Minimal improvements to RE database view, with a lot of pain points still remaining
I use NXT mostly to enter Actions and Notes into the records of donors after completing cultivating steps or finding out background information about them. I also use it to identify information about a donor if they're calling and need some background details about prior gifts or whether or not we received a gift. In terms of data analytics, we are also in the process of building out dashboards to display KPIs such as retention rates, revenue, etc.
- Analytics dashboard are helpful are user friendly
- General layout of donor information is displayed in a clean way
- In some ways it has more functionality than RE database version, such as clickable links within each record that bounce to related pages
- Very limited ability to run queries. I have to open up the database view to do that.
- If I am logged into the database version of RE, after too much time of inactivity it breaks the connection and I need to manually break the a data connection and the process takes about 10 minutes. Very time consuming and unnecessary in my opinion.
- The giving history cuts off after a certain number of entries. If I want to see the comprehensive giving history, I need to log into the database view, which takes longer to load.
- In my opinion, the contact info is not entirely intuitive and is missing some bits of information that would organize it in a clean way. For example, I want to be able to indicate if a donor unsubscribed to bulk emails vs. emails we should never contact even for individual outreach.
- There is no option to check of text message as a method of contact.
- I would like to see a service that scans phone numbers and tells you if they're cell phones or landlines.
- In my expereince customer service is generally not helpful and difficult to reach.
- Even though we use Luminate Online, another Blackbaud product, we have no way of automatically recording which emails a donor received. There has also been no movement on fixing this issue.

Raiser's Edge NXT is very helpful
We use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT to manage our data for fundraising for two separate organizations. We are able to track our data, review trends, follow up on leads, track actions, manage prospects and evaluate efficiency while using the database. We are also using it to make decisions about solicitations and tracking lapsed donors.

Great Donor Management System in All Fundraising Aspects
We utilize Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT as our donor relationship management system and donation tracking. We also utilize for tracking grants and event sponsorships. The software allows us to quickly and easily manage the day-to-day work of fundraising for a robust human services nonprofit. We use Raiser's Edge daily and even staff outside of a true fundraising role (such as our CEO or Chief Communications Officer) find it easy to use. As the administrator for the system for our organization, I have only run into a few issues that have required me to dig deeper into their FAQs or knowledge base online.

Say YES to NXT
We have been with Blackbaud for over 15 years and moved to NXT about three years ago. We utilize the system by keeping our donors, prospects, employees, volunteers, and community members updated. All cash and in-kind donations are posted on accounts within NXT, and acknowledgment letters are generated for those gifts. Notes are kept in the note file as appropriate. Monthly reports are generated through Raiser's Edge to reconcile our foundation records with our corporate accounting department. If I need to report on a particular constituency, I can generate those reports as well. We print labels and envelopes for groups.

NXT is not perfect but professional
We use it to manage our donor relationships. It is particularly helpful for managing interactions with donors (Actions) and the Address Radius tool for assessing where our supporters/prospects/alumni live. Individuals are able to create donor lists easily to sort and analyze constituent information, although it is limited. I like how I can easily access it by computer or on my iPhone. We also use it to send certain email marketing/fundraising messages.

A Very User-Friendly Experience!
We use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT for managing donor relationships. This includes tracking gift history, recording communications with donors, and making sure their contact information is current. It is a great tool to see all information in one place with a very user-friendly interface.

NXT - an intuitive & accessible donor database / CRM
NXT provides a user-friendly interface with my organization's donor data. The back-end team uses RE for mass uploads of data, but I use NXT to look up donor information and to update my interactions with donors.
I've worked with donor databases for over 20 years, including bespoke systems and Blackbaud's more basic product, eTapestry. NXT is intuitive and easy to work with, and puts the data I need at my fingertips. There is LOT of information about each donor and each gift.
Whenever I have to go into RE - to generate complicated reports, for example - I am reminded how simple and easy NXT is to use.

- Allows us to sort & select donors based on various criteria
- Generates individualized dashboards
- Tracks interactions with donors and actions on their accounts
- It's not easy to generate complex reports in NXT, which we do in RE instead
- Increased details about certain actions would be helpful; eg, add space for details on why an address or email was changed, not just the date
- Clunky handling of households, like spouses.
- Currently unable to append individual name to phone / email, when multiple emails for a couple.

Regular User of RE NXT.
Our organization uses RE NXT to manage constituent profiles. RE NXT allows us to easily access donor information and prepare strategic outreach for groups of donors and individuals. I use RE NXT on a daily basis to manage personalized communications with donors.

- I would love to see better search options--i.e., the ability to search constituents by address or email.

NXT has potential to be great but it needs to figure out its relationship to the RE database before I will recommend it.

- In my experience, we have had multiple instances of information being incorrect, outdated, or incomplete within NXT, which is a shame because I do like the platform but blackbaud doesn't seem to have reliable data management between platforms/databases
- We have issues with names, addresses, phone, and relationships being changed without notification and we don't become aware until it's too late (i.e.. we send mail to someone who has been deceased for 5 years, address mailings and giving to couples that have long separated, a child has their parent for a spouse, etc...)
- The recurring issue is that NXT doesn't have the same functionality and reporting capabilities as RE database so, unfortunately, we have little faith with the output of information on NXT beyond basic notes, activities, and salutations.

Good features but training is a challenge.
Raiser's Edge NXT is our donor database. We use it to accept and keep track of all donations. We use it to keep current information about our donors and build relationships with them. We use it to communicate with all our donors and constituents. We use it to track patterns of giving over time. We use it to pull many different reports and mailing lists.
- It pulls the fundraising data into nice charts and graphics.
- It offers one the ability to create a task list for donors.
- The sections on each donor profile can be arranged the way one likes to view it.
- Training - I would like one person that I am able to call and speak with about the issues that I need help with whenever needed. I am not a fan of the "chat online," and the number of training courses is overwhelming.
- Our customer success manager is always very kind but never really knows how to help. They continually refer me to training courses that are too long and overwhelming. They often do not know which ones to really refer me to, and several times I have been referred to the wrong one and wasted three hours of my time.

Basically, you have a monopoly, and you use it to increase your annual fees while providing less support personally and programmatically.

NXT easy for fundraisers to learn and use.
NXT allows some reporting to be made easy enough for any user to pull. Development tracks their contact reports and accountability through NXT. We recently added ResearchPoint, allowing solicitors to see financial information on their prospects. Most users use NXT strictly to pull contact information on constituents or view media files on their records or add an action, so they are not using it at a very high level.
- Allows individual users to personalize what they see and how they see it.
- Allows gift processing to move a gift from one record to another, as long as it is the same type (individual or organization).
- Provides relatively quick sync to information out in database view.
- Sync of reports and queries currently in database view does not exist.
- Gift batch entry seem clumsy on NXT.
- Available training is very limited unless you subscribe to a service for training.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT offers a great cloud-based fundraising tool, but not without its challenges
We use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT as a relationship and data management tool. With this, users can quickly access donor information for insights into their giving history, event participation, and touchpoints. It's a great tool to have on the go when needing to look up a specific donor's most recent gift or notes from a prior meeting. Data updates are made accordingly by staff or volunteers.
- The user interface is incredibly easy to navigate
- The Work Center is a great tool for tracking fundraiser connections and activity in one place
- Reporting provides interesting insights and benchmarks against other organizations and internal year-over-year performance
- Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT has not quite scaled up to match the functionality of Raiser's Edge desktop - you cannot record volunteer hours, for example, in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT.
- List management/Reporting that involves complex data analysis or queries is not as easily extractable
- Adjustments to gifts have not been easy to make in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT; if something is entered incorrectly in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, for example, it is very hard to change in the desktop version if it's not something minor like an appeal; we still find ourselves doing all our gift processing in the desktop version

NXT is a game changer for frontline fundraisers!
I use NXT to manage a fundraising and alumni database for my organization. This is the primary database for donation management, alumni information, and philanthropic reporting. This product allows fundraisers to access donor information with ease of access, reports to be generated for C-suite review, and lists to be pulled for a multitude of mailings.

- Multitude of reports for comparison and review

- NXT donation and registration forms to be as robust and customizable as other Blackbaud products (i.e. NetCommunity)

I love NXT because it allows me to have all of our donor information at my finger tips, whether I am in the office or on the road. The app works just as well as the desktop version and is very user friendly.

NXT offers next level fundraising
I use Blackbaud NXT as the database manager for a non-profit organization. Blackbaud NXT helps our fundraisers to stay focused, organized and on task. We use the database to maintain constituent information, relationships, gift management, moves management, for the promotion and registration of events, for soliciting and tracking donations, marketing and constituent correspondence. We use the dashboard and reporting tools to provide insights into our donors and to analyze appeals.
- Lists are helpful for fundraisers to look at specific groups
- Email marketing is easy and provides useful statistics and insights
- The integration between NXT and other Blackbaud products is very helpful
- Gift management could be more robust
- I prefer using the database view of NXT for queries and reporting - more capabilities in lists would be helpful
- Duplicate record creating with Event Registrations is an issue

NXT brings clarity to our monastery's database!
We use NXT every single day. We rely on this SW to manage our 10K+ donors and friends. We use it to maintain information on previous meetings and calls. As well as build specific mailers, events and appeals around geographic areas or givers to specific areas of need. We process gifts in many ways and NXT supports this endeavor. They help us keep our funds' growth progress clear, because we have many.

It works well! But it’s expensive.
We use NXT to track and manager the full donor cycle of our constituents. In addition to recording gifts, NXT is used to track all engagement between individuals/organization with our institution. The platform helps my team strategize on needed engagement touches in order to solicit first gifts, renew annual donors, and maximize major gift asks.

NXT - Great tool for frontline fundraisers
Use daily for our fundraising team in capturing information on donors and tracking contact reports, proposals, business information, gifts, wealth ratings. Have used NXT for the last 4 years which has been wonderful for frontline fundraisers where they are able to access portfolio information at anytime and able to download reports that makes it more collaborative with the operations team.
- NXT Dashboards that are easy to build depending on what you want to see if it’s for metrics or specific tracking of moves management.
- Tracking opportunities/proposals so it’s nice to build an easy pipeline
- NXT will keep track of how long a donor is in a specific stage of prospect management so it’s nice to see how long someone has been in qualification, cultivation etc
- Some things from classic RE still don’t match up in NXT
- Can’t export an action report that contains all information that the team would like to see
- Sometimes it seems to take awhile to refresh once a record has been updated

How NXT has worked for Kansas City Hospice
One of our main uses of NXT is for fundraisier gift tracking. We use opportunities to track asks through the year to calculate fundraiser credits and ROI. NXT also stores all donor information to aid in the gift cultivation and stewardship process. Our team also uses Raiser’s Edge Database view, so our use is split amongst the team. Our fundraisers use NXT and our data entry specialists use database view for gift entry and database maintenance.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, the good, the bad, the ugly
RE NXT serves as our organization's CRM. In this capacity we enter donors, donation amounts, other information so we can track, acknowledge, cultivate, retain, donors. It serves well as the conduit for to FE; however, there are significant weaknesses in the system with respect to how it integrates with marketing. The fact that so often BB products are closed to partnering with other sources causes great consternation given the costs of your adds ons and the fact they do not meet our needs is frustrating.

- NXT does not have all the capabilities of RE DB and the DB is not as easy to use as NXT
