We selected QuickBooks Online because it is supposed to integrate with a new Project Management software package we are starting to use. QuickBooks Desktop is much better suited to job costing and project management.

Kashoo doesn't do making tax digital and VAT calculation and submission. Nor does it connect to UK banks.

I personally didn't get on with Kashflow's UX - it felt a little dated when I tried it 3 years ago, but it may have changed. I also felt pressured to buy it over the phone during our trial. And it was more expensive than QuickBooks, which I had already used.

My employer was already using Quickbooks when I got here. As the Executive Director, I do all the day-to-day accounting. This program is easy to learn and use. I was able to add budgets by class so I can run P&Ls for each of the different programs as well as an organizational budget.

QuickBooks Desktop is a really crappy piece of software, from a UI/UX perspective. As an example, the font in the program is tiny. You would think that would be a simple setting you could change, but take a look at what's involved in simply making the font a readable size: https://blog.accountinghelpline.com/quickbooks-desktop-issues/quickbooks-font-too-small/ However, as crappy as QuickBooks Desktop is, we're switching back to it because it pales in comparison to the headache of trying to switch to QuickBooks Online and having to deal with their customer support (or lack thereof) in the process. I'd rather stick with the crappy desktop software than have to spend another day trying to get useful information out of the Intuit support team.

Customer support and the product are overall better and easier to work with than ADP. I have worked with both programs for the same amount of years and I find that QuickBooks is easier to work with than ADP. Easier to understand and not time-consuming to learn as ADP.

There are pros to both - but the online version won due to the simple fact that if we have to shut down due to the pandemic, or there is an illness preventing us to work....we can work from home and still get everything accomplished!!

Many of the other online account software we looked at was similar to QuickBooks Online with a lot of the same features. At the end of the day QuickBooks Online just seemed like a more dialed in piece of software that easily handled all our needs. Being familiar with other non-online versions of QuickBooks definitely helped make it an easier decision and take less time to get up and running.

I used Intuit products for my personal finances for so long, I did not look for any other solutions. When I started using QuickBooks Online for my S-Corp, it was plug-and-play. I was up and running immediately with no learning curve. And QuickBooks Online continues to remain relevant and intuitive, so I have not had reason to explore other options.

We looked at a variety of options for managing our billing/clients. QuickBooks Online offered all the features we needed and versatility we wanted. My accounting firm was happy with our choice--they have to do the reports/taxes, so it was important that we selected a system they were happy with.

Quick and easy to set up. QuickBooks Online has a full suite of bookkeeping tools and pricing is affordable. QBO is best suited for Small Businesses and it's cloud-based, which is also well suited for the owners who work remotely. It is flexible and integrates well with Third-Party Payments. Bank reconciliation is a breeze.

FreshBooks is trying to do more bookkeeping and accounting, but QuickBooks Online greatly surpasses in terms of functionality and integrations. FreshBooks can easily manage invoices and very basic reporting.

I have used Wave Accounting for another business. I selected QuickBooks Online over Wave because of the features available from QuickBooks. Wave is great since it is free, but I feel that paying for QuickBooks Online is worth it for the features. In addition there is such a robust support network and training available for QuickBooks.

I chose QuickBooks Online primarily because I had the most experience with it. Although the desktop versions will generally have more robust reporting and some areas of versatility, QuickBooks Online has the best immediate access when it comes to support and it's online versatility; thereby allowing the user to solve problems quicker. I find end users like the fairly quick learning curve of QuickBooks Online for their basic accounting needs.
