  • Mobile VOIP access
  • SMS and Faxing Features
  • IVR Menus and advanced call routing
  • Call queues and history logs
  • Custom rule scheduling can be overly complicated since the last major update
  • Support teams can be so eager to follow up that they reach out excessively during weekends while we have informed them we are not open
  • Costs have become a bit higher than when we had started working with RingCentral.

  • Easy to use & navigate web interface.
  • Simple, yet customisable IVR options.
  • A vast wealth of knowledge via the RingCentral University (support is also brilliant!)
  • Cost is slightly on the higher end of the spectrum, there are cheaper systems out there, not really aimed at Education in terms of pricing initially.
  • Some ELEMENTS on the administrative side are unveiled by digging down into other options. Can be resolved by a "Related Options" links on some menus (admin portal).
  • Had never heard of the company until attending BETT show in 2022. Would be good to market towards Education sector more prominantly with Educational discounts/offers.

  • Calls can be answered by anyone logged into the app
  • Text messaging with customers is relatively easy
  • Text messaging internally with employees can also be done
  • We are having issues with calls where at least once a week the calls to our main number only come to the owner's app. As such, we are missing customer calls. Even the voicemails are not deposited to the main number, so we're not properly following up with the missed calls. RingEX has been investigating it for a while and has yet to resolve it.
  • The reporting that we have access to is very lacking. I'd like to see analytics of call volume, missed calls, peak call times, call length, etc. for our location only. Our data is combined with all of the other franchisees and it's very difficult to see how we are performing individually. The filters are very limited as well. This may be more of an issue with how the franchisor chose to set it up, but regardless it's not very easy to use nor very helpful.
  • It took a long time to get texting to work. Not sure what the issue was, but I was told for weeks that it had to be an issue on my side, but ultimately it was a setting that I didn't have access to. It should be easier to configure and have texting enabled by default.
  • When a call comes in, you can't see what number the call came in on. The display for incoming calls could be improved.

  • Their tech support team is knowledgeable
  • The RingEX system interfaces well with PC Recruiter; I can type my notes in real time while on the call.
  • I can also send texts through RingEX
  • While the tech support team is very good, the wait times can be very long.
  • It took several weeks to set up SMS ability and although I was given a free 30 day trial before the monthly fee began, it took over 30 days to set it up so I couldn't really learn it for free.
  • They don't offer an aut-dial function or auto voicemail function

  • Short learning curve - it doesn't take long to get the basics down.
  • Support tickets are handled well. Even just Q&A chats with support people are worthwhile.
  • Uptime. Solid uptime.
  • Fractured billing - we use CX as well, and the fact that they are billed separately is baffling.
  • Allow distinct branding for individual sites.

  • VOIP calling - call quality is excellent and has replaced our traditional landline phones
  • Video meetings - video quality is great(provided you have a good webcam) and the video features(multiple hosts, screen sharing, multiple room management) is 2nd to none.
  • Screen sharing - As an unexpected benefit, the ability to do a screen share has helped our IT crew in being able to remotely diagnose and fix problems with faculty or staff machines.
  • The desktop app updates are somewhat annoying. It seems the desktop app will randomly close and restart when there is a new version pushed out by RingEX. Not a huge deal but it is sometimes annoying to be reading an instant message on the app and it will close/restart without warning.
  • I'd like to see the mobile app have an easier way to be offline than logging out of the app entirely. I may want to be able to message using the chat feature but just not accept phone calls. Or have my phone calls go to my desk phone or desktop app but not ring my mobile app in certain situations.

  • Easy to use admin interface.
  • Prompt and knowledgeable support staff.
  • Provides a cost-effective VOIP solution.
  • A telephony partner sitting as a Leader on the Gartner Magic Quadrant.
  • More info on the functionality that each available user licence provides.
  • Better integration within the Microsoft Teams platform - especially around voicemail management and 'do not disturb' status updates.
  • More accurate AI for the text-to-speech voicemail transcription.

  • Call logs, historical accuracy
  • Keeps people and organizations accountable
  • Easy to use infrastructure - don't need a phone to make use of product/service
  • Combining apps into one main, easy to use application
  • Accessing RingEX can be confusing on the backend
  • Perhaps offering a custom ringtone instead of a default for individuals

  • I could use a simplified version for the needs of our company, but I am always able to reach support who walks me through step by step to accomplish whatever I need. There are far more features available than we need at this point.
