Roambi (discontinued)

We used pretty old version, but I know that newer versions have added new functionality (like new views) and support more data source (like Business Objects 4, etc). Also, I like the Roambi support team (quick and very helpful). They will not leave you without answering all your questions or without fixing your problems.

The only reason we would not renew is if there is something out there that is less expensive that is cross-platform for mobile devices. Our clients are no longer exclusively using iOS, so in order to keep their business, we need to change with them.

It still delivers the results we expect and we do not want to touch good running systems.

We do evaluate the market for mobile BI solutions from time to time. We haven't seen any software that comes close to Roambi. Roambi does a great job to adjust to new look and feel of the operating system (IOS 7) and enhance the usability even more.

It is inexpensive and highly valuable.

In our view it is the best mobile BI product on the market today.

Though Roambi is a great tool, the new reporting tools that are coming up seem to be more flexible and offer more features

Roambi has now been accepted as an effective tool to visualize and analyse large amounts of data within our department with its use slowly trickling down to other users. It has gained acceptance amongst users that generate this information and users that consume this information chiefly because of its ease of use. The engine that renders information in the front end works very well, whatever layout I have in mind can be ultimately achieved by tinkering with the numerous available options. Users can further drill down to a limited extent if they want to look closely at a dataset.

Feedback on our new reporting has been fantastic. We believe in the value these new reports give us and are certain that we will need them even more in the future. We find this to be quite an inexpensive solution, and believe in this investment... Plus, returning to using just our old reporting solutions wouldn't quite cut it anymore.

I would definitely use Roambi again because of its ease-of-use, but its lack of customization ability makes it difficult to recommend to businesses as business needs are always changing. People are picky, and on the Roambi project, we were not able to fully live up to the customer's expectations, limited by Roambi's preset limitations.
