Invoicing for various programs
- Sending invoice reminders in bulk
- Tracking sales receipts
- Tagging items for more detailed reporting
- Easy to create reports
Cons
- Reports are not as customizable as sometimes needed
- Native import/export features would be great rather than having to pay for 3rd party app
- The regular search is pretty useless, I always use the Advanced Search function
- Memo/Description are 2 different fields but various reports use one or the other and it's very hard to remember which ones use each. This is very annoying.

QB sucks, go somewhere else. they are overpriced, their program is costantly crashing, at least the online version of it. Having to constantly close it down and restart to get it working again.
Customer service is horrible, most of their call intake is in another country and most can't be understood, they are slow to respond to problems or security risks. We notified them that somebody created a 2nd account with our company name and we were getting calls and emails from all over the world, that their credit card had been run by our company. obviously it was not us, reported it to QB and they said they were not showing a 2nd company, even though we got an email telling them our account was set up successfully. Sent all this info to them and never heard anything back from them or their security department. 2 years later they are taking us to collections for thousands of dollars that they claim our company owes them. We even reported it all to the FBI at the time it was happening, but we were told nothing they could do because it was occuring somewhere from outside of the USA. Quickbooks is horrible and they employ too many 3rd party companies outside of the USA, that speak. horrible English.

- nothing
- it's always crashing or getting stuck
- currently looking for another provider.
- Quickbooks is going to price themselves out of business.
Cons
- customer service is hard to use because they offshore their phone reps, hard to understand and often get no resolve to issues
- We had a problem with a notification that somebody had requested another account in our company name and I called in to report that we had not requested another account, I was advised they would get back with me, which never happened
- My major complain is lack of good english speaking customer support and their lack of follow through on issues that do arise. It's like they don't care because they are so big.
