QuoteWerks is a versatile tool used by sales teams to streamline the process of producing quotes, proposals, and order confirmations. Experienced reps can easily create sophisticated quotes and proposals with QuoteWerks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their sales process. Additionally, QuoteWerks can be adapted to create and track sample requests and technical samples, providing flexibility for various use cases.

Despite its robust functionality, one major drawback of QuoteWerks is the lack of a web version, limiting accessibility for remote users. Another consideration is that QuoteWerks requires a server and syncing remote data over a VPN, which may pose challenges for some organizations. However, many users find that these limitations are outweighed by the fact that QuoteWerks is a fraction of the cost compared to most SAS quoting solutions. The tool has demonstrated tangible results in sales management and CRM integration, improving work management and enhancing the customer experience.

Sales departments benefit from key features such as electronic signatures, integration with CRM systems, and automated quote notifications to clients. QuoteWerks also caters to specific industries such as IT businesses by assisting with quoting equipment package deals. It supports sales representatives throughout complicated configure/price/quote steps, maximizing profitability and driving consistency. Additionally, QuoteWerks accommodates a wide range of retail and service use cases.

One common use case involves using QuoteWerks to manage quotes for both new prospects and existing clients. The software's search capability allows users to easily keep track of recently created quotes, enabling efficient quote management. Moreover, QuoteWerks simplifies the generation of multiple quotes per account for comparison purposes. Beyond the quoting process itself, QuoteWerks and its companion tool QuoteValet are utilized by sales and accounting departments to prepare, deliver, and process quotes and orders seamlessly.

In addition to managing quotes, QuoteWerks plays an essential role in fulfilling daily orders based on quotes. It acts as a bridge between different departments involved in the sales process, facilitating smooth order processing, and reducing errors. Furthermore, QuoteWerks is instrumental in improving sales pipeline transparency and integrating with organizational growth by providing valuable insights and analytics.

The software's user-friendly interface and integration capabilities with popular CRM systems like ConnectWise, ACT!, and Salesforce make it a sought-after tool for many organizations. By pulling data from CRM systems, QuoteWerks eliminates the need for retyping contact and account information, saving time and reducing errors. It allows for quick and timely production of professional-looking quotations, ensuring prompt responses to customer inquiries. Another valuable use case of QuoteWerks is its integration with other business software. It seamlessly integrates with CRM programs like GoldMine, Autotask, and ConnectWise, eliminating redundant data entry and automating the sales business process. This integration allows for data mining and reporting within CRM systems to determine successful products and establish pricing guidelines. QuoteWerks also offers customizable templates and integrates with third-party software, making it a versatile tool for businesses of all sizes and industries.

QuoteWerks is widely appreciated for its ability to turn customer needs into financial information, enabling smooth transactions. Users find that the software simplifies the process of creating quotes, saving time by eliminating manual calculations and allowing for easy customization. The generation and sending of complete custom quotes can be done in under 10 minutes, significantly improving workflow efficiency.

Moreover, QuoteWerks is not limited to the quoting stage alone; it supports the entire sales process from quoting to ordering to procurement and billing. By decreasing the time it takes to create quotes and generating clear, easy-to-understand quotes for customers, QuoteWerks enhances the overall customer experience. Sales teams benefit from its real-time availability and pricing features, collaboration capabilities, and streamlined client information management.

For managed service providers, QuoteWerks is an invaluable tool that allows them to generate custom quotes for products and services quickly. Users in industries like highway/construction also appreciate how QuoteWerks simplifies accurate pricing updates and avoids conflicting versions of price pages. The software serves as a cross-referencing system, aiding users in entering quotes and orders accurately by easily cross-referencing vendor part numbers and keeping track of sales records.

QW is used by our entire sales department to quote product and to fulfill orders. Having come from an Excel based quoting system, we have decreased our pricing mistakes dramatically and improved the look of our quotes.
  • QW produces a very "finished" looking quote to the end customer.
  • It allows everyone in the organization to have access to each others quotes for consistency.
  • Because QW integrates with our CRM (ACT! 2016), we are able to better track our opportunities and follow up on open leads.
  • The data structure that is required to set up the "price books" behind the scenes is a little cumbersome until you learn how to do it and practice.
  • The sync function for the data is sometimes a little slow in the Standard and Professional editions because of the Access back-end. The Corporate edition uses a MS SQL back-end and is better.
Since the software seems to be designed for people selling computer components, there are a number of suppliers that support direct data input. If you don't sell computers, don't let that scare you off. It just takes some more work.
  • Decreased pricing errors
  • Increased positive customer image
  • Quicker quote generation
  • Better employee efficiency
  • Quote Writer
Although Quote Writer is a much more robust solution, it is also much more expensive. QuoteWerks is the ideal solution for the small to medium sized sales organization who wants to increase efficiencies and image.
I cannot imagine going back to the way we did it before. The sales staff would rebel!

There are no special skills needed to learn how to do the pricing function and maintenance. It just takes practice.
  • Improved image
  • Decrease in pricing errors
  • Improved efficiences for the sales staff
  • We have been able to easily create duplicate quotes for multiple vendors
  • Allows us to easily track past pricing for customers
  • We are not taking full advantage of the QuickBoooks integration
  • We need to utilize the configurator function more fully
Yes
We were using an Excel based quote that left a lot of inconsistencies in the pricing and the image.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
QuoteWerks gave us the most features and usability at a price we could afford.
I probably would not change anything.
  • Implemented in-house
Yes
We developed the data structure, and then adapted our existing data sources to integrate into to it. We developed the templates and forms. We rolled it out to the field, after doing group and one-on-one training.
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled
Different levels of buy in by the employees. Some didn't want to change, but most welcomed it because QW is less labor intensive.
  • Administrator education and training
  • Complex manual and lack of additional traininmg sources (although that has changed)
  • Time to commit to the process
Now that there are more videos, it would be much easier. Before it was a lot of trial and error.
  • Online training
  • In-person training
  • Self-taught
There is in-person training offered in Orlando, but our company did not want to spend the money.
Originally it was weak, but they have really stepped up.
I do not recommend this route. There are a lot of good online videos now. Utilize them for all they are worth.
It allows you to modify the things you need to and allows the permissions to be set easily
Lock it down for everyone initially, and then loosen up as you deterrmine who the power users are.
Yes - we have customized the interface extensively
It is not hard at all to make changes
No - we have not done any custom code
We have not had the need to have any custom code written
This is a very flexible program, and it is designed to do as little or as much as you want.
No
The email support is great. !
The support guys are always right on top of things. QW also puts out regular updates, that address bugs and problems as well as new features.
Yes
They are always quick to issue patches and fixes.
When we were setting up our data, we kept having a formattinmg problem. Support tried to help us walk through it ourselves without success. It was as frustrating to them as it was to us. They finally had us upload the data to them and they fixed it overnight at no charge to us.
  • Intregration with ACT! is perfect
  • The ability to create different templates and forms for customer needs is great.
  • The shortcuts are very intuitive.
  • Setting up data formatting can be difficult until you practice it.
  • The sync process is very "clunky"
  • Pushing updates out to the field is difficult
Yes, but I don't use it
There is a Quote Valet Mobile ap, but we don't use it.
From a user's stand point it is great. From an administrator's view point, it could be somewhat easier
We have gone from 5 users to the current 15 without any growing pains
There when you need it.
Overall it is a great product, just sometimes the administrative functions can be difficult
  • ACT!
  • Outlook
The integration is seamless, and is very easy to set up.
  • I would like to see it integrate with Swiftpage or constant contact to allow automated follow up
Not sure.
  • File import/export
For the programs that I wanted to integrate with, it works perfectly.
Don't let this be a stand-alone product. Take advantage of using one of the supported CRM packages that it will integrate with.
Very quick to respond
I have never had a problem with them on renewals or upgrades
Theree was not really anything to negotiate here.
Make sure that you give them a complete picture of your expectations. They are very open about what they can and can't do.
Yes
The updates are fairly regualr from QW, and just require a few minutes per computer to roll out
